Another amazing meal at one of my favourite places. There is such a void in good restaurants in the area this really is a shining star. I was dining alone this evening for a change and the staff made me feel welcome and looked after. First time trying the Mixed Shish which is genuinely out of this world and the Turkish wine is fantastic. Visit if you are in the area, it’s never not busy and I live down the road!

A fantastic local restaurant serving very good food. Highly recommend especially for parties, celebrations or events!

Vera's Sizzling Delights: A Night to Remember on valentines Day( my second visit) Vera isn't just a meal. It's an experience! My evening there was filled with culinary delights and exceptional service. The scallops were the undisputed champions, and each bit was a perfect dance of flavour and texture. And the mixed grill? Pure fire-kissed perfection, a medley of meats cooked to juicy, tender satisfaction. The friendly and attentive staff added the final touch to a truly memorable night. Vera has earned a permanent spot on my favourites list, and I can't wait to return for another round of deliciousness!

Great place to have some Mediterranean Food! From the Starters / Mains and Dessert everything was amazing! Be warned- Do Not go alone to this place as the portions are big enough to share.🥰 The staff we were warm and welcoming and helpful, service was amazing. We were one of the first ones there and last ones to leave and not once did we feel rushed as they were waiting for us to finish our drinks. Highly recommend to go here 🥂

The Truro Croydon | Indo-African Restaurant
3-7 S End, Croydon CR0 1BE, UK | Restaurant P: 020 8412 7186
Rating: 4.8 (666) Price Level:
An excellent experience overall! Food was mostly excellent. Improvements would be for the seafood platter, the calamari and cod need more flavour even if they are coated in seasoned light batter. Give the customer the choice if the sauces are placed all over the food or if they come separate for the customer to pour on according to how much they want. Ours was too full of the sauce that I gad to scrape some off. This was also the case for the chicken. The chicken flavour was excellent, but the lamb chops were extraordinary....the best I have ever tasted! The drinks were excellent. The waiters were great, just sometimes need to be focused and not forget what they were asked. I will be back! Thank you.

Went to the Truro for my work Christmas Lunch/ Dinner and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and tasted so fresh, the prawns were amazing and the Malva pudding was very tasty. The service was outstanding, we didn’t have to wait for long to place our order and all the staff were very attentive at all times. Thank you for such a pleasant experience, I will definitely be returning!

We walked in and were warmly welcomed to our table, which we pre-booked. We ordered a Seafood Platter, 1/4 Chicken with 6 prawns and some Greek Salad, all of which were spectacular. Drinks were good too (me speaking mainly from the Kinder Bueno milkshake). For desert, we had Malva Pudding which was also delicious. The staff were always at our service and they had a light that would let the waiters know we need them. The atmosphere was great too as we could really feel the culture and history. Overall, an amazing experience that I would definitely recommend.

The ambience was perfect and food was excellent. loved the idea of pressing the light on your table, when you are ready to order, and a server will come straight away. we didn’t have to wait long for the food to come and everything was delicious. The strawberry mojito was the best one I had ever tasted in any restaurant - and I loved the ‘bamboo’ straw!! The finishing touch was the Malva pudding - literally like hot sticky toffee pudding with cold vanilla ice cream; perfect combo! It was the first time we came, but won’t be the last. They are also opening up a new branch in tooting soon! The only stain on an otherwise perfect dinner, was the 12.5% service charge on the bill 😳 which I wasn’t expecting. Overall we enjoyed our experience as the look of the restaurant is top class and so is the food.
Rating: 4 / 5
Delicious food! Spicy, flavourful and delightful. I loved this food. We thought the service was slow but we realised we had to change the light to orange to be served so… after that service was actually fast. We went with a group of 8 and it was a lovely experience. I will be back! I do wish there was alcohol but I guess it’s a halal restaurant so.

Great music, good vibes beautiful decor and ambiance. I would definitely recommend the hummus lamb kavurma. The amaretto sour was absolutely lovely!! Come and visit with your friends and family.
Rating: 4 / 5
The food portions are quite small for the price, which is a bit disappointing. However, the flavors are excellent, the service is top-notch, and the desserts are outstanding. Overall, I really enjoyed it.

Lovely to be there with family and friends. Luckily found available table for 10 walk ins and everyone enjoyed every second spend there. We will return for sure. I haven't tried this time the shisha, but is a must for my next visit. We will come back for sure and most probably in a bigger group. The staff was amazing and very attentive, making us to feel welcomed.

This place is 10/10 Service: I don't know what it is recently but a lot of restaurants have a lack of customer service, but here is amazing. As soon as you walk in the staff are friendly and tentative. You are not waiting to be served there is always someone around if you need anything. Food: We had the Hummus Lamb Kavurma it is an absolute must. In my opinion the best I have had, second best is La Moda in New Malden. Then we had mix grill combo for two with bulgar and white rice. Another must have. There were so many star players in this dish, but the but the top 3 the grilled vegetables 🤤, the chicken wings and lamb pieces, and white rice ( okay that is 4). Also the garlic sauce is also *chef's kiss* Dessert: Sticky Toffee Pudding ❤️ that is all I have to say Shisha: The shisha was good Frozen Lychee and Blueberry was 7/10. The African Queen was 2/10 The service for the lounge 10/10 Parking is limited but there are spaces which are a 5 minutes walk away Overall: Highly recommend.

