Had a pleasant sunday afternoon's dining here. This restaurant is extremely popular and has a comfortable feel with a good atmosphere. I went for the special menu as the rest of my party went for the set Sunday lunch deal. Firstly the wild bour ravioli. Which was ok but lacked flavours and very oily. Next I had the fish special of halibut, King prawns served with garlic spinach and capers. This dish was delicious and excellently presented. I'll combined this with some seasonal vegetables. Dessert was a mango cheese cake which was very nice. I had a nibble of my partner's sirloin of beef which was tasty..roast potatoes needed to be more crisper. Good wine but bottled lager only Would return Parking outside limited

Great restaurant with authentic Italian food. Lovely friendly and v efficient staff and there is always a great lively atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Went here for a low key birthday meal: the food was fantastic. We’ve been here before; they always have a great choice of specials an extensive menu. The fish options such as the miso fritte starter are always very fresh and high quality. The portions are massive without scrimping on quality and well worth the price you pay for it. This is quickly becoming one of my favourite restaurants, with options such as lobster 🦞 and the tomahawk (special) surf and turf steak. I think we’ve been about 4 times and never had a bad meal. Brilliant value for money for how much you get. Great service, the staff were tentative and accommodating. I will be visiting again very soon.

A cozy and inviting place with a lovely Christmas atmosphere—perfect for starting your day. The prices are very reasonable and more affordable compared to other spots. The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Popped in mid morning last weekend for breakfast. The bistro is lovely. The decor is fab and the atmosphere is relaxed. The breakfast was very good and the coffee lovely. The service was good. We will definitely go back. It's especially good to have an independent in Chislehurst which opens early every day. I hope Cafe Nene will be very successful and I for one will be supporting this lovely bistro.

Gem of a place. Food is outstanding and reasonably priced. Owners interested in customers without intruding. Waiter excellent. Great ambience. Pavement tables great in the hot weather. Chis is full of food, but doubtful you will get better than this

A real find. Excellent coffee in a decent sized cup. Very good value full English Breakfast or various other options . The service is friendly and welcoming. Decor is industrial/ rustic style and welcoming. Parking can be tricky but there is a car park behind the post office opposite . I am now a regular visitor.

We throughly enjoyed everything about our evening at Fish Union last week. The seafood was some of the tastiest and well cooked I’ve ever had. The young girls who served us were very lovely, professional and thorough. Our favourites were definitely the Octopus and Seafood Bouillabaisse, everything was fresh, tasty & cooked to perfection. Only pointer would be that for the price, the prawns could be served as 4 instead of 3, since it is likely people will be sharing these small plates. Can’t wait to return!

Quality and taste of the food at this restaurant is exceptional. We had the chili prawns then a fish to share with samphire, cabbage and the potatoes. Wow, what a great meal. Love the fishmonger too, it is expensive but you know you’re getting great quality and sustainably sourced fish.

We fancied a seafood lunch so looked up google to see what tickled our fancy. I found this restaurant and thought why not?! The restaurant itself was quite small with a fresh fish counter on display for those who wanted to buy fish/seafood to cook at home. We ordered from the lunch set menu and found it great value. The quality of food was amazing. Everything tasted so fresh and was seasoned so well. Delicious! The bread which came with the mussels was so good alas I was so full that sadly I couldn't finish it! Even though it was just a quick small lunch.. it was possibly one of the best seafood meals I've had (even compared to some of the big names J sheekeys, Scotts, Riddle and Finn, Bentleys, Wright Bros...to name a few!). It was very very agreeable. Pure tasty food with lovely professional yet non pretentious service. We bought a bream from the fish counter to take home for the children's dinner. ...I can confirm that they loved it! The restaurant is not near to where we live but we will definitely be back again!!!

Fancy some real fresh seafood without having to drive all the way to Dover or Folkestone? Look no further! Must try grilled tiger prawns, scallops and their octopus! Lobsters are very fresh and they also have a fish monger counter! We did order a little bit too much but it's rather hard make a choice! The only little letdown are their side dishes, the lettuce was too overgrilled, broccoli bit too oily and triple cooked chips was lacking some taste. But otherwise well done on the small dishes especially! Oh and as there isn't a door between kitchen and restaurant, it does tend to get a little bit 'smelly' so make sure you don't wear your most expensive outfit! Super friendly staff and owner, too!

