High recommend if you what to taste Thai food and the location is enchanting. The waitress was so lovely. She moved us to a table near the fireplace to have lunch. We loved it

I went with 2 friends and their puppy, for a meal. What a total gem of a pub. It was such a lovely cosy pub and the Thai food was beautiful. They go often, as they enjoy it there, and I can see why. The staff are so friendly and helpful too, which made it even more enjoyable. We had 3 starters to share between us, 3 mains, 3 drinks and a nibbles and it came to just under £100 for the 3 of us. So we thought that was pretty good.

Amazing pub! Even in new ownership they've still kept it a fantastic pub to visit! Warm homely atmosphere, very friendly and very helpful bar staff. I ordered a salmon puree started followed by the beer battered fish and chips and both were delicious! Met the owner who's also very friendly and welcoming! 5 star experience from start to finish!

Got here too late to try the food (kitchen closes at 3pm on a Sunday) decent beer tho, Adnam’s Ghost Ship on tap. Lovely beer garden and some decent 80s hair rock pumping out of the speakers, RAD 🤘

Friendly owners that explained to us when we came in they were a little short handed. We appreciated knowing up front and were fine with it. We had a beer and great conversation with a gentleman cyclist. The food was fantastic!

Lovely garden, usually friendly staff (but not always, there's quite a high turnover, even for a bar), beer line always kept fresh. Every bit of food I've had here (on 3 occasions has been bad but for drinks it's great.

A really lovely pub on the river with a fair bit going for it. Food is decent, but can be a bit hit and miss sometimes. Good selection of drinks available and some decent specials. Can be a little noisy sometimes, but on the whole a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The view of the river, the lovely design of the pub and the friendly service are definitely top notch.

We had a lovely afternoon here. The food was wonderful, except the roast potatoes were a little underdone, but they made too many and gave us a couple of bowls for free, and they were lovely and crispy! We love the 'pick the music' machine upstairs, as well as the pool tables and darts. Pete and his team were amazing, couldn't have asked for more wonderful people.

christmas lunch for 3 at 12 45. The food two courses was excellent , turkey dinner spot on and very nice Xmas Pud with custard. Service was prompt and friendly but not rushed so we spent a very pleasant 2 hours with coffee to finish, the table decorations gave it that extra touch. 12 99 a very reasonable price

I was frantically ringing around trying to find somewhere to have a wake for my mum. (only a couple of days before the funeral) I rang the Anton Arms and they said "yes sure we'll set a side a room for you", which was great, I originally said about 14 people but it ended up being about 25 people. The staff were brilliant, we had drinks, sharing platters, cheesy chips, nachos etc, also a few people had pie and chips. Came to under £250. Thankyou so much to the staff for taking the stress out of my day.

Bit of a chain pub but nice decor and ambiance. Good range of drinks and good service. Lots of people eating and with a large area reserved it makes it less easy for drinkers. But I would definitely go back.

First time we arrived on a Sunday and really enjoyed the food! The pub is clean with a lot of open space and dog friendly. Brownie and ice cream itself tasted delicious ! Although there were few things we did not like it as much, the food overall was well presented as well as the table was laid out nicely. We will come again soon.

Great customer service, quick service and lovely food. It has a lovely garden which has a children's climbing frame, two plastic globes in which you can stand and smoke in if it's raining and also a large covered decking area. The Wkye Down is family and dog friendly and has a good atmosphere. There is a games room consisting of two pool tables. Myself and family visited Sunday afternoon for a carvery and was pleasantly surprised with all the trimmings they had to offer. Will certainly be returning.

