I loved the veggie selection here. The zucchini was delicious and so were the lentil kofte. The cornbread was perfectly moist. The cauliflower was a bit salty for my liking. But I will definitely consider revisiting.

Amber is a standout in Middle Eastern dining—definitely not your typical spot! As someone familiar with countless Middle Eastern restaurants, I was genuinely impressed by the modern twist they bring to traditional dishes. The atmosphere is stylish and contemporary, which reflects in the beautifully balanced menu. The freshness of the ingredients shines through in every bite. We tried the meatballs with yogurt, which were delicious, but the star of the meal was the pita lamb shoulder sandwich. The lamb was incredibly tender, and the pita itself was probably the best I’ve ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Amber and can’t wait to return to explore more of their innovative dishes! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fresh take on Middle Eastern cuisine.

Very pretty and low-lit atmosphere. Middle eastern cuisine, and it was superb. Definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in London. The cauliflower had a great sauce and crispness, my eggplant was really good despite my hesitation, and the flavors were super unique!! Would totally go back, not expensive considering how good it was.

My friend and I were on the hunt for a nice spot to catch up, and since she’s vegetarian, we figured Amber would be a great choice—and it totally was! Even though we showed up 30 minutes early (classic us), the team greeted us warmly and got us seated right away. The vibe of the place? So cozy. Loved the wooden furniture, plants everywhere, and the open kitchen giving off all the right energy. It was a long-overdue catch-up session, so shoutout to the team for being super patient with us as we took our sweet time to order. We kicked things off with a great bottle of wine and ordered a bunch of dishes to share. One thing we loved was how the food arrived as it was ready—none of that overwhelming table-juggling. It gave us space to enjoy each dish properly. Speaking of food, we tried the bread basket, hummus gnocchi, crawling flower, torched sea bream, prawns in garlic oil, grilled courgettes, and smoked potatoes. Every single thing was chef’s kiss delicious. The service? Absolutely top-notch. They really made it the perfect girls’ night out. Highly recommend Amber—it’s a gem!

Kirvem Restaurant & Bar

663 Commercial Rd, London E14 7LW, UK | Turkish Restaurant
P: 020 7001 1001

Rating: 4.5 (990) Price Level:

A super delicious authentic Turkish restaurant! One of the best we've had, certainly in East London. We were here for a pre show at Troxy and this did not disappoint. The food was cooked fresh and the choices were excellent, would highly recommend going if this is your type of cuisine. The staff were super too. It's a very short walk from Limehouse station, which is on the DLR line, it's super easy to get to as well. We shared the mixed grill as a main, had a few starters which included the halloumi. A solid A***** LDT x

We came here for our anniversary dinner and had a wonderful experience. The food was a little pricier than we would usually pay but was absolutely delicious and huge portions as well. They brought us free bread, cheese and olives as well and the cheese was amazing and made in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive and the service was speedy. The restaurant is clean and has great vibes, just the right balance of background noise and quiet. Would love to come back again!

If you find yourself near Canary Wharf and have a craving for authentic Turkish cuisine, I highly recommend visiting this local gem. The restaurant offers a rustic and inviting ambiance, perfect for enjoying a meal that's both delicious and great value for money. The standout dish has to be the savory lamb ribs, cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The appetizers are equally delightful, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. While the ribeye steak is decent by London standards, the lamb dishes truly shine here. Service is attentive and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant visit each time.

Excellent Mediterranean restaurant with great ribeye steak options. Portion sizes are huge for the price, and speedy fast attentive service. Good place to have drinks and dinner with friends and family, with a great mellow ambiance. Parking is available on the side roads with Restuarant being located on the Main Street.

With a desire for Turkish, my family and I headed to Commercial Road to try a new restaurant, and the experience was a warming one. The restaurant was quiet, mostly due to the fact it was late evening on a Wednesday, but it was pleasant for us. The service was wonderful from the staff still there and the food was most certainly delicious. We ordered a platter to share between the four of us, and I must say the Lamb Ribs have got to be the most mouth-watering ribs I have ever tasted, the stand out of the platter. The Lamb Chops were a close second followed by the humus and bread. I will say though, that you might find the food too salty depending on your preference. For me I loved it but the rest of my family wasn't too keen on it. Prices are also a bit on the high end (£5 for a soft drink is not it), but otherwise for the most part I'd say this restaurant was worth the outing for.

