We arrived without a table booking on a very busy Sunday, with 3 dogs in tow. They managed to offer us a lovely outdoor, heated seating area, so we could have lunch. Portion sizes were enormous (the dogs got the leftovers), food was delicious and served nice and hot. There was atleast 3 choices of meat on offer for the Sunday roast, along with a great choice of other mains. Typical gastro pub pricing, around £15-24 per main for adults. Whilst we were there 4 horse riders turned up for hot chocolate and chips, and the landlord bought carrots out for the horses. So definitely dog & horse friendly.

We came here last night and we absolutely loved it! We had the shared Camembert to start off with which was delicious! I then had the sausages and mash which was amazing as well. Such a lovely cosy pub to go too! Would definitely love to come back and recommend ☺️

Out of the way place, but so so pretty esp the beer garden. Went for the chalk water trout was not disappointed & will be coming back again soon!. Unfortunately, it was a Monday & service was quite slow, hence the 4 stars. I'm going to go for a weekend brunch next time in the near future to see if service is different. Cocktails were great, too!. Would recommend & will go again. TO ADD been a few times since my initial review. They're recruiting if anyone's looking for a job. There were more staff, hence my rating going from 4-5. The food is delicious & I'm trying to work myself through it all. I had the venison pie of the day from the special's menu. Came back to the Deers Hut to celebrate my husband's birthday we have been several times in the last few months. The meal was lovely as always. But we did feel we were almost forgotten once we had our main , and by the time anyone came back to ask us what we wanted for pudding we changed our mind and just had a coffee . Which we ended up ordering at the bar . I do appreciate being a Sunday they were busy . But we were definitely forgotten.

The Folly Upstairs is an absolute favourite restaurant of mine! Have been travelling down to it over many years now to meet for a meal with friends residing in the area. It has a great atmosphere and decor, an excellent menu for all tastes, including superb Fajitas, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Had a lovely carvery here today. Food was lovely, cauliflower & broccoli with cheese was amazing- best I’ve ever had. Service was great too.

Had a great carvery as usual. Lovely succulent roast pork with tasty veg. Great intimate atmosphere and nice staff. We'll be back.

We had a lovely meal here for my dad's birthday. Our only complaint was that it was absolutely boiling in there, and the air conditioning wasn't on. Lovely food and service was good. Would return.

Food was as usual fabulous. Had the vegan bruschetta to start then tomato and spinach pasta. Very good food and wine. Only niggle was the restaurant was cold. Hopefully next time we will be seated in a warmer part of the restaurant.

La piazetta If you fancy some top notch Italian food in the Petersfield or surrounding area then La Piazetta is the place to come. Old style restaurant with low wooden ceiling beams it definitely has character. The menu is wide and varied catering for all tastes be it pasta, risotto, pizza, meat dishes etc. Everything that we ordered was delicious and the bill was reasonable too. Well worth a visit

This was our second visit, both times have been a pleasure. It is small a cosy and feels like a family run restaurant. The delicious smells hit you as you walk through the door! The service is friendly and efficient, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the mushroom starter! We will definitely go back again in the future.

Had a fantastic spa weekend at The Old Thorns Spa & Resort! The venue was absolutely lovely, with excellent spa facilities that made for a truly relaxing experience. The gym was impressively large—bigger than any other spa hotel I’ve visited before, which was a great bonus. The overall atmosphere was welcoming, and everything was well-maintained. I’ll definitely be coming back again! Highly recommend.

Had a lovely time at Old Thorns for a couples Spa weekend. The Spa itself is very clean and well run, and the facilities are also great from pools to the saunas and steam rooms. The hotel staff are great and the rooms are not bad, despite a bit of damp we noticed. Overall our experience was good, not rating a 5 as we found the Hotel food in the Kings Restaurant to be very bland, underwhelming and very few menu options, specifically dinner. Breakfast was pretty good. In saying that, do try out the sports bar and Oties, a lot more food options but not the cheapest.

Booked for our ten year wedding anniversary and so glad we did! Team were really friendly and accommodating and left us a nice surprise and card in our room on arrival. Food is about normal prices but the portions are big so you definitely get value for money. The area and views were lovely and we chose this hotel specifically for the spa facilities and the location being about an hour or less from all major attractions. Would definitely recommend for couples, had a wonderful anniversary thank you !

A beautiful hotel and lovely rooms. I got married here in April and stayed in one of the two bed apartments for two nights. The apartments have everything you need if you want to cook and the whole space was to a very good standard with beautiful views of the golf course. The dining facilities and the pool area are lovely (leisure facilities were busy on the weekend). Breakfast has a wide selection of food and staff are very welcoming and attentive. Great for a relaxing break and will certainly be back.

