4th time to travel from Portsmouth to visit the pub & dining with 4 friends, one already visited the place prior including myself but 2 companion’s 1st time seeing the beautiful place. The entrance is so enchanting and friends were impressed by its sophisticated decor and stylish interior. The one served us named Jack is so accommodating, friendly and engaging towards us and our needs making sure we were content not just with the food but just by being there. 100% great service and he was such an asset to that place, staff with great demeanour to customers should be promoted. One of our favourite place to visit!

Just had a meal at The Old Mill, we were serviced by Jake who I've got to say was brilliant, first class service from start to finish. The food was really good & we sat by the fire, the atmosphere was perfect & very relaxing, would definitely recommend. All the staff seemed well trained & very friendly so thankyou The Old Mill. We are staying in room 6 for two nights & the room is very clean & equipped with everything you need. I think we've chosen well.

Not the Sunday lunch experience we were expecting so a few notes for future visitors. Don’t sit too close to the fire as the smoke will get you when people exit the door and leave it open. Check your order is correct and nothing is missing. If you order pork, expect more fat than meat. Even if you have a later booking time, expect a 45min wait to receive your meal. Otherwise the food and service is very good.

We had a fantastic 3 night stay at the Old Mill. The room was comfy and warm and everything spotlessly clean. The breakfast was fantastic and all arrived piping hot. Be warned, the portions are generous so no lunch required! One of our evening meals was haddock, chips, pea & mint, and tartare sauce, it was simply fabulous! We would not hesitate to book again. Indeed this is great little retreat and a real hidden gem.

We met some friends here on Friday evening. Great food, very well cooked and tasty. Fabulous mixed seafood platter for starters which we shared. Good home cooked main meals. We didn’t sample the desserts as we were too full. Excellent service, friendly and helpful.

Fabulous find while staying locally at half term. They fed 8 of us very well with lovely home cooked food. Very tasty and filling just wish we lived locally. Friendly service too and looked after our dog with water and biscuits!

Normally I try to go to "Family Pubs" run by large chains, because they are predictable and good value. I was with my elderly mother and her dog, mid week, and I was a little bit lost and intimidated by the rush hour traffic. I chose The Plough from Google Maps, and I was very happy with my choice. It combines a small traditional pub, with various extensions that provide a lot more accomodation for eating. We both had the pie (£16)(Beef and red wine). I was very happy with my choice again. My mother is very elderly and she does not really eat a lot. Generally speaking, I have been very pleased with the eating places within the New Forest. It is an area that I would like to explore more.

My Husband and I had a lovely experience today at this super pub and would definitely return. They were very busy and a couple of things got forgotten, which we were accepting of and we gently reminded them, they were very apologetic and professional and upon paying our bill they had not charged us for a couple of items, which was a nice touch and much appreciated. This sort of courtesy is unusual these days, many thanks.

Treated myself to a delicious lunch of fish and chips today and a pint of Boon Doggle brewed by Ringwood brewery. Service was excellent too.Definitely will be returning. Excellent service and beer.

Enjoyed lovely food and drinks in this super pub. The staff were welcoming and interested in our experience and made a big fuss of our dog Scout. Special mention to Ella and Courtney for their exceptional service and care. We felt genuinely looked after by them. This is definitely worth visiting and we will be back when next in the new forest!

First visit while travelling to the area ! Such a warm, welcoming and cozy atmosphere. Staff were lovely and bubbly. Food price matched expectations, was excellent value for money. Unfortunately didn’t catch our servers name but she was lovely. Looked quiet when we visited but was early afternoon. Looking forward to visiting again! No delays in service and cocktails to die for!

We stayed at the Angel and Blue Pig for the weekend for 3 nights for our anniversary, and our stay was lovely. We booked a Double Deluxe room, which was really cosy, and the bed was so comfortable I had the best night's sleep. Our room faced onto the High Street, so I thought it might be noisy, but other than the doves roosting on the roof and the refuse collection early one morning, it was really quiet. Not sure how old the building is, but due to its age, the corridors and floors are creaky, and the rooms have imperfections and wonky door frames, but this all adds to the quirky atmosphere. You can feel the history in the building. We booked a table for Sunday lunch, which was very good. My partner ordered the vegetarian option, but this had sold out, so he was offered vegetarian sausages instead, which was fine. It must be a popular option, as this was only 2.15pm. We would most certainly stay here again.

