We absolutely Love @cucinadeisapori. The best restaurant in town, amazing cuisine and the best wine to complement the food. The outdoor garden makes you feel like you're in a Mediterranean setting. Such a welcoming and attentive team of people who want you to relax and enjoy your dining experience. X

Stumbled across here by chance and so glad we did, a warm welcome and a warm restaurant on a chilly day. Staff were attentive and genuinely friendly and the food was wonderful. Definitely will return the next time we venture to Alton.

We came in to dine in the Gurkha Restaurant, as it was our first time trying Nepalese food. It was me and my wife 12 year anniversary. I must say it was completely different to other indian restaurants we tried. It was not oily or greasy at all. The flavours were perfectly infused with the correct amount of masala and heat. Me and my partner throughly enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They even gave us a free dessert for our special night. What's more interesting is they host weekly event on their Facebook page. Thank you so much Fewa Inn staff for the warm hospitality.

From entering the restaurant to leaving everything was perfect. The service was first class, friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. The food was superb. The pilau rice was proper pilau rice with infused spices instead of the usual steamed rice with dots of food colouring. The Gurkha curry was a delight with layer upon layer of spicy flavours. The highlight of the menu for me were the momo starters. A perfect marriage of spicy mince, delicately steamed dough and a spicy dip. We will return!

Really nice food. Busy night so a touch noisy. May have give 5/5 if their madras was similar temp as others I’d had. Bit on the hot side but nice.

A super local gem of a restaurant. I have been lucky enough to visit Nepal and sample the amazing food there first hand, this place feels like I am back there. Lovely staff, nice atmosphere and a real favourite of ours now.

We arrived without a table booking on a very busy Sunday, with 3 dogs in tow. They managed to offer us a lovely outdoor, heated seating area, so we could have lunch. Portion sizes were enormous (the dogs got the leftovers), food was delicious and served nice and hot. There was atleast 3 choices of meat on offer for the Sunday roast, along with a great choice of other mains. Typical gastro pub pricing, around £15-24 per main for adults. Whilst we were there 4 horse riders turned up for hot chocolate and chips, and the landlord bought carrots out for the horses. So definitely dog & horse friendly.

Out of the way place, but so so pretty esp the beer garden. Went for the chalk water trout was not disappointed & will be coming back again soon!. Unfortunately, it was a Monday & service was quite slow, hence the 4 stars. I'm going to go for a weekend brunch next time in the near future to see if service is different. Cocktails were great, too!. Would recommend & will go again. TO ADD been a few times since my initial review. They're recruiting if anyone's looking for a job. There were more staff, hence my rating going from 4-5. The food is delicious & I'm trying to work myself through it all. I had the venison pie of the day from the special's menu. We came here last night and we absolutely loved it! We had the shared Camembert to start off with which was delicious! I then had the sausages and mash which was amazing as well. Such a lovely cosy pub to go too! Would definitely love to come back and recommend ☺️

Came back to the Deers Hut to celebrate my husband's birthday we have been several times in the last few months. The meal was lovely as always. But we did feel we were almost forgotten once we had our main , and by the time anyone came back to ask us what we wanted for pudding we changed our mind and just had a coffee . Which we ended up ordering at the bar . I do appreciate being a Sunday they were busy . But we were definitely forgotten.

Had a great Sunday Roast here. My wife and I had the Nut Roast which was superb. Nice and moist etc. and the whole meal was very pleasant. Great friendly attentive staff all round too. Would happily return.

We visited for the first time as we were in the area and looking for a main meal. There wasn't many reviews on this pub so we took a punt. First thoughts were great choice of food on the menu, so many delicious meals to choose from and great selection for the kids. The food was fantastic! We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Also they had a bookshelf with games and colouring for the kids which is a great touch. At first we commented how nice it was to have fresh water put on the table without asking, however they added £3 onto the bill at the end for the water which is wrong, considering we didn't realise or get told this. That is the reason for the 4* and not 5. And also the fact dogs are allowed and a breed I am severely allergic to was sat on the table next to us, so we did have to hurry our food down to leave. Also we did say thank you and bye to the (what I assume is the landlady) and we were ignored.

