From walking in to leaving felt really welcoming and very friendly staff, fantastic food! Great service! We will be back, I even gave the waitress a nice tip (I don't normally tip) a fantastic place,

Chips were like triple cooked ones, cod was excellent, daughter liked chicken bites. Portions were generous. Diet Coke was Cocolish

Perfect! Having just moved close by, we couldn't be more happy with our new 'local'. Good beer, great food, atmosphere and very friendly landlady and staff. We had a great evening and will be happy to be back, and again, and again, and again...

Brilliant new landlords! Went for Sunday lunch to see how the reopening of the pub had been, was pretty busy and unfortunately didn’t think to book but they managed to squeeze us in!! Had the pork roast, I think they called it porchetta, brilliant. Great food and great offers on ale and cider! Will be going back more regularly!

Been a long time fan of The Hampshire Bowman and can comfortably say that the new owners have kept the rural independent feel whilst introducing a fresh and vibrant character to the place. The ales are crisp and dogs welcome. My only tip: call ahead! Even weekdays can be surprising busy so best to give them a call.

Great to see the Bowman open and fully functional once again. Fantastic friendly and attentive staff. Clutter free and now very clean. Improved range of beers particularly some from the Flower Pots. Outstanding improvements across the board except the food. Early days but there are no specials on the board, always a highlight of the old regime. The base menu is limited and similar to many average pubs put pricing is on the high side. I went for the safe option of a burger and chips £17. Dry and limited in flavour. Disappointing. I love the Bowman and will return. I won’t try the burger again but will try to find something that appeals. I hope they address the food issue otherwise it will simply be a stop off on a walk. That would be a shame.

Fantastic country pub with amazing staff and great food, warm fires and a real friendly feel. very dog friendly as well, after a hard days beating in the rain and wind the dogs laid by the fire and the Landlady even bought a bed over for them. Food was outstanding my recommendation would be the venison scotch eggs perfectly cooked and delicious, followed by a fab pie! Heaven!!

Amazing roast dinner. Best I’ve had out in ages! Piping hot, tasty and plentiful. Good ambiance, warm, great selection of beers and friendly and attentive staff. Won’t hesitate to recommend and can’t wait to come back!

We had a delicious evening meal. Both gluten-free. The mushy peas which accompanied my GF fish and chips, was beautifully seasoned. And my husband's GF crumble was the best he'd tasted (I'm never making crumble for him again LOL). And he said his homemade burger was exceptional. The lovely landlady couldn't have been friendlier either.

A splendid day fishing on Park Stream. John O’ Gaunt was the perfect pub lunch. A selection of fine ales, selling fishing flies behind the bar, and outstanding, friendly service. The pie of the day I had was beef and blue cheese, unlike many places that may serve dishes with blue cheese, the flavour was perfectly balanced and fuelled the afternoon’s endeavours to catch a trout.

Took both sets of parents for afternoon tea on Christmas eve. Amazing place, great service, food and great prices. Definitely going back.

A lovely lunch with friends at the Montfort Restaurant. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, including lighter bites and a variety options to suit dietary requirements such as gluten free and vegan. Good service and overall an enjoyable afternoon.

Started with cauliflower soup which was beautifully rich and silky, and served with little roasted and pickled pieces of cauliflower and golden raisins. main was the chalk stream trout dish. Local fish served with a take on Bombay Potatoes, a little smoked trout samosa that was crispy and very tasty and a light curried sauce. Food was beautifully presented and service was excellent. Would highly recommend.

We had a delicious Sunday meal here. Slow roast rib of beef and vegetables. Seasonal fruits crumble to follow. Unfortunately, we had eaten too much already. So we were allowed to take it away with us to enjoy later. The staff were very polite and friendly. And we are looking forward to a return visit very soon🤞. Thank you💐

I stopped off here with little dog to break up the journey, extremely dog friendly, great selection of no alcohol beers including Guinness. Very quaint and old pub with lots of spaces and friendly staff. I was in between meals so only wanted a snack; the mini steak and ale pie was delicious and the mini cottage brochettes out of this world !!

Perfectly cooked food, perfect atmosphere.. We've been dining here for 30 years plus and it is our favourite venue to relax, unwind and enjoy..always great food.. We will continue our visits.. Thank you Steve and all the happy staff who personally showed compassion to me during my fight with cancer..much love and respect.. Greg and Carla xx

We had a breakfast today with my husband .Everything was lovely. Hannah was so friendly and welcomed us very warmly. Really impressed by the servise.

5 star food, 5 star location, 2-3 star restaurant service. Fantastic venue, food was excellent and a great choice of wine. Service was friendly but fairly incompetent. I think we had 3 waiters/waitress in total. The first one couldn't explain what the lamb dish was (I think she was very junior, and shouldn't have been left alone). A very friendly second waitress helped us with our choice. The wine waiter made quite a hash of opening a very nice (and expensive) bottle of wine - see photo. We had to ask for water, and again when it needed topping up. At the end we were left waiting for quite some time with no staff in sight anywhere. Anyway the food was excellent - I had a very tasty lobster ravioli followed by a lamb dish with pastry. All very well presented and great tasting. Desserts were lovely too although one was spoiled by having clingfilm in it, though they dropped the charge from that. Would definitely go back, the venue is beautiful, wonderfully decorated and a great view out to sea. Hope the staff are carefully nurtured to become fully competent, it would definitely take the place to 5 stars.