I came here for lunch only, and did not stay at the hotel. It was a great place to rest after a long walk in the nearby nature reserve. The staff in the restaurant were efficient and friendly, and the fish dish was delicious. Great pit stop.

Love this place! Just out of the town but on the Solent way before the marina, the service was first class. Greeted by polite, friendly and accommodating staff. Dog friendly to! The food and drinks were excellent and staff were attentive throughout. We never have pudding at lunch but enjoyed the atmosphere and mains so much we stayed and they are big yummy puddings! Will definitely be coming back on our holidays in the summer

Stayed here for a night with my wife, lovely room. Had steak for dinner which was cooked perfectly. Breakfast was absolutely delicious too. Would highly recommend staying here and also dine. Went for a walk around the marina in the morning on a beautiful crisp sunny day.

We are return visitors to the new forest and love to come to the mayflower for food and drinks with our dog Scout. She is quite anxious but the staff are very helpful with helping us find a good seated position. Recently we ate here for 3 weekday lunches, a Sunday roast and on our final morning had breakfast here too. The food is always great and the Sunday roast is the ultimate meal for me. Beautiful succulent loin of pork, perfect roast potatoes and lovely seasonal veg. The gravy was like silk and tasted amazing! We wish we lived closer as we would I wouldn’t be cooking on Sundays very often! The breakfast was also delicious. Service wonderful and cannot wait to return to eat more!

Mixed feelings. Its a lovely pub with wonderful atmosphere. The food is pricey so our expectations were high. However the quality didn't match the pricing and so went away somewhat disappointed. We'll definitely return, but probably not for food.

This restaurant is situated by the Road so It is very easy to find and It has plenty of car park. The service is really good and the kitchen works really well. The atmosphe and decoration is pretty good and we enjoyed our visit very much. The restaurant It is apart from the bar with nice seatings and the bar is also a large space near the entrance. Very clean restaurant and very recommended.

We stopped here for an evening meal. Staff were very friendly, it had a lovely atmosphere and restaurant which we were sat. We chose sausage with mash potatoes, a children's pasta dish and one of the burgers. All meals were delicious and very filling as portion sizes were very generous. We all had a dessert each which again was really nice. We would recommend the Ferryman to others for food and we will definitely return when we are next down that way.

Our 1st time here. Excellent from start to finish. They went out of their way to fit us in, 6 adults and a dog. All of us said it was the best roast dinner we had had in a long time. The service was excellent, such lovely people. They were absolutely fine about us bringing a birthday cake and them bringing it out with candles & singing! Great live music, and a nice walk from our holiday accommodation. They definitely deserve 5 stars.

What a lovely pub! Tucked away down a quiet lane, with some lovely walks nearby, and Lymington centre also not too far away. Very friendly landlord, who knows how to run a local pub which welcomes visitors. The food is good pub grub; tasty, good portions and well presented. Good beers and wines. Great garden and covered outdoor space. All you want from a pub! Don't ask about the Christmas tree!!

A lovely pub, lovely people and lovely food. We had a warm welcome. The food portion sizes were huge and we really enjoyed it. Big burger and chips and the liver and bacon was great. The Flack double drop is a nice pint but I tried the Flack IPA for the first time, which is a nice traditional British style IPA. Definitely worth a visit. Oh, and when you ask for a coffee, you get brought a cafetiere of coffee, not the Spanish Inquisition (The Chequers Inn should get a ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ review for just for this alone 😜)

Recommend, good home cooked food reasonable priced.We went to chequers on Friday night, warned about the KOK which sounded fun. 8 of us were put in a side room which was perfect for us to have a great night. Sea bass excellent quality and price. Fish pie enormous. Great value and good service.

Visited for a drink whilst on a walk on a Saturday in January. The inside was busy with people eating but they have a good undercover area outside with heating. Good selection of Ringwood beers and cider. Menu looked good with gluten free options. Freindly staff.

