I had a really enjoyable brunch/lunch at Dill - great food, polite staff and a lovely, chilled atmosphere. I highly recommend the ham hock hash! 🤩

Stopped for lunch after a walk. Great food, especially the dhaal and ham hock. Loved the Ten Tun Tap house beer from over the road. Will come back soon to try the burgers!

I stopped at dill on a Saturday afternoon with some friends for lunch and a catch up. It’s in a great position in central Alton and is in a beautiful old character building. It was bright, modern and clean inside, and there were plenty of tables - which is good as it’s a popular place. The menu has plenty of options and it was difficult to choose what I fancied as it all sounded so good! I settled on their chicken burger which came with fries and coleslaw. It was absolutely delicious, and the portion was very generous too. The service was friendly and efficient, and overall we had a fantastic lunch. I will definitely return again when visiting Alton, and I would highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere nice for breakfast or lunch.

What a little gem in Alton! We had a fantastic time visiting dill. We were very late to our reservation due to traffic and the staff were very understanding, which we appreciated. The atmosphere was very relaxing. We had the tomato and mozzarella sourdough special, the hog father (pork belly burger) special and the sweet corn fritters. We very much enjoyed everything!

Best roast! I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Yew Tree in Aylesford, near Hampshire, and I must say, it was one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had. This charming pub excels in every aspect, from the warm, welcoming atmosphere to the truly outstanding food. The highlight, of course, was the roast dinner. The variety of meats on offer—chicken, lamb, and beef—ensures there’s something for everyone. I chose the lamb, which was tender, perfectly cooked, and served in a generous portion, far exceeding my expectations. The inclusion of sprouts, often overlooked in many roasts, was a delightful touch and prepared to perfection. The free cauliflower cheese was the cherry on top, adding a creamy, cheesy element to the meal without an additional charge—a rare and appreciated bonus. What sets The Yew Tree apart is the excellent balance of quality and quantity. Each plate is hearty, satisfying, and made with evident care. The roast is paired with crispy roast potatoes, rich gravy, and fresh vegetables, completing the experience beautifully. Had a lovely lunch at The Yew Tree on Saturday, the pub was nestled in a fold of the Hampshire Countryside. The ambience was relaxed, attentive service and great food. The prawns had a lovely garlic butter sauce, I had the flaked shepards pie and my wife had the Fig and Goats cheese salad. All three courses were great and I had a pint of Hawkstone. We will be back! I must say this pub is well out of the way but worth finding! The Sunday roast beef was the best Sunday lunch I think I’ve ever had in a pub… the staff were excellent and so were the real ales. I’ll be back 100%. If you try it your love it.

My partner and I were staying nearby and had dinner her one evening. We were blown away. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was wonderful and the pub was quaint and pretty. We are so glad to have visited and will be back next time we are in the area.

Came in for hot chocolate with friends, stayed for the menu - great choice for brunch, the hot chocolates (brownie option) came with marshmallows and a very unhealthy amount of whipped cream, and the after eight ice cream was delish!! Gutted I'm not a local, it is a great, friendly place, with proper pizza oven, a little heated & covered terrace and a space showcasing and selling various local produce (including beautiful pottery and mouth watering chutney and honey jars). Not a place you can come out of disappointed!

We enjoyed a Truly Scrumptious Perfect Breakfast yesterday! Quick, effiicient, EXCEPTIONALLY YUMMY, and we were on a TIME CONSTRAINT. And there are unique Gift selections in this Restaurant, to add to the Convivial atmosphere, and delicious Nosh@

My favourite place to get the most delicious chai and a fully loaded roll! The staff are great and always go above and beyond to cater for my son who is gluten free. My boys love the milkshakes and hot chocolates too!

Cafe Nosh Bar is the best cafe spot ever! They never fail to impress. It’s such a lovely place, and I highly recommend it! I paid £38 for two people with 10%tip included.

Lovely pub in a beautiful village. Seems to visited by local villagers and bikers/cyclists, making a friendly atmosphere. Food is very nice, looked like it was home cooked, and portions were huge!

