We chose this pub to meet some old friends for lunch based on a number of positive online reviews. A lovely pub with a relaxed environment and great service from Sarah.. a good menu choice - the food was very good, well priced and served in good time. There was no rush on our meal time enabling us to catch up and spend time with our friends. Will definitely look to use this pub again.

We had passed this restaurant so many times in the past year visiting between Oxford and Basingstoke. Each time we said we must make a plan to go in. On the day we finally moved back to Basingstoke we finally stopped. And boy am I glad we did. The food was absolutely delicious. We chose items off the bar snacks and sharers menu. Good portions. The ladies serving us were helpful. The owner popped past to see how things were and we had a good chat. It’s wonderful to find a restaurant that has a personal touch. The big chains don’t give you this experience because they’re just pumping numbers through. There is also an outside area to eat. I highly recommend a stop here. We certainly will go back.

Thank you for such a lovely Valentine’s dinner. The food was amazing. Started with a glass of champagne which is always nice, a selection of warm breads and salmon starter, belly pork was to die for and Stilton with fruit cake. Lovely restaurant with really friendly staff especially Farren. We will definitely be back. Excellent, thank you.

A lucky find. Very friendly staff serving good food at reasonable prices. 3 generation family visit and all of us happy with the food. They even modified the lunch menu choices a little to accommodate our preferences.

I was in the area for the week and had dinner/lunch here three times. The food is fantastic and the Guinness is top notch - and the staff are also very helpful and friendly!

Best roast I’ve ever had in a pub, and I have v high standards :) Also had lunch & dinner on a weekday and equally as impressed! Everything is homemade which is sadly rare these days. Will definitely be back!

Popped in with my mother for a lovely pub style steak ciabatta.. well got a lovely bit of steak with a plastic bag melted onto it (fake American cheese). Where was the lovely cheddar? The red onion chutney? Katie Prices baps have seen more butter than that ciabatta.. don't even get me started on the side salad.. saw a couple snails hanging on the plant pot next to me watering at the mouth. If you order here.. I hope you like rocket and ummm only rocket all by itself! Fire the chef or send him to culinary school.. not the pub grub I was looking for 😘 Such a shame because the venue and atmosphere were stunning. The food let it down massively!

Lovely cozy pub in a small town. We stumbled upon it while on a drive. Excellent food at very reasonable prices. Substitutions are allowed in food items. Great deals too. Ample parking.

Went for an evening meal here with my partner after the England Germany game. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The Indian food was phenomenal and made from scratch, I had the Lamb Chops and Keema Naan and my partner had the Korma and an Olive Naan. All were recommendations from the staff and they were spot on! Can't stress how lovely the staff members were, the family who own the pub as well as the new member who had only been there a week. Will definitely come again!

Badgers wood is a characterful village pub, with a snug lounge area and a larger bar area and features a real badger as part of the decor. The badgers has recently reopened and was serving 4 cask ales on our visit. The landlord and bar staff were friendly and service was excellent, worth visiting if you are in the area.

Visited the restaurant here, nice cosy atmosphere here and was surprised at how busy it was on a Monday evening. The service was great. I had the vegan katsu curry which I highly recommend, even as a non-vegetarian, and the sticky toffee pudding too. Only negatives, it was a little cold where we were sitting in the restaurant and the car park was totally dark making it a bit difficult to park. Other than that it was a nice meal!

Me & my partner got married here. I cannot recommend this venue enough. The food was great, the staff were fantastic. The accommodation on site was perfect. Special mention to Flo. She was our wedding coordinator. She was amazing. Made the day stress free. Top notch!

Our room was absolutely beautiful bed is super comfy , all the staff are friendly food was beautiful and the scenery is incredible we loved our stay and so did our doggy . They even have a doggy food menu which I thought was brilliant . Will definitely be back!

We've just enjoyed a lovely couple of days here. Stayed overnight to meet friends. Perfect location by the river. Great for wildlife & dog walks. The rooms were very comfortable & nicely furnished. Everything was thought of, even down to an iron & ironing board. The toiletries were gorgeous & the showers huge with rain & normal shower heads. Now for the food. It was absolutely delicious with generous portions for a change. We ate in both the restaurant & pub areas. Loved the fairy lights in the restaurant. It looked really beautiful. Would make a great location for a special occasion. Finally the staff were very friendly & the customer service was excellent.

Fantastic food and service. Immaculate inside and great history with Oxford University. A must visit.

Me and my wife went for dinner. Lovely food and good portions. Service could be a bit faster. We waited a while for someone to take our order and also for the food to arrive. But we both really enjoyed our food.

I came here for the roast and was pleasantly surprised. The portion sizes are better than others, although 3 courses will run you around £30 a person. There are additions such as cauliflower cheese that are very nice, but were a little expensive. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the environment within is nice. I would recommend it, especially if some other local roasts had portions that seemed a little small.

Recommended by a local, this is a pleasant, friendly and welcoming pub. Serves DoomBar plus a guest ale. Place is well kept and comfortable, with a genuine pub feel about it. Children welcome - indeed, the barmaid was very friendly and chatty with my five year old daughter. If I lived in the area, this would be my pub of choice.

Typical backstreet boozer. Good beer good atmosphere and good service. It has an enclosed garden out back but i never went into it due to not realizing it till i left. Prehaps make this more noticable to newcomers. And they would return more.

This pub is amazing! A proper wet pub! Atmosphere is amazing! Lots of pleasant people in! If you come in on your own you’re guaranteed to find someone else to talk to, if you wish to! Always happy faces and the beer is so crisp and can tell it’s being well looked after! Snacks available are varied which is great! Highly recommend and we’ll done to Kevin and Lucy for your progress!

Had a meal from New Dynasty this evening and was duly impressed. Decent portion sizes, hot upon collection, very tasty. Well worth the visit. They don’t do delivery as an option, but they do take cash and card payments.

Always like the food from here and they can cater for gluten free. The Chilli Beef is amazing. The wait is never long and the food is always hot.

We have used sizzling kitchen occasionally across a couple of years and found it reliable and consistent. We most often get a bucket of friend chicken. I personally prefer this to the most famous fried chicken brand. I find the chicken a better quality, it is less greasy, has more flavour as do the hot wings. The chips are also nicer. Popcorn style chicken is tasty and again taste better quality. Only once I have had an issue and the management resolved it personally, effectively and thoroughly. They are very approachable and gave the impression they care very much about their business, customers and staff. The quality of their produce is very good especially when compared to other local companies of the same sort of business. The staff are welcoming and helpful.
