The Best Restaurants in Awbridge, Hampshire, United Kingdom (2025)

Found this place on Google Maps after travelling home from Southampton last week. I had the Full English Breakfast, and it was great. The only issue was that it was a very hot day, so it was very warm in there, and I wondered why they didn't have the air-conditioning on 🥵

Have to say, best breakfast I’ve had in a long long time. If I’m down this way again il be sure to stop here again.

Super friendly staff, good quality food and fast service. Nice and clean cafe. Coffee is thumb up, Milkshakes are fantastic. Well recommended. A+++++

I seriously debated this review, now we have found it I'm not sure I want everyone to know about it. Without a doubt now my favourite cafe hideaway in Hampshire. The food was spot on, the coffee was the way I love it and the service was friendly and welcoming. Go here, tell some people :D

Lovely venue with wide range of brunch dishes. The sourdough, smashed avocado & poached eggs was generous. But egg whites & yokes were not cooked as whites slimey near yokes. I didn't complain but would if happens again. Deserve a 2nd visit as very busy so could of been a one of. My friend had eggs benedict & were OK.

An incredible place - the best cheese scones since cheese scones were invented, and a host of other tasty things to have with a good coffee! Customer service goes beyond great… if you sit outside in the cold there are infra red heaters, hot water bottles and blankets to keep you toasty. Inside is great too. Even the toilet has piped tropical birdsong and a nice aroma. How’s that for attention to detail? I enjoyed a long and enthusiastic conversation with the chef/owner about his exciting plans to trial Sunday roasts. A richly deserving recipient of my “Go there at once” award :-)

What a hidden gem! I don’t often leave reviews, but this place truly deserves recognition. We visited Romsey for the first time yesterday and, by chance, stumbled upon the Cork & Bean. We stopped for a drink, and the attention to detail and wine knowledge was outstanding. It impressed us so much that we decided to return for dinner—and I’m so glad we did! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We opted for the cheese and charcuterie sharing board for two, and it was absolutely delicious—truly a standout experience. It’s a real shame we live an hour away because this place has quickly become my new favourite venue. Whether you’re after coffee and cake, wine, or pizza, the atmosphere and overall vibe had us buzzing with excitement. We’ll definitely be back, most likely with the kids in tow next time, but the passion and love behind this little haven really stood out. Well done to everyone at Cork & Bean, and thank you for making our child-free night away so memorable!

The owners were so lovely and entertaining and their team are all warm and friendly. I think the hands on approach by the owners maintains a consistent high standard of service. It's their baby and they are rightly proud of it. The food is excellent ( for vegans and vegetarians too.) It's a buzzing atmosphere- not a "quiet coffee" kind of place. I recommend booking because everyone is discovering this place now and it's generally busy. The coffee is also excellent too. They allow well behaved dogs and even have a dedicated menu of dog treats. The outside areas are well sheltered with heating so lovely all year round. Pricing is really sensible for good quality food and drinks.

Went on a Monday and got the vegan full Kimbridge - it was lush! The only “criticism” is that I’d have liked 1 more hash brown because they were perfection and there was waaaaay too much butter lol. But we will definitely be going back. The courgette fritters were fried to perfection. Great atmosphere, lovely location and the staff were very accommodating!

Great brunch place, excellent coffee and all the food is sourced locally which I love! The boot room is especially cosy for coffee and cake on a cold miserable day with its nice fireplace. Only downside (which isn't their fault) is it gets very busy at weekends so do book on advance to avoid disappointment as this has happened a couple times to us.

I was treated to an afternoon tea at Kimbridge Barn by a wonderful friend in March 2024. What an experience. We were seated in the window in the sunshine. Staff could not be more attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. The scones were huge - the size of a large mango - but beautifully soft & delicious and served warm. The sandwiches were scrummy, the ham hock mayo my favourite. The sunshine melted the sour cherry chocolate bar as we weren’t paying attention! It too tasted wonderful. Will definitely come back when the weather warms up. The package included unlimited teas and americano coffee. Would have been nice to include one special coffee like a latte for the price, but small niggle.

Found this place by chance after camping in the New Forest for the weekend. 100% recommend, a great menu and yummy food. I had the chicken and waffles and it came with a generous helping of maple syrup. The only thing I would change is serving the syrup on the side. I also had one of the best chai lattes I’ve ever had. Our dogs were made to feel welcome and were given treats by the staff. Thank you so much for a lovely breakfast!