5 star food, 5 star location, 2-3 star restaurant service. Fantastic venue, food was excellent and a great choice of wine. Service was friendly but fairly incompetent. I think we had 3 waiters/waitress in total. The first one couldn't explain what the lamb dish was (I think she was very junior, and shouldn't have been left alone). A very friendly second waitress helped us with our choice. The wine waiter made quite a hash of opening a very nice (and expensive) bottle of wine - see photo. We had to ask for water, and again when it needed topping up. At the end we were left waiting for quite some time with no staff in sight anywhere. Anyway the food was excellent - I had a very tasty lobster ravioli followed by a lamb dish with pastry. All very well presented and great tasting. Desserts were lovely too although one was spoiled by having clingfilm in it, though they dropped the charge from that. Would definitely go back, the venue is beautiful, wonderfully decorated and a great view out to sea. Hope the staff are carefully nurtured to become fully competent, it would definitely take the place to 5 stars.

I took my mum here for afternoon tea yesterday. Excellent. We had a lovely table overlooking the Needles. Even had a tablecloth, which you rarely see nowadays. Staff were brilliant. Very attentive. Food delicious. Highly recommend Pebble Beach. My husband and I go there often and are lucky enough to live just an 8 minute drive away. Met Mike, the owner, as we were leaving. Very pleasant, as are all the staff. Looking forward to our next visit. 😀 Shirley Martin

Called in for a late lunch. We enjoyed a large pizza between us and a very tasty desert, plus drinks. It's a little bit pricey compared to other places. The restaurants location with the wonderful views, a quality up market restaurant with a great chef anf kitchen, kind efficient staff, make this a wonderful place to go for a special occasion or just because...

What an amazing little find tucked away on the quayside. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the chef sent out some flavoursome well presented plates. We had squid followed by Thai risotto, sea bass and ‘The Chocolate Bomb’. Atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Thank you for your warm hospitality Definitely be returning, this one’s a keeper

I really nice pub on the Harbour in Lymington. I just had a passing visit on my way to a hotel. The chap serving behind the bar was fantastic! He went the extra mile with an elderly gentleman who had allergies whilst I was there. He even read out what allergens were in each meal to make sure the customer was completely catered for. First class customer service. The pub has a lovely, welcoming feel to it and the restaurant area / food looked amazing. Hope to go back one day for a meal.

We had a lovely experience here, they are very allergy aware which is great for us as we need to avoid gluten as much as possible! The food options are varied, my burger with it's filling was GF however the bap sadly was not, but that was my choice to keep it on. Service was brilliant, with friendly attentive staff. The added bonus was that my wife had informed them in advance of our dietary requirements and also that it was our anniversary, the staff made us up a special desert to celebrate!

We had a fantastic evening for our anniversary. We had squid to start, I had pork belly with scallops, hubby had T-bone steak- every mouthful was delicious. Top notch food. Karen was so friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend the Ship. 5 star, nothing was too much trouble. Cocktails were yummy too. They even wrapped our desserts to take home. We will definitely come back here. An absolutely terrific restaurant with great decor, amazing food and wonderful service. From the off you get the impression that the staff cannot do enough for you. Then the food comes - wow. Fantastic. An all round restaurant I recommend.

Came here for the first time on Saturday for lunch. My new favourite. The food was delicious and the staff amazing. So friendly and nice, all of them. Highly recommend. Reasonably priced. Exceeds The Pig and The Jetty ! Especially for value and attentive staff. The nicest food by far. Must have top quality chefs ! Well done all of you ❤️

Haven Bar and Restaurant at the yacht club is a delightful waterfront gem that offers a perfect blend of great food and stunning views. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it an ideal spot for both casual lunches and special dinners.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch, very busy and busy all afternoon in the summer. Outdoor area not large but lovely views over the marina from inside the restaurant. I had the Hake which was delicious but too small a portion of fish, I could’ve had another. Rather pricey for so small a plate. Steps only to enter the restaurant above the yacht club. Nice choices on the menu.
