This has to be one of the best bakeries in the Country. The cakes and buns are amazing. Just look at the pictures. Been twice now and it does get busy but its worth it. There is some Parking but you mostly end up along the road but its not really an issue. Great service, amazing cakes and coffee. YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE! Another very easy 5 Stars. ##############################

Went on a whim after visiting The Vyne nearby and parked a little down the road as the village is cute. Arrived to a queue out the door which told me it's definitely going to be worth it! I had a cheese and onion sourdough toastie which was absolutely fantastic. If you like toasties come here. They also had amazing looking Brisket as an option for a sandwich. There's outside seating as well. Plenty of room, bike racks etc. The Olive sourdough is incredible honestly never had bread like it

Everything about this place is amazing. Food (esp hot meat sandwiches), coffee, pastries, etc. Would give it 10 stars if I could!

We came here with my wife before noon on Saturday. Unlike many other cafes, they do not bake frozen products but make their own dough. Even though it was before noon, it was very crowded. While drinking our coffees, I noticed that they were making a roast beef sandwich, and I bought it right away. It was great to see them preparing it right in front of us. It was really delicious and explained why so many people were here. The staff are very friendly and always smiling. We will be happy to come here again.

Randomly selected place with family and what a surprise! Nice outdoor playground for youngsters, indoor as well as outdoor seating, decent looking decor and pretty good selection of foods and beverages. What surprised as most were still fairly low prices (considering current situation) and very good portion sizes! Staff kind and helpful. Will be more than happy to come back!

Came with my family 15 in total, most had the carvery, and it was very good plenty of meat and vegetables, if I had to complain it would be the potatoes were a bit hard. All the staff behind the bar and front of house were friendly and helpful. All in all will be back and next time with my dog thank you.

Had a table booked for 13:30 for a family gathering, 6 people. Was greeted with a lovely welcome and shown to a table. We ordered our meals and had a fantastic time. All commented on how good the food was and I believe my steak was one of the best flavoured steaks I’ve had. Next time we are back in Basingstoke we’ll visit again.

My partner & I booked a bottomless brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The chacuterie board was lovely, varied and filling. The cocktails served within the 2 hrs more than matched expectation. It's a great spot, small but a really nice atmosphere. From the moment we were seated to the moment we left, the service was first class, friendly & quick. Highly recommended!

This is the best bottomless brunch I have ever done! The staff here are amazing and they were so quick with serving us drinks. Really made my birthday enjoyable! The food they provide too as part of the brunch is great as well.

It took a few minutes to find the very small entrance (look out for the board outside), but this upstairs bar is worth finding. Nice atmosphere (Friday night) and a friendly greeting. It seems that people book tables, which we hadn't, so we sat in a bit of an odd place near the door, but most of the seating and tables were nice. We only had drinks which were fine. Not a massive selection of beers but different from the normal run of the mill selection. Definitely somewhere to try, and ideal for a drink before the theatre, cinema or a meal out.

I come to Duck and Tipple regularly with friends for their bottomless brunch and it is always so much fun. They have a ping pong table and multiple board games. The monthly quizzes are a lot of fun. Matt, Morgan and the team are brilliant and such a laugh! 2/3 times a year they host our work charity quiz and really put a lot of effort into staff having the best night. Their generosity means a lot and I would highly recommend coming here.

We had a great evening we hadn't all seen each other for ages. The staff were all lovely and friendly. The food was spot on and the cocktails were fab.

Came here for date night with my boyfriend - our waiter (lad with piercings and long dreadlocks) was really lovely and very attentive! The food did take quite a while to come out (completely understandable as the place was packed) but our waiter was very apologetic and offered us a round of drinks on the house - and the food was delicious, absolutely worth the wait :) Shame I only discovered this place right before I'm moving out of the area - otherwise I would definitely be returning!

Such a delight to eat here before going to the Anvil for a show. We had 4 starters to share, fries, a bottle of wine and some sparkling water. I recommend the king prawns, the Asian chicken pieces and the tempura vegetables. All simply delicious, piping hot, quickly served and just the right amount. The staff were excellent and the service was faultless. They were all really lovely.

Yes, been here with my wife and my little boy! Once we arrived at the reception we have been welcoming with smile! Was really busy evening with lots of customers! We been invited to our table and handed over the menus including the Christmas which unfortunately you can't have it if not everyone goes for it, but a la carte was good enough! Quickly we received the high chair and the lovely lady from Poland come over with water and introducing her self. I've seen few managers been running around the place which made you feel looked after! Overall, food and service was really good! Yes, definitely come back for my Cruzcampo! ❤️

My husband took me for lunch here. Food was so tasty, didn't feel rushed, excellent service and very friendly. Will return again for sure.

Big old pub, excellent service from friendly staff. Food portions are big and food is cooked really well by the friendly chef. Highly recommend this pub. We went there for a Sunday roast after walking out of The Crown (awful place). One of us had the nut roast which was delicious. Others had the chicken and beef roasts, puddings were big portions, all food was really good quality.

We Love the Bolton Arms. Great value for money food. Excellent team and it’s a joy to have a local village pub again .

Visited the restaurant here, nice cosy atmosphere here and was surprised at how busy it was on a Monday evening. The service was great. I had the vegan katsu curry which I highly recommend, even as a non-vegetarian, and the sticky toffee pudding too. Only negatives, it was a little cold where we were sitting in the restaurant and the car park was totally dark making it a bit difficult to park. Other than that it was a nice meal!

Our room was absolutely beautiful bed is super comfy , all the staff are friendly food was beautiful and the scenery is incredible we loved our stay and so did our doggy . They even have a doggy food menu which I thought was brilliant . Will definitely be back!

We've just enjoyed a lovely couple of days here. Stayed overnight to meet friends. Perfect location by the river. Great for wildlife & dog walks. The rooms were very comfortable & nicely furnished. Everything was thought of, even down to an iron & ironing board. The toiletries were gorgeous & the showers huge with rain & normal shower heads. Now for the food. It was absolutely delicious with generous portions for a change. We ate in both the restaurant & pub areas. Loved the fairy lights in the restaurant. It looked really beautiful. Would make a great location for a special occasion. Finally the staff were very friendly & the customer service was excellent.

We had a fabulous Sunday lunch, this week, the food was excellent, hot and freshly cooked with lots of fresh veg and lashings of gravy. Absolute top marks and great to see this team back.

So great to see Jimbo and Stevo back at The Crown. Had a great meal this evening. Steve did a wonderful diary and gluten free meal for a fussy member of our group at the last minute without any notice. Such a nice vibe to this Village pub.

When visiting my relatives in Basingstoke, I find the Hatch the best place for a good meal in good surroundings. It's very popular and worth booking in advance. Then there's still the problem of finding a parking space when you get there! The menu is varied and I have no difficulty in trying something new there, should I wish to. Meals are of very good quality and usually delicious. I've always found the staff here very friendly and totally efficient. The Hatch has beautiful gardens and outdoor seating should the weather be good enough. Highly recommended.

Excellent place , highly recommended the food is amazing and the staff were very friendly especially Jojo who served us and was brilliant. Very busy at the weekend so highly recommend to book it in advance. . Great selection of menu and also festival menu two course for 28£ . Will definitely visit again.

Lovely staff but because there were few staff on the service was a bit slow. We weren't in a rush so it was fine. Good food, overpriced drinks - £8.40 for two diet cokes. Good choice of food on the kids menu though and the kids meal had brilliant presentation and was a good size portion. I would come back!