Spent about 4 hours on a Saturday afternoon here. Nice bar staff. Proper local village pub. Punters were very nice and chatty too. We were camping 15 mins walk away so really handy to come across this place.

This is my go to place in Alton! The staff are fantastic, the bar is spotless and the food is delicious! You can tell these guys have lots of experience in running bars and pubs as they just make it work so well, no mater what night you come in, bingo, quiz, karaoke it’s all fun and games. Made a return visit to where I lived many years ago. Heard about The Market Hotel from friends, to use as a base, and wasn't disappointed! Newly reopened after an extensive, yet tasteful renovation, was delighted with the area, ( perfect for exploring a beautiful part of the countryside). The decor and ambiance, together with "mine host's" charm and friendly manner, obviously very experienced in making their clients needs a priority make this a must visit. Also worth mentioning, as one of the owners, is an excellent Chef, you will certainly not go hungry, choosing from their menu, of many home cooked dishes.

My partner and I stayed here for my friend wedding. We had a wonderful stay, new landlord has great customer service and did everything possible to help us. Only 2 down points, the fire exit sign was really bright in the room and kept waking us up and there was a low hum we could hear. But apart from the above we enjoyed our stay.

Attending the Veterans breakfast was excellent thank you for being excellent hosts and very welcoming.

If you are thinking about eating here consider this your sign to book and go immediately! Tonight my husband, daughter and I visited for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! We shared a pork belly and a halloumi starter. Now when I tell you the pork belly was one of the most amazing things I've eaten that's the understatement of the century it was insanely good! The halloumi was good too but the pork belly was just sheer perfection! Having finished our starters we were excited for our main course. My husband had the full rack of ribs and sweet potato fries, I had the half rack of ribs and truffle and parmigiana chips and my daughter had the popcorn chicken and chips (apologies for the half eaten meals pics for the mains but it looked so good we tucked in straight away!). The meat melted off the ribs and tasted soooooo good. My daughter and I finally finished off sharing a sticky toffee pudding and ice cream which was also divine. We've decided that this will now be our go to for any birthday or big celebration! It's more expensive than your every day pub dinner but the food is of a completely different standard way above that of a pub and honestly was worth every single penny! Note to the chef thank you so much for the fantastic food! To the wonderful waitress who kindly poured my daughters lemonade in a gin glass with ice, Strawberries and lemon so it looked like my gin you are a gem. You were so kind and welcoming and are a credit to the restaurant. Heavens kitchen it was an absolute pleasure 🙏🏼 thank you so much and I look forward to our next visit already! Notes for anyone visiting - they have tables outside the back (which have umbrellas to provide shade) as well as inside. There isn't much off road parking opposite but there are plenty of car parks within a short walking distance of the restaurant. The staff were super accommodating for my 8 year old daughter and the kids Menu consists of 4 main options and puddings so plenty of choice although the starters or sides would also work if you wanted to create something different!

It was our first chef's table experience at Khao Soi by Chariya and boy would we do it again! Every dish was so creatively thought of and the taste is just mind blowing. Simple dishes made extraordinary!

This is a lovely, owner operated restaurant run by Masterchef winner Chariya, is a little gem. The service is excellent, with friendly staff who offered a warm welcome, were attentive and very helpful with food information. The menu is quite small, which is good because the kitchen produces the dishes really quickly and does a great job of cooking tasty food. Chariya herself works in the kitchen. I look forward to visiting again and trying some other dishes.

A much awaited visit to this gorgeous new restaurant in my home town didn't disappoint. The Thai inspired dishes were bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. The staff were polite, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant is fairly small and had a great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend to friends and can't wait to visit again very soon.

Our family visited Khao Soi for a birthday treat on a Saturday lunchtime. It was amazing, the front of house lady was just lovely. Welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. There were five of us and all of us cleared our plates. The small plates we had, chicken satay, giant prawn ‘toast’ and dumplings were just superb. Winner across the board was the sweet chilli sauce! We wanted more and they kindly obliged. Couldn’t fault any of the whole experience. It took us an hour and half to get there, but we’ll be back!