Had a really nice dinner here. Good service, nice atmosphere. The meat platter was honestly on the overcooked side, pretty chewy throughout, you'd be better off with a steak or something. Great chips and sweet potato. The desserts however were amazing. The bread and butter pudding with custard was one of the best I've eaten in years. A star just for that. Cheesecake also very good.

Wow!! Best dining experience I’ve ever had. The food was utterly incredible best roast I’ve ever eaten! The service was fantastic everyone smiling and happy nothing was too much best service I’ve ever received. We went as a birthday celebration to be given a great table and a little treat with a candle and a sing song. This place is the absolute nuts you have to eat here. I can see why this place is always booked out it’s a must have x

Ben and the team were amazing. For a company event, they are easy to work with in the planning stages. They were flexible and offered a range of options. On the night itself, they could not have been more helpful and flexible. A definite will return location for a work event (and maybe a cheeky drink one evening).

Wonderful ambience, comfy chairs, clean toilets, convenient location, I'd definitely come back! It was my first time visiting. I'd wanted to try this pub for ages. There were a few people around on a sunny Friday afternoon. There's an upstairs seating area too. Love the big windows and natural light. They had the cricket on TV and pop music playing. Friendly staff and loads of character in the decor. Much busier on a Saturday afternoon and the football adds much more noise. We played scrabble and ate. The mango sorbet was great. Went back for a late afternoon lunch and snack. It can get quite busy and noisy. Service was great and it is great to come here.

I was just killing time in Canning Town and decided to order lunch in this vibey little bar. My expectations of the food in a place not catering to a lunchtime crowd were low. Celebrated our engagement party in this amazing venue, and honestly had the bestest night!!! Anna, the manager, was so easy to communicate with and made it so easy for us to organise anything we wanted to do. Our host Saffyia was incredible and sooooo accommodating too and just a lovely person overall, and so caring. Maria(sorry if I spelt your name wrong) was also just so nice and made sure to check on us if we needed anything. There were a few other amazing bartenders that I unfortunately don’t know the name of but you guys were amazing! Oh and food and drinks were great! Loved the Mexican menu, the nachos were top notch. There’s so many options on drinks and the bartenders would easily recommend you something to your taste. The venue itself had a rustic vibe and a lovely atmosphere with some lights, AND A FREAKING DISCO BALL 🪩🕺! Thank you for such a blast!

I come from Central America and I tried the Mexican menu at Taco Hut. I was pleasantly satisfied with everything I tried! The beef was extraordinary, the tacos chosen were fantastic, all fresh and flavorful. We also had the nachos, and everything was delicious! The pico de gallo was fresh and tasty and reminded me of the flavors of my country. The cocktails were fantastic, especially the mango daiquiri. I couldn't be happier with my choice!

The Gun, Docklands

27 Docklands, Coldharbour, London E14 9NS, UK | Pub
P: 020 7519 0075

Rating: 4.5 (2420) Price Level:

It was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We visited lunchtime yesterday just for a quick drink. However, when we got there, we were tempted by the lunchtime offer of 2 or 3 courses for £20 or £25. I had the pea ravioli to start and fish and chips for mains. Everything was perfect, very tasty and fresh, and a good-sized portion despite being an offer. Service was faultless, just right not overdone or in your face. Everything at the right time. Lovely cosy pub and surroundings next to the river overlooking the 02 arena. Great outside area for the sunny days, too, with bar and music with the perfect Thames view. This is gem of a place and we'll worth a visit.

Fantastic spot! The food was delicious—lamb, ravioli, and my all-time favorite beef tartare blew my mind. Absolutely top-notch. Now, I hate to nitpick, but that sticky toffee pudding came with what must’ve been the tiniest scoop of ice cream known to humankind. But don’t worry, a glass of port came to the rescue. Oh, and the crispy lager was on point, too!

