Turtle Bay is always a great vibe, and I’m find the food and drink never fail to deliver great flavours. I’ve been several times over the years and I have always had an enjoyable visit. My recent visit was good, albeit the service was a bit slow and things did take quite some time. The food however was excellent, and I would highly recommend the Jerk Salmon - it was sensational. The cocktails are great, and if you catch them on 2-4-1 they are a bargain. The Reggae Rum Punch is always a winner. If you’re looking for some flavoursome food and good drinks, Turtle Bay is always a great shout.

Our server Chris was very attentive, extremely polite and happy in his job. Which is lovely to see. He catered to all our needs. He is an asset to turtle bay. Good staff are very hard to come by and he is certainly a worth looking after. The food and drink were perfect 👌🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A place filled with lots of bustles, happy hours with a good selection of cocktails. Sweet corn fritters were excellent but not for those who cannot tolerate spice.

Lovely evening with friends, food was amazing and live jazz music completed the dining experience. fair price for delicious food, would go again definitely worth a visit if you haven't been.

This place was great, went on a date night with the wife, this place was a recommendation from a friend, definitely worth it! Food was great, place is lovely, decor is fantastic. Only down side, which is purely personal it was way too hot (felt like the heating was on full blast) and my wife an I were sat at a table for two basically smack in the middle of the room with booths and bigger tables on both sides, which meant there was non-stop people and servers walking past at a very close proximity. Other than that, it was great!

Went on a Sunday evening for a 30th birthday. Service was brilliant the woman couldn’t have been more professional. The food was outstanding some of the best meats I have ever tasted. Will definitely be coming to taste more of the menu! And that very good cocktail list! Food attached is a mixed izgara

Had a Sunday roast. Yorkshire puddings and roast beef were very good. No gravy with meal or horse radish. Had to ask for gravy and horseradish. Vegetables were very bland and uninspiring. Main course took around 25 mins to arrive. Sat by window which was quite chilly. Starter and dessert very good.

Elegant! Lovely decor, wonderful service, delicious food and a great wine list. We went as a group of 4 for a 2/3 course lunch and there was nothing to fault. It was our first time dining there and we will certainly be back. It was great to have some seasonal game choices on the menu.

Came here on a Friday late lunch after enjoying a day in Winchester. They offer some good 2 and 3 course deals, but we had our heart set on the chateaubriand steak. We ordered this and the baguette with dips to enjoy while waiting for the steak to be cooked. The place is very spacious and nicely laid out, with an open plan kitchen upstairs. Staff here are very good. Our meal was very good paired with a good red wine as well. The only criticism is the mark up on the wine. But this is something that happens everywhere. Overall a brilliant late lunch here🙂

Rather noisy, but that's the way of most restaurants these days. Service excellent. Food very good, although carrot 🥕 too soft. Dessert was slightly disappointing as the description said, "Autumn Still Life", and was just like a painting on the plate with not much to eat.

Popped in with my friend for lunch, and the stable has such a wonderfully cozy atmosphere with lovely staff. Had the Hawaiian Five-Oh and by far the best pizza I have had with such fresh ingredients and homemade dough

Had a festive brunch with the ladies at the Stable Winchester, place is easy to find and was quite hectic. Second floor was quite nice and homey but not too keen on seeing the manager standing right in front of the kitchen staff looking rather stressed the entire time we were there. Rest of the staff were quite attentive and very friendly. Could do with more cocktail options and better mocktails.

We tried the Christmas special- festive full monty and the pig on pillow. The pizza is nice and the crust is crunchy. There are different type of cider as well.

Had an incredible dining experience at this authentic Thai restaurant! We arrived without a reservation on a busy Sunday evening and were quickly accommodated at the bar. In just five minutes, we were seated at our table, ready to dive into the menu. We started with refreshing drinks, followed by a flavorful feast of tom yum prawn soup, rich red Thai beef curry, and perfectly grilled chicken satay. Each dish arrived promptly and tasted like it was straight from the streets of Phuket, which was a delightful treat. We topped off our meal with the divine mango sticky rice, a must-try! The service was outstanding, making us feel welcome and attended to throughout our visit. I highly recommend this gem to anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine. Whether you're familiar with Thai food or eager to try something new, you're in for a fantastic experience. Can't wait to come back!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by some very friendly staff, who throughout the meal were brilliant. We were really impressed about how many staff they were on the floor, the service worked really well. We decided to have the Bangkok banquet, which was absolutely delicious. The variety of tastes and textures were brilliant, and the elements of the meal that contained fish were really good. The soup was absolutely brilliant, and the level of spice was spot-on. Probably the most spicy aspect of the meal. The highlight of the meal for us was the Seabass and the trout both of which were beautifully cooked and were delicious. When the first course came out, they had accidentally substituted the squid for chicken, but when pointed out they very kindly brought out the squid as an after dish. Very pleased we mentioned this as the squid was brilliant. Every dish had a unique flavour which I would highly recommend. If you’re in Winchester, try out this restaurant.

The food was incredibly delicious. We ordered the menu for two, and the portions were so generous that we had to take some home, as we couldn't finish everything. However, it was so tasty that leaving any behind was hard. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere, and the service was fantastic—truly exceptional and rare to find.