The tapas we had were tasty and reminded me of Spanish food. However, keep in mind that this isn't a Spanish restaurant but rather a restaurant with a Spanish-inspired menu. That said, the names of the dishes did create the expectation that we were going to have a 100% Spanish experience. Dog friendly, no issues eating with our cocker spaniel, and they even gave him a bowl with water that is a nice touch! The croquetas were quite good—I should have ordered one portion per person, honestly. All the dishes we tried were tasty. If you order gambas al ajillo, I recommend getting a portion of bread. The bread with the oil from the gambas is the best. They also have limited-availability products listed on a blackboard (in our case, it was some meat cuts, secreto, oysters), so there are other options if you’re looking for "bigger" portions or extra things that arent in the menu. If you need to estimate the cost, you’ll likely need around 2-3 tapas per person, as they are small dishes meant for sharing. Then, add drinks, dessert, etc. Parking isn’t hard—there are plenty of places with 2 hours free, as well as long-stay parking where you get 2 hours free and then start paying (£1 for 3 hours total). You can use RingGo for payment. As a plus, service charge is included in the prices, so what you see is what you pay.

Fantastic lunch with my son on Saturday! First visit and it won’t be the last. We drove for an hour to get there and we weren’t disappointed. Our waiter was amazing, friendly, and attentive. We had a lot of dishes and every one was so tasty we couldn’t decide which one we liked best! Can’t wait to go again! Highly recommend this great place. Well done and thank you to all the wonderful staff.

We have visited the pub several times recently and each time have enjoyed a delicious meal and received great service. Each time the staff were attentive and checked we had everything we needed. The food service was great - taking the time I would expect for a freshly prepared meal. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and the open fire lovely and warm. As a vegetarian I was pleased to be able to choose something different to the usual options offered in other pubs and restaurants. The puddings were delicious … hard to choose as they all sounded so good! The food was fantastic and we can’t wait to return again next. Whether you visit as a family or couple you will not be disappointed.

Had a excellent fish pie last night. Generous, delicious and a nice touch using new potatoes instead of mashed. Good beer & service, and a lovely building.

A true olde world country pub that I and my husband love. We eat here quite regularly and often pop in for just a drink. We can’t fault it. Excellent food at reasonable prices, and friendly service. If you want to swap out any sides included in a main dish for an alternative, it’s never a problem. Always best to book in advance if you want to eat, as it can get very busy.

You couldn't do better for a superb and authentic English country pub. Exceptional atmosphere, friendly welcome, and beautifully-presented, delicious food. Well worth the short diversion off the beaten track.

A beautiful gathering of work colleagues. A very bubbly young lady greeted us, almost like she was welcoming us into her home and she’d invited us round for lunch. Her smile, personality and humour were infectious. Dark hair, quite small, you are excellent at hosting. The menu isn’t cheap but you do get what you pay for, a table of ten of us were given well presented, hot, fresh food all at the same time. The fig and mozzarella focaccia with fries was lovely. Lively outside seating areas and dogs are welcome.

A leisurely evening spent in a fab, warm, cosy & friendly pub, in good company eating scrummy food- what could be better. Came here on recommendation and we weren't disappointed. Service was polite, timely and attentive. Food was all delicious which included the full rack of ribs, ribeye steak (cooked perfectly) and the huge burger. Stand out pudding was the brioche bread & butter served with rich, vanilla ice cream. Only niggle is the automatic addition of a (discretionary) 12.5% service charge.

We happened to come in for dinner on a quiet Monday evening and we were so pleased that we did! Charlotte was warm and welcoming, she really couldn’t have done any more for us. The food was excellent, the small plates had enough ‘fine dining’ feel without being a tiny portion - this was by far the best meal of our trip! Very welcoming to our young dog & we would absolutely come back again.