They say don't judge a book by its cover!!!! Well this is a fabulous little country pub 😊the food is above and beyond all expectations!!! Steak nights!!!! Cooked to perfection!!! Fish night amazing!!! Steak and kidney pie dad cleaned his plate!!! Can't rate this highly enough!!! If ever you are passing!! Don't !!!! Do call in you will not be disappointed staff very friendly all food cooked fresh but advise you to book as very busy!!! Thanks hope to return one day😊 oh and very dog friendly!!!

Fab food..the homemade chicken and ham pie was great with the mash and veg cooked just the way I like. Didn't have to wait long for food either. Food was lovely and hot..we got there as it opened but was filling up fast as we left..very popular place..landlady was friendly and helpful..

We stayed one night at The White Horse and it was a very enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean, and the food was good quality, tasty and well cooked. The building has an interesting history and it is situated right in the middle of the town so extremely convenient for local amenities and places of interest.

As a wedding photographer, I always enjoy working at The White Horse Hotel in Romsey. A Hidden Gem with Six-Star Service This hotel is a true find! The location is absolutely perfect, nestled in the heart of a charming and quaint town. From the moment we arrived, I was blown away by the exceptional service – it honestly felt like I was staying in a six-star London hotel. Forget tired buffets! Here, you order off a menu and are treated to a truly delicious and satisfying start to the day. Honestly, I can't recommend this hotel enough. We had an absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch at this lovely hotel. It was beautifully presented & delicious. The service was excellent. It was faultless. We will definitely be dining there again.

This place is beautifully styled, and the food was lovely. The atmosphere was fresh, bright, and relaxed. Even the restrooms were spotless and well-designed. The dishes were served with great care, and the chef did an excellent job with each one. This place is worth visiting, and I'm happy we chose it.

Walk in on a Sunday and was accommodated very easily. Sunday roast was lovely (it is not often my husband clears his plate - but he did here) staff are very polite and professional. Will definitely be back for goatfest

The service was amazing and very friendly. The food tasted lovely, my only issue was I think the veg portion was quite a bit smaller than other local places for roasts, only one of my potato’s were crispy, and not much gravy is served- although you can ask for more for the table. But, that’s my only negative! The sticky toffee pudding was also delicious.

Our first visit was a delight! Just stumbled on the Rockingham as a half way point to meet friends and we had a great time. Really super lunch with fabulous food and very relaxed which we truly enjoyed. And then a very relaxed amble along the tracks beind the restaurant ... wonderful. Until next time, thank you all.

We were visiting the new forest with our dog and found this stunning pub through social media. Top rated roast and a great atmosphere. Will definitely be back again when we're next down

Absolutely delicious burger and chips. Staff were very friendly and helpful, pointing out the gluten free options on the pudding menu. Food came out quickly and couldn't fault it. Two clean plates. Would thoroughly recommend 🫶🏼

My wife and I came to the Three Tuns for Sunday Lunch today, 23rd February 2025. We both chose the roast chicken. It was absolutely superb/delicious/scrumptious even..11/10. Portion size was perfect as was the contrast between the rainy February day outside and the cheery log fire inside! A big 'well done' to the landlord and all his team! Thank you very much.

A friendly warm welcome in a lovely cosy room, unfortunately the car park is fairly small. We chose the one item that was not available on the menu that day which was a shame. We did however enjoy our burger options but we were after something special as it was a birthday treat. My husband enjoyed the real ales on offer. We will definitely be returning.

Back in the Summer, they did the most amazing risotto, actually the best I’ve ever had, I kept coming back for more. Service is good as well. They were polite, and they made a fuss of my dog. Good pub all-round!

Absolutely best service, food, and value in the area. I can't recommend the Mill Arms enough, whether you are looking for a quick lunch, a special dinner, or a group event. Food is always first for me and I love the varied menu that has plenty of vegetarian options. Service is always with a smile and it's nice to be in a family-run establishment.

Visited for food while staying in the area with family. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were 10 of us in total and they were able to accommodate us all comfortably without us being crammed in. The food was very good, with great portion sizes. There were a few requests for adjustments to the menu and the kitchen got our order completely right. A friendly atmosphere, dog friendly, and I will definitely visit again.

Delightful little pub, don't be fooled, there more space than you think and a garden as well. Good range of beers I had Flack's double drop, great pint.

Relatively new place as a pub, this former Chemist shop and bus waiting room is enjoying a new lease of life. Nice selection of beers, friendly staff and a good place to watch the world go by!

Love this pub! Have visited twice, both on a Saturday. Staff are really friendly and will serve you drinks at your table.

History…. The decor in this place is awesome. True to everything about the place. Gray place to drink beer. Try the local stuff. When the weather is good , sit in the back and enjoy being outside in the garden.