We went here for lunch as it recently opened in town. The menu was great - the waiter was helpful in guiding us through the cheese options. We had a solo cheese board to share, along with five small plates. The food was exceptional, and the portions were very generous. We highly recommend trying the Sussex Brie drizzled with honey, the truffle mac and cheese, the Burrata, and the baked goat cheese

Absolutely loved everything about this place. Came here with my mum for dinner and we had a board to share - the cheeses and meats were lovely and there were lots of options to choose from. We were really looked after from start to finish. Will definitely be back and recommending to all my friends. Thank you so much for having us.

My friend and I had a brilliant night here last night. Great atmosphere. Tastefully decorated. All the staff were super warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The meats were melt-in-the-mouth incredible and the cheeses were exquisite. The wines we enjoyed were out of this world. We had gluten free bread and crackers. We ordered the Perfect Pair, Baked Camembert (best I have ever had) and garlic mushrooms. We very nearly finished it all. Will definitely be back! Such a fantastic addition to the High Street. I wish everyone at B & B every success in their new venture.

Came to Board and Barrel for dinner a few days after they had opened, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive despite being busy. We had the solo board along with 3 side plates that were exquisite, the board was big and packed with condiments, cheese and meat. Overall the ambience and atmosphere of the place is pleasant with a lovely choice of music. I could not have asked for more from the lovely team at board and barrel and I will most certainly be visiting again

A new favourite of mine, the food is delicious, I cannot recommend the Borscht enough. The staff are always smiling and happy to see us. The entertainment is usually very good of a Saturday evening with the live music, even if I can't understand the words to the songs! The Ukrainians know how to have a good time, it's very apparent with all of the dancing!

How have we not been here before? Amazing service from wonderful staff who are always smiling and so helpful. Maybe it’s the live music on a Saturday night, the dancing or just the super tasty Ukrainian fare with phenomenal wines to match. We had a decent meal here. Food was tasty. It was my first time trying Ukrainian food but the waitress was helpful with guidance and advice. The honey cake in particular was very good. The restaurant was initially a bit chaotic with a children's birthday party but they soon finished, so it was fine. We would like to go back again to try more dishes. Parking is available on the high street or in the nearby car park (RingGo).

Amazing atmosphere, delicious food. Chicken Kyiv is a must! Staff are all pleasant and helpful. Decor create a fine European atmosphere. Oleks was very helpful.

Had an exceptional roast dinner at the Imperial Arms. So impressed. Staff were super friendly and lovely. Especially Ella who took our booking and went out of her way to book a nice table for my partners birthday. Already planning when we will go back we had such a good time.

What a perfect pub...this is without a doubt one of the best, most historic pubs in the area. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and we're greeted by a welcoming, attentive team who clearly take incredible pride in running the pub. The decor is unbelievable and the owners have made sure the 1700's historic pub has been kept beautifully. There is a great selection of drinks including a very reasonable wine list and some great real ales. The food is exceptional and way above a "standard" pub offering. The whole menu is fantastic but the burgers really stand out and should definitely be tried when visiting. A huge thanks to Alan and the team for a great visit, here's to many more.

Celebrated our anniversary here, first time visit for Sunday roast. Ate in the Bistro, lovely intimate historic building. Service attentive and friendly. I ordered the beef, hubby the pork. Absolutely outstanding. My test of a good roast is the quality of Yorkshire as it’s hard to do well on mass throughout the day. Top marks, soft, chewy centre, crispy top, enormous. Then it’s the roasties - although not at crispy as I would have liked, sweet and worth the calories. Beef was sublime with yellow buttery fat. Husbands pork was pullable and the crackling super salty and crispy. Add that the apple sauce was deliciously thyme flavoured. I’d perhaps have gravy on the side in future as I’m a bit particular about too much sauce. Deserts - STP totally sublime - light as a feather, super toffee heaven with a lovely vanilla pod icecream. We will be back totally loved it ❤️

We love Fish Friday and last visited in November following my throat surgery as it was my dream goal to eat the delicious fish served here when I was being fed by a tube throughout the summer months. We came with friends and all 4 meals were outstanding. The service from Ella was excellent too. She was very kind and attentive and made the evening special. Can't wait to come back for more beer battered haddock. It really is the best I've ever eaten. Thank you for helping me to achieve my goal 🙏 ❤

Had a lovely Sunday roast here today. Christmas decorations and music made it feel so cosy. The roasts were delicious, the beef tender and you got plenty of sides, we all left very full. The lady serving us was also lovely. Highly recommend if you enjoy traditional English setting and food.