Once again a 10/10 experience at Helvadere, the cocktails are always amazing, nice and strong! The food always delicious! Twilight prawns are the best (Please don't ever remove these from the menu!) The grilled meats were perfectly made, fresh and tasty! Also the best service from the staff as usual, especially Kareem! Made sure everything was as we liked and was very attentive. Thank you Kareem x We'll be back soon to enjoy again soon! 🧡

Rating: 4.5 (673) Price Level:
We came here for my mothers 60th birthday and the service and food was both amazing. We had Cristina as our waitress and she was fantastic I can’t praise her enough. They even brought out a little cheesecake with happy birthday written on it which was really lovely of them. I will definitely be coming back here again. The mock tails was amazing I had the one with raspberry and pomegranate it was amazing. My siblings had lychee one which was nice but I don’t like lychee much. The food portion was good. I ordered the monk fish which was great. My sister ordered the crispy prawn with kimchi rice and omg that was amazing. I would definitely get that next time I go. There was 7 of us and the bill came for £290 including three mock tails and water. Thanks again Yumn for making the experience memorable and thank you Cristina for your lovely service.
Rating: 4 / 5
The food was fine, the best part were the starters and the dessert I ordered beef, it was a little bit chewy, my spouse ordered a meat buffet it was fine as well. We don't have any negative comments therefore we would go back again but try something different from their menu as well. The environment was quiet, not sure if its because it was during the week.

Really good evening. Difficult to point anything wrong. 😄 The food was delicious and arrived quickly. The staff was a big highlight of the evening (thank you Cristina!). They were cheerful and informative - rare to find this caliber of people. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone.

Went for dinner on a Friday and the welcome was really warm and friendly. Although there was a big group, it wasn't too loud and the music was pleasant in the background. We ordered the 2-4-1 Guava breeze, Ackee saltfish rolls, pepper roti and a jerk platter to share. There was a lot of food and everything was really tasty. The meat was nicely cooked and the slaw was refreshing (not salty or sickly sweet). I also enjoyed tasting all the sauces on the table. Will definitely come back and try more food.

Brilliant place to have birthday brunch! Had very fast service by a really friendly server called Jay. The drinks were delicious, the food was extraordinary… All in all a great time had by all

I visited Turtle Bay Croydon on a chilly day, hoping for a warm cup of coffee to accompany my meal. Unfortunately, the coffee machine wasn't working, and they informed me that there were no hot drinks available at all, which was quite disappointing. Additionally, the music was quite loud, making it a bit difficult to have a conversation. However, the highlight of my visit was the **goat curry hash**. It was absolutely delicious and warming, perfect for a cold day. The flavors were rich and the dish was very satisfying. Overall, I enjoyed the food, but I would have loved to have a hot coffee to complete the experience.

Such good value for money. 2 of us had the set menu, starter, and main. 2 chose from a la carte, starter, and main. We shared a pudding and had 2 bottles of wine. £40 Staff were great, and we were serenaded by the guitarist. Great night out. Would highly recommend .

Exceptional Christmas meal! We went as a group of 13 and had preordered which we hoped would help, last year at a different restaurant the speed of service was awful and food all arrived separately. Little Bay was exceptional. Warm friendly service, starters arrived quickly and all 13 dishes brought within a minute of each other. Same for the mains and desserts. Food was tasty and everyone was very happy! For £26 you cannot go wrong with this gem! 🤩 I would advise to stick with their normal menu and avoid the Christmas turkey though, the normal offerings are just too good!! 👍 Thanks for a fantastic evening, attentive service and great atmosphere. A lovely evening had by all. ✅

Machan Kitchen, Sri Lankan Restaurant & Cocktail Bar, Croydon
48-50 S End, Croydon CR0 1DP, UK | Restaurant P: 020 3340 5621
Rating: 4.7 (379) Price Level:
Nice Sri Lankan restaurant with nice vegetarian selection. We went for my brother's birthday during the week. There were a few options not available, which maybe offered on the weekend. The decor is authentic and seating basic (not fine dining). We enjoyed the taste of the dishes and service was fairly prompt.
Rating: 5 / 5
In the heart of Croydon, a Sri Lankan restaurant, from the outside it did not suggest anything good, in reality, a really charming, clean and well-kept restaurant. short waiting times. GREAT FOOD really tasty. reasonable prices. Really courteous staff also very friendly manger. bathrooms clean and well maintained. if you are in the area I recommend it. great! Also plates are really nice with sun and moon.
Rating: 4 / 5
Great food, especially if you'd like a kick of spice. The goat curry we had was lovely with string hoppers. I was disappointed though with the Kothu paratha. It had a bit too much vegetables, especially cabbage, felt like a slaw version of Kothu. The prawns in the shell weren't that great. It was difficult to peel and eat.
Rating: 4 / 5
Very tasty food, and big enough portions that we took half of each meal home for tea. The flavours were just a little bit 'polite' compared to dishes we've had in Sri Lankan cafes but this would be a good restaurant to introduce someone to Sri Lankan food.
Rating: 5 / 5
Service was great right from the start. Booking for a large group was easy and smooth sailing. We was a group of 11 for a birthday dinner. Ordering was done via the qr code which was great for a large group and avoided working bill at the end. The food was great portion sizes but some dishes could done with a bit more flavour. The young waiter was very attentive. Would definitely go back. Unfortunately didn't get loads pictures.