We stopped for lunch in this pleasant village from our walk of the local hills. A muddy day but staff were ok with us keeping our boots on! Large bar with two adjacent dining rooms and lots of original features. Just two cask ales on offer the day we visited...both sampled and were in excellent condition and well served by friendly staff. Food was excellent and delivered promptly. Prices typical of the area. Worth coming back ... Perhaps when it's less muddy.

We held a wake here and were really impressed. The buffet food was lovely, everyone was very helpful and the venue was a great place for guests to relax and mingle. The pub garden was also lovely on a rare sunny day in March.

Lovely pub. Huge outdoor area with seating area, play area and playing field. The waiter was really nice, managing quite a busy lunchtime mainly alone. We ordered the sourdough baguettes which were well presented and came with a lovely side salad and chips. My only grumble was that it was quite cold in the building and I ate with my coat on.

Had a tasty meal on a quiet Saturday lunchtime. Reasonable choice of menu but the specials were good selection and we had tenderloin pork in a mushroom sauce. Friendly staff. Reasonable price.

Me and my partner stopped in here on Saturday at 12:30ish for a bite to eat, and what a gem we found. The people were lovely, it was decorated very well and the food was delicious and very filling. We had a sandwich and chips each plus the salad that comes with a sandwich and we were both very full and happy. It was a lucky dip as we were driving home but we both wished it was closer to our house as we would easily re visit every month. Our small dog was kept on his lead and sat under our table, it’s so cozy that it’s easy to access outdoor space if they need it.

Nice pub. Food was good, but just a little more garnish on the plate would cheer it up a bit. I had the veggie beetburger which was tasty.

Hard to find a music venue but these guys are not only putting on live bands on Saturday nights but allowing amateur bands to practice on Wednesdays too . Staff are excellent , friendly and kind . Dogs are welcome and it has two pool tables and darts boards . Can't wait to see a menu when they start serving food .

warning note at end!: Came here for an engagement party tonight, the service for drinks was great , the band was also very good! ... however the slab at the entrance was loose and nearly made me fall into the carpark ... BEWARE of this , please fix ASAP!!!!

Had a great night this Saturday. Enjoyed the live entertainment (the Ghost notes) thoroughly. Great pub and so happy there’s live music to enjoy amongst a good selection of drinks :)

Previous visits were disappointing, but we thought we'd give it another go as it's under new ownership. Not disappointed the food and service were excellent. Really interesting and innovative menu, beautifully cooked. We'll definitely be back soon.

A very pleasant modern country pub that combines a classic pub decor with a large neo-minimalist conservatory. The food was excellent. I had a beef burger with pulled pork. This burger combines a juicy beef patty with tender, smoky pulled pork glazed in tangy sauce. Nestled in a toasted brioche bun with crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, each bite bursts with rich, savory flavor and perfect texture. Perhaps there were too many pickles though. They could improve the selection of beer, as I found the choice lacking, and there was no beer I was truly happy with, especially for the extortionate prices . Hence the 4 star. They are dog friendly, tails wagged in every corner. Making everyone feel happy. Overall, worth a visit.

Called in at The Hanger while walking in the area and looking for somewhere to stop in with our dogs Immediately upon arriving we were made to feel welcomed, reassured that our dogs (although a little mucky) were welcome, and shown to a seat in the bar area. Our drink orders were taken immediately and food menus supplied. The waitress was the perfect balance of attentive without being overbearing and seemed to know the menu very well, offering her recommendations when we were unsure. The food was absolutely incredible, both myself and my Mum had the soup of the day (nettle and potato) and I'd be hard pressed to think of a soup I've had out that's nicer. I then had the spectacular steak and ale pie, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Definitely worth calling in on the way past, and we will be coming again (even if it means travelling to do so)

Would absolutely recommend the Hanger for Sunday lunch. I had the beef and it was genuinely the best roast dinner I’ve ever had. My partner had the roast chicken and mum had the pork which were both also incredible. Definitely recommend the cauliflower cheese, probably worth getting a portion per person, I could’ve eaten my body weight in the stuff. The atmosphere was lovely, we booked for 1pm and it was a little quiet but still really nice. By the time we left the car park was full so probably worth booking earlier as I don’t know the area well but couldn’t see many other options parking wise when the car park was full.