Annie Jones just hosted 14 of my family for a lovely Sunday lunch. We had a few requests and the team were more than happy to help. The food and service were fantastic and I would thoroughly recommend.

Wow, what a great place to visit for a romantic evening or out with family or friends. Beautiful surroundings and great service from the staff with a good menu that executed to perfection. Local produce and presented perfectly. Great cocktails too. We thoroughly enjoyed it all. The food was so tasty. We totally loved it here and they have a cocktail bar which we intend to go back to with friends very soon. The moules were so tasty and the beef and venison was incredible. Some of the best food I have eaten in a restaurant in a VERY LONG TIME. Not even joking, the food was insanely good. The pork was to die for and their carrot salad was just perfect. The beef and chiichuri was delicious and to be honest literally every single dish was the best it could be. The staff made us feel so welcome and were incrediblely friendly and the place just really had a fantastic atmosphere. I actually can't wait to come back to Petersfield and eat here again. Didn't get to try dessert as we were so full!!

We went to ruby & Monty's kitchen for an evening meal and we weren't disappointed. I ordered the garlic prawn tagliatelle and it was full of flavour and very enjoyable. The restaurant itself is very modern and quirky which is very tastefully done. The service was fantastic. They serve a good selection of beverages both alcoholic and soft and there's plenty of parking nearby. There is a good selection on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as lighter meals.

Dropped in for brunch while visiting the area after it was recommended to us by a local taxi driver. No complaints at all; service was prompt and good arrived quickly. Food looked lovely and tasted great. Didn’t try the cocktails but what was on the menu looked fab.

We went for breakfast yesterday, really great atmosphere clean well presented staff are friendly one of the only dog friendly places to eat in town. Quality of food was great, portion size was excellent, drinks served well and reasonably priced. Definitely agree with a service charge, really worth it will visit again!

My friends and I came here for a Sunday roast after a walk nearby and loved it. They had very good portions and the prices were reasonable too. Would’ve loved the potatoes to be crispier and the side vegetables to be roasted instead of boiled, otherwise, everything was fine. And they also allowed our dog, which was definitely a plus 😊

6 members of our extended family met at The Half Moon bar and restaurant today. We were served by a very polite and pleasant gentleman. Our meal was delicious and dessert yummy. The Half Moon is located by Petersfield in Hampshire and is an easy venue to reach for our group who lived within a 25-mile radius. Certainly would recommend.

What a fantastic hidden jem, just off the A3 near Petersfield, The Great Oak is a very pleasant place to eat, I visited on a Sunday, so the place was moderately quiet (about half filled), the staff were welcoming and friendly. My server Michelle was extremely nice and efficient. I ordered the rib eye steak, and it arrived at my table in good time. The steak was presented very well, and the taste was unbelievable it was seasoned to perfection. Well done to you all. Good job 👏

Couldn’t fault it! Staff were amazing, friendly and accommodating, especially friendly and fun with my daughter. The young lad that served us was very informative and gave brilliant service. Food was great at an amazing price. 2 courses after 5pm Monday to Friday for £14.95 (something like that). Location just off the motorway and easy to get too. Thank you!

Food very good, had fish and chips. Our waitress was first class, friendly fast. The host at desk needs education in friendliness. Virtually empty restaurant, yet big song and dance about booking and availability. No eye contact, sullen, then sat us away in a corner in a pokey table with hard chairs. Management needs to have a word. Maybe recommend he irons his shirt

A great Beefeater decided to visit the Great Oak as our usual ( Rusty Cutter) has closed. Great menu and was able to use all our coupons. We were served by Harley. Thanks to all the friendly staff. Price is good 👍🏻 if you have a coupon. Dessert 🍨🎂 was lush 🤤. Would recommend. Clean and tidy 😉.

Visited this pub on the way back to London and loved it! It’s very big inside with a varied menu. We had the schnitzel special and it was lovely. The car park is big and the outside area has plenty of space too. The staff here are wonderful - super friendly, efficient and helpful. I would definitely recommend it.

Just had a lovely lunch here for my partners birthday. Our waitress was Beth who was super friendly and attentive. Had 3 courses and 2 drinks for £95 which I think was pretty good. Nice not to be rushed between courses and the food was delicious. My partner had the mushroom soup, steak and ale pie and sticky toffee pudding. I had smoked Mackrel pate, chicken supreme and chocolate brownie. Definitely be coming back.