Mithras Turkish Mediterranean Restaurant
Unit 11-12, Suffolk House, George St, Croydon CR0 1PE, UK | Turkish Restaurant P: 020 8688 7777
Rating: 4.7 (629) Price Level:
We went there on Christmas eve and took the special menu they offered for £29.95. It was a good choice. For your main meal, you had different options to choose from. It included fish and meat. I selected the mixed grill, and it was more than enough, and the selection was great.

Here is the translation: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I highly recommend this Turkish restaurant! The food was incredibly delicious, authentic, and prepared with great care. The kebab and the meze, in particular, were outstanding! The cleanliness throughout the restaurant is remarkable, everything was spotless. The staff is extremely friendly, attentive, and creates a pleasant atmosphere. You feel completely comfortable here. For anyone who loves Turkish food or wants to try it, this restaurant is an absolute must! I will definitely come back!
Rating: 4 / 5
I recently dined at Mithras, a Turkish restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with beautiful Turkish decor that set the tone for a great meal. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed without being intrusive. The food was delicious—each dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. We started with a mix of mezze, which included creamy hummus, baba ghanoush, and fresh pita bread, all of which were excellent. For the main course, we had the sharing platter which included lamb kebabs, chicken wings, lamb chops and chicken shish, all cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. Overall, it was a great dining experience with good service and authentic flavors. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy Turkish cuisine!
Rating: 5 / 5
What a great experience. The service was really spot on. Greeted at the door by the waitress and got a nice table. Seating was comfortable and the overall environment inside was really nice. Not overboard but really well done. The music was on light enough to hear and not be overwhelmingly loud. Ordered drinks right away and an appetizer that came out quickly and was quite enjoyable. The meals themselves came out in a timely manner. We never felt rushed or anxious about getting our food, or being rushed to eat. We got two different chicken meals and both were moist and delicious and really didn’t need any sauces although I did use some of the garlic and chili sauce, quite sparingly because the taste was really on point. Got an order of sutlac for desert and it was plentiful to split between two of us. Closed the meal off with some Turkish tea that was quite delightful. I have two days left in London and you can count on my last meal being here.

What an absolute gem for brunch! The menu is creative and packed with delicious options – everything we tried was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Their Bloody Mary? Hands down the best I’ve ever had – perfectly spiced and balanced. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is cozy yet modern, with a lovely vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. Definitely my new go-to spot for brunch in town!

I had my birthday lunch in this awesome restaurant. I celebrated with a couple of friends. Our overall experience was great! Food was delicious, fresh and nicely presented. Oysters were my #1. Judy, our waitress was absolutely amazing! She gave us a brief, but essential description of all dishes and really looked after us properly. We surely will be visiting Fern shortly!

Bagatti's Italian
56-58 S End, Croydon CR0 1DP, UK | Italian Restaurant P: 020 8686 9649
Rating: 4.5 (1037) Price Level:
Overall a nice looking restaurant. A good menu option. I choose the lamb Raghu, and I thought it was too much sauce for the quantity of pasta, as well lacking a bit of pepper. My husband got the vongole spaghetti that was very good portion. We thought it was a bit pricey compared to other italian local restaurants that we go in Central London.
Rating: 5 / 5
My dine out with friend’s at Bagatti’s last night was an amazing experience. The Prosecco went down one bottle after the other and so did the food. The Med prawns starter that I ordered was perfect to taste and I later ordered the grilled sea bass with veggies and the only thing left on the plate was the prawn shells as the dish was totally enjoyable. Couldn’t stop with just savoury, so next comes the Chocolate fondant with ice-cream dessert. Delectable and delicate wrapping of the meal. My first visit, but surely not my last. Busy with diners, but the staff lit the place with their friendly smile and served with efficiency. Well done and Thank you, Bagattis. See you soon.
Rating: 5 / 5
This place is always busy - and for good reason! The food is excellent - all your Italian favourites and more with their vast menu! The service - attentive and always friendly. The atmosphere- buzzy and fun. I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl, it’ll always be a firm favourite. Excellent for birthdays too!
Rating: 5 / 5
I was at Bagatti’s for a business lunch for about 70 people so we pretty took over the place and had a special priced menu. The food was delicious and generous portions all round. We had a shared platters to start. For main I had the branzino (sea bass) which was very fresh (I’m very fussy). The staff did an amazing job in getting all the orders in and in front of each diner without error hot out of the kitchen. No delays in starting whilst others waiting for food. Extremely impressive performance from kitchen. I don’t live anywhere remotely near but if I did I would most definitely be back. Highly recommended. A local favourite for good reason. Long may it thrive.