This place is a little gem . Its only small, but WOW . We booked late September for our Christmas work party . They don't have a alcohol license, So we took our own 🍾 It was £3.50 corkage per bottle. The food was 🤌👌 chefs Kiss. We pre ordered from the Christmas menu. The beef was so tender , the turkey was so soft and moist , it came with all the expected Christmas trimmings. I forgot to take a picture of the main . The puddings were divine. They all looked home made and portion size was great 🥮🍰🧁so many to choose from. I had the Baileys cheesecake 🥰 They are unfortunately fully booked now right through to Christmas Day. We will definitely be rebooking for next year's Christmas lunch . I personally will go back in the new year 😃 ❤️

Excellent home cooked traditional foods. Plenty of selections of all 3 courses if desired. Probably the best place to get a Sunday roast with generous portions and extremely good value for money. Its also bring your own alcohol with corkage at just £3.50 for wines, soft drinks are available. Staff are polite, professional and attentive. Great surroundings and there's parking available. Limited opening times in the week. Take away now available but best to give 24h notice for Sunday collections

AMAZING FOOD!!! Best mother's day meal we have had.... If love a pudding you won't be disappointed with the choice. So much meat with the main. Definitely recommend. You can also bring your own alcohol which keeps your bills down as well.

Best local Italian for sure! Dishes are amazing, especially the scallops and the calves livers! Very hard to find a restaurant that still serves that! Also make sure you don't book too late on the weekend as their best desserts were sold out by 10pm (profiteroles and Tiramisu) Desserts come on a trolley - old school ways. Great staff and good ambiance. Prices are fair, too. Thumbs up will return.

This is a great restaurant that has happy staff who are very attentive to their guests. The food was served in a timely manner and it was of a high quality. I visited the restaurant on a Tuesday evening and it was quite busy, so booking is recommended. The restaurant itself is quite quaint and has a lovely atmosphere. The food choice is good and the prices are reasonable. I will be visiting again.

This is a family owned Italian restaurant owned by an Italian person, with a great ambience.. The food is amazing, always fresh and cooked well. The service is second to none. They always make you feel special and can't do enough for you. Great selection of hot and cold dishes, as well as fish and meat options. It is a very popular restaurant with the locals and gets really busy, so make sure to book a table.

Came here last night for my nans 84th birthday. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was quick and food was amazing! First time coming here and I had calamari to start, fillet steak with peppercorn sauce and a chocolate gateau to finish!

A very friendly staff. Based on the reviews I was expecting an amazing food. Unfortunately, the food is not that of high level. Don't take me wrong food is nice, nothing wrong with it, but not as one would expect to be amazed either with delivery or taste. Just an average reasonable cooked food

A restaurant in a unique location, quirky decor and a slightly secret entrance. Worth going just for the experience ever if you don't like seafood.

Totally top marks for all aspects of Dennys. The food was amazing, hot, and flavoursome, I couldn't get enough of the 3 courses I had. The staff were all friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu. I would highly recommend the restaurant. The secret door off the waiting room in the station makes you feel like you've travelled into another world. Can not wait to go back

Visited with friends and we all had delicious food. The flavours were incredible. There are lots of great options for vegan mains and sides. Only one vegan dessert on the menu. Disappointing that there are no alternative milks available, we then went elsewhere for coffee afterwards

We had a great dinner tonight. All dishes were very good and service was excellent. We were celebrating my father’s birthday and the waiter was so nice to light up his lighter for him (sorry to forget to ask his name). Brandi was also very friendly and sweet. We would love to visit again!

Really great Thai meal. Thoroughly enjoyed. Our servers were all fantastic, in particular Brandy 👍🏼 Daniel was also very sweet. We enjoyed starters, mains and dessert. The portions were very generous so I'm not sure why some people are b*tching about portion size. Chicken Satay starter was delicious! Chicken Massaman Curry was nom nom and the Jasmine Ice Cream with Toasted Rice was a great way to end the meal! Clean toilets, nice decor, lovely service and delicious food. Thoroughly enjoyed everything!

This was my second visit to Giggling Squid in Chislehurst, and I have to say, it’s quickly becoming a favourite. I’ve eaten at countless places and tried squid dishes all over, but hands down, this place serves the best salt and pepper squid I’ve ever had! It’s perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of crunch—one of those dishes that leaves you craving more. The service was also spot-on. The staff was warm, friendly, and made us feel right at home. They’ve really got a knack for creating a welcoming vibe, which is a big part of why I’d come back. Now, as much as I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, there was a bit of… shall we say, “extra excitement” at the table next to us. The kids there seemed to have a mind of their own, and despite their parents’ best efforts, they weren’t exactly quiet dinner companions. Let’s just hope for a bit of luck with our seating next time! Overall, Giggling Squid has secured its spot as our go-to in the area. For anyone who appreciates friendly service and top-notch squid, this place is a must. I am looking forward to my next visit (hopefully with quieter neighbours)!