We recently had our wedding reception at Wyke Down and it was amazing. Large venue with very helpful staff who just wanted to make our day special. Barbecue selection was excellent with vegetarian options and everyone enjoyed the food. Thank you so much for making our wedding day so enjoyable, hassle free and truly a day to remember. Thoroughly recommended ❤️

9 of us just had our Xmas party here Would definitely be back The service .. The food was great infact I would say excellent, Food was hot ,tasty and well presented lovely to have family service of veg .. help yourself .Portions were good from starter to pudding.. so much so we were so full we had trouble Dancing to the Disco ! Just a last minute decision to pop in for food and drink. Lovely welcome and great eye contact on arrival. We wandered round looking at variety of pictures on the many walls, while waiting for food. Were encouraged to explore and explained by Tracey about different events that take place. Visited this establishment with my friend last Friday on his recommendation being a local. A lovely lady assisted us from the car as my friend has mobility issues, which was thoughtful of her. The best fish'n'chips I've ever had the pleasure of eating! The food is awesome here. Last time I opted for the Mac & Cheese... and that was equally delicious! Top marks to the chef!! Staff are welcoming, and it's a lovely place to spend a few hours with friends & family. Thank you. :)

Popped in for dinner as we passed it while away for a few days and glad we did. Tracy checked us in who was welcoming, friendly and showed us to our table. We sat in the dog friendly area as we had our rescue dog Ruby with us, they even serve up a little furry friends menu. Massive open fire which i bet is just amazing as the weather gets cooler. Although in a dog friendly area, we didn't feel separated from the rest of the pub either, The food and service were amazing thank you. They also have a little snug area for just drinks and somewhere to relax after your meal. Very cosy pub and 100% recommended if you are in the area. Without doubt the best roast pork dinner I have had in my 63 years on this earth. The pork just melted in your mouth. Lots of roast potatoes. Glazed carrots , parsnips , broccoli, lovely Yorkshire pudding, pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese and gravy. So filling only had room for one pint of hobgoblin and no room for desserts which also all sounded so yummy. Lovely happy friendly staff made Sunday lunch so enjoyable. Highly recommend plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. Lots of parking including disabled spots available. Would definitely go again.

Sunday lunch was good value and all those in our party felt all roast meats were melt in the mouth. Only two negatives a) two of our party had to interrupt their meal three times so that people could access other tables or the door. B) no deserts!!!

We popped in from the street seeing that it was a typical English proper pub, we were made so very welcome by Lorraine, we felt at home, the locals were engaging, the drinks delicious and a fair price, there was good banter and we stayed much longer that we planned to. We were invited to join a friend for Sunday lunch, hadn't been before. Pub looks a bit unprepossessing on first impressions, but the staff were friendly and our roast meal was delicious, as was dessert. Reasonably priced and we will definitely return! 😊

Love this pub. You can go out to villages and pop into a pub and have an over priced beer with gastro pub pretence. Or you can come to the eagle a very welcoming old school village pub. Good food and good character.

I stopped to use the EV charging point in the car park but went in to use the loo. Unfortunately it was quite late and the coffee machine had been turned off but the staff were happy to let me sit and watch the football.

Often eat here with a friend, nice place to relax. Today (13/2/25) was no exception. Lovely food, well cooked and very tasty. The bar staff were top notch, excellent service. A very enjoyable lunch. We'll be back soon.

Lovely welcome on arrival. Food was ordered and served quickly. It was all very hot and all requests were no problem at all. We have a child with food requirements and it was not a problem at all. The only thing was we sent a steak back, although beautifully cooked we asked for medium / well done but it arrived rare. The issue was resolved very quickly so no complaints at all. Will visit again.

The food was unbelievably delicious and the lemonade tasted like they made it themselves The gents toilet was stinky but the chairs were clean and also very very very very comfortable There was also the sculpture you can see in this table One side of the restaurant was very loud and the other side was quiet but the side was half forgotten The tables were a bit old but all is good 0 to 10 for the kids ( all dishes) 0 to 20 for adults ( all dishes). Ps: i just sat on the chair and just used the table They even provide good stuff The staff is very friendly

We had very nice mid-week meals here. The atmosphere was nice, not too busy, but not quiet or stale and the setting was all very nice, clean and tables available. We had the whitebait and sticky chicken starters, with a scampi and pie and mash for main. We were served by Lydia, who was confident, polite, knowledgeable and very attentive. She was very helpful, making our choices and decisions easy. The food was all very nice, less the mash potato, which looked like it had been sitting a while in a pot or under a heat lamp, but I was hungry and couldn't be bothered with sending it back and waiting for another meal, and my colleague was already eating too. It was a very nice visit and I'd certainly go again.