If you are thinking about eating here consider this your sign to book and go immediately! Tonight my husband, daughter and I visited for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! We shared a pork belly and a halloumi starter. Now when I tell you the pork belly was one of the most amazing things I've eaten that's the understatement of the century it was insanely good! The halloumi was good too but the pork belly was just sheer perfection! Having finished our starters we were excited for our main course. My husband had the full rack of ribs and sweet potato fries, I had the half rack of ribs and truffle and parmigiana chips and my daughter had the popcorn chicken and chips (apologies for the half eaten meals pics for the mains but it looked so good we tucked in straight away!). The meat melted off the ribs and tasted soooooo good. My daughter and I finally finished off sharing a sticky toffee pudding and ice cream which was also divine. We've decided that this will now be our go to for any birthday or big celebration! It's more expensive than your every day pub dinner but the food is of a completely different standard way above that of a pub and honestly was worth every single penny! Note to the chef thank you so much for the fantastic food! To the wonderful waitress who kindly poured my daughters lemonade in a gin glass with ice, Strawberries and lemon so it looked like my gin you are a gem. You were so kind and welcoming and are a credit to the restaurant. Heavens kitchen it was an absolute pleasure 🙏🏼 thank you so much and I look forward to our next visit already! Notes for anyone visiting - they have tables outside the back (which have umbrellas to provide shade) as well as inside. There isn't much off road parking opposite but there are plenty of car parks within a short walking distance of the restaurant. The staff were super accommodating for my 8 year old daughter and the kids Menu consists of 4 main options and puddings so plenty of choice although the starters or sides would also work if you wanted to create something different!

Loved it. We had a very tasty breakfast, exactly what I need it in a Tuesday 😁. Totally recomand it.

Met friends for Sunday here today. Fabulous roast and despite it being later 14.30 it was clear everything was freshly prepared. Beautiful rare roast beef, crispy roast potatoes and perfectly cooked veg. Cauliflower cheese was pricey but definitely worth it. Service was excellent, a small army - all helpful and cheery. Now feeling full and content!!

Beautiful village with walks by the pub. The fillet medallions were succulent and delicious, accompanied by fine green beans, with almonds (this was a fair portion that could be shared) and chips. Others enjoyed their food, venison, and cheeseburgers.

Had lunch at this lovely country pub - a real pleasure. The cod fillet with mushrooms and roast chicken sauce was absolutely amazing. Beautifully cooked and presented. Great beer too. No hesitation, 5*

Note this review is not about the hotel as I didn’t stay, just about the pub. It’s a pitch-perfect pub selling well-kept real ales. The menu is excellent, well priced and beautifully cooked. Just the place to head for on a walk. Will be back.

Enjoyed lunch yesterday. Fantastic food. Best fish and chips ever ! Fresh , hot and very tasty. Lovely warm and cosy with the log fire on. Great to sit in there after a walk in the village. Friendly bar staff. Excellent service. Must visit again soon.

We had our company Christmas meal at the White Hart last night, 24 people. The food was incredible and we didn't have to wait long for them to serve everyone together. The staff were all so friendly and attentive, making sure everyone was ok for drinks between courses and anything else we might need. The organisation before the night was fantastic, great communication and very friendly - Thank you Stephanie!

Rory and Rae provided great service and were extremely friendly. The ribs were absolutely delectable and would love to have them again. Both the service and the food could not be better and will be highly recommending this pub to my friends and family. Please if you have the chance come to this pub

Went there for Sunday lunch. Good food, if a bit pricey. The serving staff were excellent but the wait for our main courses was too long. One minor complaint... Put pound signs against your prices or next time I'll try and pay in Rand or Roubles.
