Lovely friendly clean pub.

Very welcoming, nice drinks dog friendly and gave dog treats!

Great service and drinks. Only issue is the baby changing facilities is only on one side so to change the baby you have to go outside and back in through another door which is a bit of an inconvenience, especially if cold and raining. It's also great that it's dog friendly!

Nice pub if you wanna stop off for a drink in the forest. The food was a let down. Burger was burnt (see picture) and some of the food had no flavour.

Out for a walk in the New Forest and we decided last second to go into here for some food. From the moment of walking in the staff couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome. We chose to sit in the snug area which was almost too comfortable! Food wise couldn't fault it and highly recommend the steak & ale pie. We plan to be regulars here now.

Wonderful pub/restaurant . Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Food was excellent just what was needed after a walk in the forest on a Sunday afternoon 🙂

Lovely setting and building. Good atmosphere and friendly bar staff. Good prices given current £ climate. Definitely will be back. Wasn't obvious if they do food but lots of live music.

A found this lovely old pub by accident when working near Blackfield. Full of character with low ceilings anc oak beams. Great outdoor area for the kids.

Beautiful pub but no food!!! Dont get it. Would be handed to put a notice at the top of the lane if you are doing food or not.... Can't doubt the beauty and location....

Immensely good food! Had a handmade chicken and leek pie, new potatoes and fresh veg covered in delicious gravy. My Nanna had a welsh rarebit that was also great. There were no problems with any of the food; it was all fantastic. The service was a little inefficient, and the restaurant itself was very noisy and hectic, but I suppose that goes to show how good the food must be!

My wife and I had lunch here today. The menu looked good, the prices were reasonable. It was lovely and warm in the sunshine, and so we sat outside. The food was excellent, despite a slight wait for it to arrive (which we were warned about when we ordered) (It was lunchtime after all!). But the wait was well worth it, really. The fries that accompanied my food were the best fries I have ever tasted, anywhere!

Fantastic cafe/restaurant that serves great hot food and cakes. They have recently doubled the seating.

Excellent range of cakes all made on site, they say. We had the chocolate and cherry cake and a fruit scone. The scones are huge, although a little crumbly, but good value for money as a cream tea. The breakfasts looked amazing, and we will come back soon to try it. Dog friendly, and the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended.

Amazing Sunday lunch, I had the roast beef, my dad and sister had the lamb shank. Absolutely delicious. Service was great. Lovely friendly staff. Warm and cozy atmosphere with a lovely log burner.

Stayed at The Forest Home pub in my camper van on the 27.12.23 in there car park for one night whilst in the area The staff were friendly and polite. The food and Beer was really good I had steak pie chips and peas the steak pie just melted in the mouth with plenty of steak and the John Smiths was great as well also has large outdoor seating area one side paved other side grass also a children’s play area would happily use again when in the area

Visted for a light lunch three times over a monthly period . Have to say the most impressive pub I've been to this year . Warm atmosphere, you feel it as soon as you walk through the door . The staff are friendly and efficient. Spacious bar with lovely solid oak topped tables , Would really recommend the side salad, a creation containing pickles of cauliflower , gherkins, and onions hidden among the tonatos and fresh green leaves . The main dishes too look plentiful. All in all, a visit to the Forest Home is well worth a visit .

Just stopped for a drink. Great outdoor play area with two bouncy castles and a new swing area. Was very quiet in the play area. Great for the kids for an hour. Quiet for the parents.

Absolutely lovely place and nice food. My favourite beer. Gorgeous scenery and dog friendly. All customers you speak to are friendly. Shame the staff won’t smile and be polite. A particularly staff member of the bar called ash is very rude and as much use as a chocolate teapot. Apart from that, lovely place to come. Just Avoid staff

Had a great meal for our group of 17 on a long weekend trip. Arranged to sit us in one half of Mr Henry's, so more like private dining. Staff were extremely friendly, very good service given, food excellent. Would recommend.

My wife and I have really struggled to find fault with this hotel and location. From arrival to departure we were looked after - front of house were extremely welcoming and informative, bar and restaurant staff were friendly and knew their menu (couldn't fault the food). In fact all staff were very professional. Our room was exceptionally clean and comfy. The hotel offers plenty of parking for guests - which is a real bonus. We enjoyed the area and what was on offer. Would recommend and will definitely be returning in the near future.

We had a wonderful evening at Monty’s for my son’s birthday. The lady that served us went above and beyond for him and made the evening extra special which meant so much. A massive thank you to her. The food drinks and puddings were all delicious and presented beautifully

Very quiet on a weekday lunchtime. Very dog friendly in the bar and restaurant, we chose the comfortable bar. The dog biscuits went down very well with our furry friend. Flacks beers and Somerly cider were very nice. Haddock and chips was possibly the finest fish I've had, truly crispy beer batter and a lovely piece of fish. The full Monty burger was very good too.

We had a wonderful meal at Montys. We had our two dogs with us and they were given dog beds, treats and water. They loved it and it made for a relaxing meal with our dogs snoozing beside the table. Food was lovely and staff were great. Would definitely recommend!

We visited this pub with family. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was decent but the food took some time to come out. They offer a good range of beers on tap. The pub can get busy as it's in a prime location so make sure you book if you really want a table. There are plenty of tables outside for extra space. The menu was a bit strange as it was a massive wooden thing, I'd ditch these in favour of a more simple one. The food was excellent value for money. I had a chicken, ham and leek pie. It was really tasty, my partner had the dirty burger which was superb. The pizza my mum had was so big she took some of it home as it was so tasty. Children's menu was good and my daughter loved the mac and cheese. Overall these were great portions and decent prices. I'd say this is a good pub and good value for money. We were so full we couldn't even contemplate the desert menu. Well worth the visit.

Very nice pub in the new forest. Great car park, welcome to sit and have lunch, nice protocol, tasty food with lots of sauces in the plate and good service having the attention you just need. Clean restaurant and beautifil decoration. Very recommended.

Lovely stop off while travelling through the new forest. It was a , so it was a mid afternoon, so, we only snacked. However, we could see the food being brought out to others. We could hear the delight of other customers. We will go back in an evening and see how we feel then.

Wanderful staff and service. Amazing place. Great food. It is sophisticated food so might not be for all. My fiance didn't like beef as it wasn't done too well like for her and they took if off the bill. Amazing service.

We had afternoon tea with gin and tonic. We arrived late but the team were happy to accommodate us and still serve us afternoon tea. No one came to see to us - we were sitting out of the way and late. Really impressed that after this slight hiccup the manager came over to apologise. The service was excellent. The food delicious, especially the warm and fluffy scones. We enjoyed different treats overlooking a lush and cozy garden. Recommended.

Amazing experience at The Terrace Restaurant. Easy parking at the restaurant. Waiters had good PPE kit on which is a huge plus. Great wine selection plus good value champagne :-) Food was just amazing. Quality and execution were spot on cooking delicious meal for my family. We loved the Hake and Lamb Rump. Hake was perfectly cooked and the highlight for the evening. Desserts were superb and it disappeared so quickly. My kids loved the strawberry dessert. We will be back again for sure.