We visited The Gun on a Sunday for drinks while working along the riverside. From the outside, we didn’t expect it to be so fancy inside—it was a pleasant surprise! The waiters were well-dressed and very polite. The roast food looked amazing, with massive Yorkshire puddings, although the prices seemed a bit on the higher side from what we saw on the menu. We're hoping to come back and try the food soon—will update the review when we do. We sat outside on the new terrace, which was great. There’s plenty of space, and it felt warm and cosy even in winter. However, the drinks selection outside was a bit disappointing, so it’s probably better to head inside for more options. As a Fuller’s pub, they had the expected drinks selection. We had an Asahi, Neck Oil, and a very nice ale—three drinks came to just under £20. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this pub for a relaxing Sunday drink. It’s very comfortable, the view from the terrace is lovely, and the atmosphere makes it worth a visit.

The food and the atmosphere was very good. Waiter catered to our every need. The combos is a lot of food, so good for sharing. The only thing I didn’t like. Our waiter Floyd was exceptionally patient! He was very helpful charismatic and considerate. I had my beast burger lettuce rapped due to allergies and I enjoyed it, I especially enjoyed the lobster croquettes (I recommend to everyone that likes cheesy things). The music in the atmosphere was nice and well suited for this Christmas season but sometimes talking from others would be quite loud.

If we look at this place purely on the quality of food, selection of drinks, it is nothing special then. However, add the atmosphere, the location and how cozy it is, when not over crowded, you will get my favourite pub experience in London. For me the grapes oddly feels like a second home away from home, especially upstairs, it is a perfect place for a conversation with the view of the Thames in the background. If you want a real pub experience, this is a very good place to go to!

We just dropped in for a few drinks and to enjoy the view of the Thames River from the small balcony out the back. The beer was great, service was quick and the views were fantastic. It's an old, small pub with character and it was quite busy but we still managed to get a seat on the balcony, which could probably seat around 12 people. The view of the sun setting over the city was a great way to enjoy a drink on a pleasant evening. Worth a visit.

We grabbed breakfast at The Ivy in Canary Wharf, and it was such a cool spot. The place is full of greenery, almost like stepping into a tropical rainforest, but still with that classic British vibe. The decor is super vibrant and artsy—it really adds to the whole experience. I had the Eggs Benedict with hand-pulled ham, and it was spot on—the poached egg was perfectly soft, and the smoked ham had so much flavor. The hollandaise sauce pulled it all together. Their Ivy Breakfast, which is kind of their signature dish, was also super fresh and tasty. The service was really attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, The Ivy was such a great find, and I’ll definitely be going back!

Really enjoyable visit to The Ivy. We only booked the day before but managed to secure a table for 4 people at 6pm (times were limited). It was really packed, but not too noisy ... tables far enough apart so that people don't end up shouting ... Lovely decor, really sumptuous. And the food was excellent. Definitely high-end for the cost. Wine and cocktails reasonable, given the nature of the restaurant. A real treat.

perfect, this atmosphere was quite load but a lovely calm place at the same time, the set up and tables along with being able to see the water from where we were seated was a lovely extra for our meal, the lights and music made the place feel classy and fancy which is a nice add to the meal. the food was delivered only 10 minutes after ordering which was amazing as me and my partner were starving, we ordered the chicken tikka along with rice and plain nann bread, the chicken tikka had a spicy kick but was overall one of the best i have ever had along with the fluffy nann bread, as we tried to order chips but they didn’t sell them the lovely waiter suggested a substitute which was amazing and i’m glad they didn’t do chips. the service overall really made the place more homely, the waiter we had spoke to us a lot and was very lively, he suggested new foods to us and was very intrested in our travels, which was a lovely conversation to have, although i have so much good to say about this place i must say it is very expensive around 70-80 which isn’t to bad to pay when the food is worth it, if your willing to pay this then decently visit this place in the london area