Called in for a late lunch. We enjoyed a large pizza between us and a very tasty desert, plus drinks. It's a little bit pricey compared to other places. The restaurants location with the wonderful views, a quality up market restaurant with a great chef anf kitchen, kind efficient staff, make this a wonderful place to go for a special occasion or just because...

Had a celebration meal with family on Christmas Eve. We booked last minute so were out in the tented area which was very pretty and warm enough with the heaters. It was busy and had a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Loved the menu and every dish was beautifully presented. You could pay a lot more for similar in other places. Service was slower paced but we never felt ignored, we like to chat and take our time so it suited us. Felt relaxed but still somewhere you could dress up for an occasion. We enjoyed ourselves so much we were the last to leave!

So normally I only ever have cause to write bad reviews but this is an absolute pleasure to write a good review. So we booked to stay here for a couple of nights whilst visiting some friends on the area. Straight off on arrival the staff were polite and friendly. They took the time to talk to us, ask where we had come from, how was thw journey etc. We were shown to our room and it was lovely. Nice and clean, fresh towels and bed linen and it just felt very homely. We were tired after our journey so didn't make use of the pub when we arrived. The next day our friends came to visit is and we had lunch in the pub. The staff could not have been more helpful and courteous with all our orders, especially making recommendations from the menu. Our friends had also bought their dog with them and the staff bought a bowl of water over without us even asking for it. Both the food and drinks were lovely and very reasonably priced. On the day of our departure we almost felt sad to leave as the staff bid us farewell. Never in my time travelling have I ever stayed anywhere so warm and inviting. Will definately be staying here again when visiting the area

Amazing hotel! Service was the absolute best. Paul made us feel at home the minute we got there, got recommended by good friend Ash. Food here was delicious and the service was really quick. The array of options on tap were phenomenal. The room was stunning inside the interior really nice and such a comfy bed. Would definitely be staying here again. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Stayed here for a night a few days ago after travelling back from a hard day at work, my car broke down and was looking around for places to stay. After my phone died I walked around and saw this place. I walked in (after seeing how nice it looked on the outside) and spoke to someone about getting a room. They managed to sort me out a room, and well what can I say about it?? It was the best, well presented and cleanest room I’ve ever stayed in, beds were comfy and I had the best nights sleep I think I’ve had in a while. Before I went to sleep I went down and had some food, and oh my god, the food was excellent. Again I’ve stayed in so many hotels over the past year, but this one tops the lot. The staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough for me. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you for a lovely stay. Top class service and very friendly staff

Didn’t stay in the room - only had a meal. A little pricey, but great quality and excellent service. The starter was gravelllax and consisted of a generous portion of flavoured salmon; simply delicious! The burger was equally tasty - highly recommend

What a perfect stay we had. Perfectly located between Winchester and Salisbury in the lovely little town of Stockbridge. Our room, and bathroom were recently renovated and really comfortable . We had a delicious evening meal in the bar and a good breakfast the next morning. A huge thanks to the staff for looking after us so warmly. Highly recommend this hotel.

Just back from a well needed break at The Grosvenor after a recommendation from friends and can say it was a very good tip! During our stay we found the hotel very peaceful, we opted for a top floor room and it was beautifully decorated and the bed very luxurious. The whole interior of the hotel is stunning, especially the dining and bar areas. The staff are so friendly and very willing to assist. The food was good, perhaps a little expensive for the portion size, however the breakfast included was plentiful. I also had a message with Gio which was amazing and we loved Stockbridge which had plentiful amenities and places to eat and drink. Overall it was fantastic value for money especially with our half bottle of champagne included in the Mr & Mrs Smith package.

We have been for dinner here before but this was the first time we stayed as well. The room we had was a good size, quiet, beautifully decorated and the bed super comfortable. The bathroom looked brand new, it was absolutely spotless and with a great shower. Dinner was really excellent! I had the beetroot salad followed by trout which were both delicious. My partner had a meze starter and vegetarian red curry which was one of the best I have tasted! The place has a great atmosphere and the service excellent .. overall, highly recommended!

We had a small group of friends enjoying a Christmas menu. We pre-ordered the main course from across the menu and ordered starters and puddings during the meal. Wide selection of wines beers and soft drinks. Excellent food Terrific service Very enjoyable pub restaurant. And the cost for 8 was very reasonable worked out at £50 per person incoming all drinks and three courses. Thanks for making our meal just right.

First time visited here. Lovely menu choice, I had the Thai red curry it was delicious as was the dessert of Hazlenut chocolate tart. Staff were extremely courteous snd polite.will definitely be coming back and recommending you to friends and family.
