I was offered a great lunch time menu which was delicious, thank you Chef, £10 dine in and just perfect for this time of day. Immaculate restaurant and perfect manners from the lovely staff. Happy to recommend all aspects: hospitality and warmth of service, food, ambience, and the whole experience. Thank you so much. I visited this restaurant twice, in close succession as the food was so good. The first time for a large family meal for my mother’s birthday, second time just two people for a few small plates and cocktails. I was very impressed with this place. A beautiful venue with outstanding but very reasonably priced food and drinks. All starters and mains were absolutely delicious though my sons Katsu curry though tasty, was not hot, only luke warm. My beef Rendang was a dish I’d never tried before and it was absolutely delicious. All food was nicely presented and tasted great. The prawn dim sum was also delicate and delicious. Happy hour cocktails are excellent value for money with a good choice, I enjoyed the Tokyo Iced Tea. The only real negative about Tampopo in my experience is the slow service. Both times we waited a long time to be served and had to ask if we could order on both occasions. Staff are friendly and I don’t know if both times they were understaffed but it has influenced my 3 star rating for service. Having said that, it would not stop me from visiting again as it’s a delightful venue with a nice atmosphere and fantastic food.
This place has been open for 18 months (January 2025). It saw some good reviews so thought we try it out. I had the laksa the portion was bit small compared to other places I’ve been but it was very it was very tasty and it had the right amount of spice ie very authentic. The starter, very good the prawn dim sum is good. Also, they have a bottomless lunch 90 mins drinks, I’ve not tried but will for sure.
I came with some friends to Tampopo on Wednesday 2nd October and had some small dishes to share. Korean pop chicken was the highlight. The service was exceptional, food good and served in a timely manner from ordering. We received fresh cutlery and napkins when the mains were cleared. The cocktails were delicious and we had a really fun time. We’ll definitely be coming back again!