Great steak restaurant. Lovely staff and great fresh produce. Good wine selection and great steaks 🙏 Great for larger groups too

We visited the Porterhouse for our mother's 80th birthday and had a brilliant meal. The staff and management couldn't have been more helpful and attentive, including setting up balloons and organising the birthday cake (which we were permitted to provide ourselves with no issue that it would mean no dessert orders!). The steaks were perfectly cooked, starters and sides all great (probably the best Steak Tartare I've ever had) and the chips were insanely crispy! Easily the best place to eat Steak in Winchester.

Had a lovely meal at The Old Forge last night with family. Food was great all really well prepared and great flavours. We all a great time. Service was excellent from Rosie who was very kind and had a laugh with us. Starters was a 3 for £15 of small plates and a bread board. Beef croquettes wear super flavourful and the sweet potato hummus was amazing. Chicken burger in my picture was very juicy and the chili Jam and coleslaw inside tasted great. Trio of deserts was shared between three portions were bigger than we expected and was presented really well. It's on the more expensive side for a pub but food is definitely worth it.

I live local but had never heard of the old forge before. I came here for my Christmas work do and I loved it. Had such a festive vibe. The food was amazing along with the service. I have recommended to family and friends since then and today visited again. Again the food, service and atmosphere fabulous. They do not rush you between courses either like some places do. I recommend the scallops and the pork belly. I definitely will be coming again.

Greeted with a smile. The food was perfect, and hospitality matched! I recommend trying the house blend coffee, it’s rocket fuel for the morning. Then try something from the brunch menu, it all good and everything has a unique twist on the norm. Occasionally the menu changes with the seasons, the changes are tasty, gives lots of variety for regulars.

A friend of mine and I visited for the first time this past weekend. Two coffees (one was a Cappuccino) and two pain au chocolat. The latter were one of the best we've ever had (and I have lived in France). Compliments were given to the chef.

The menu is thoughtfully designed, with a focus on fresh ingredients and creative dishes that balance traditional flavours with a modern touch. A Taste of Japan in Winchester – Kyoto Kitchen I had heard about Kyoto Kitchen, and while I was in the area, I thought it would be a great opportunity to check it out! My daughter and I managed to book a table on the same day, which was relatively easy despite not being locals. Entering through the hotel, we passed by the bar area before stepping into the main dining space. The atmosphere was both summery and refined, with a unique layout. There was only one central pathway, giving the impression of entering a grand hall, almost like a castle. The tables were arranged on either side, and at the heart of the room stood a striking center piece—a large kimono - its presence commanding attention like a king in a courtroom. To my surprise, there was another dining area designed in the style of a traditional Japanese sushi bar, where guests could watch the chefs prepare fresh sushi. The delicate fabric dividers between the rooms reminded me of Japan, adding to the authenticity of the experience. I was seated in the banquet area, opposite a stunning vegetable art display spanning the entire wall. It created an incredible blend of indoor and outdoor elements, stimulating the senses in an unexpected way. For my meal, I ordered the Winchester Sushi Rolls, as recommended by the waiter. This dish featured fresh salmon, mango, cucumber, and seaweed, topped with goji berries and a horseradish sauce. The combination was delicate yet flavorful—refreshing with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice. I also had Wagyu Gyoza, garnished with edible flowers, which was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. The service was excellent, and the entire experience truly transported me to Japan. Winchester is fortunate to have such a gem of a restaurant, and I hope they continue to support their talented chefs. This is a must-visit for sushi lovers and anyone looking for an authentic Japanese dining experience.

My daughter took me here for my 60th birthday present. On arrival the restaurant knew it had been my birthday a few weeks ago, but still wished me happy birthday. There were four of us eating and we all chose the gourmet set menu. The menus are being changed Monday so they will have new names. They asked us about food allergies. Two of us are gluten free and to complicate things I can't eat crustaceans. This was no problem to them and they adapted the food when ever necessary. The food was exceptional and the waiters took time to explain exactly how each dish had been prepared and what the ingredients were. The food came at a nice pace. When we had our penultimate dish, the Winchester Roll, they served this with fresh wasabi. The flavour of this was fantastic. I would certainly come back and eat here again. I really want to try their vegan set menu next time.

A lovely situated town centre restaurant. A great menu with a good selection, mainly fish (as you would expect). The food was excellent as was the service. Would highly recommend,

The restaurant is nicely laid out, being open plan, with tables are functional and not flashy and are reasonably well spaced apart. The kitchen is also an integral part of the restaurant, providing fabulous aromas to add to the experience. The menu is not extensive, which to my mind is a good thing. As expected, all of the dishes were nicely presented, with the hot dishes cooked perfectly. The oysters were very fresh and habeen shucked just prior to serving. I ordered the shellfish ragoût for my main dish, which was delicious. The service is as one would expect from a high-end restaurant - our server was really polite and efficient. This wasn't a cheap night out, but I was very happy to pay a premium price and the 12.5% service charge for top-quality food and the attentive staff.

My friend took me here for lunch today and it was such a wonderful surprise and a fabulous food experience. We chose the house white wine - which was beautiful - and then I chose the shellfish linguine ragu. It was beautifully made and so tasty. My friend chose Oysters Pernod and then the Mussels - which he throughly enjoyed. For desert, we shared the Winchester Pudding - which was sumptuous and we could happily have eaten more, only we were full. The service from the staff was fantastic and they added to the whole experience. The decor was relaxed and inviting and the atmosphere was lovely and chilled. It was such a lovely experience and I happily paid the optional service charge. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal and experience. 😊
