Wow! Absolutely perfectly cooked steaks in a nice cosy setting. Staff are so friendly and knowledgeable on the different types of steaks. The chateaubriand was probably the best I've had in a long time and was cooked as per the chefs recommendation! Definitely straight into my top 5 steak restaurants in London, give them a try, you won't be disappointed! I'll be back very soon, thank you for making the evening very special!

We went to Knife for a Sunday roast this weekend and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is good and the service is great - staff are so friendly! The roast itself was fantastic (one of the best roasts I've had out at a restaurant), especially the meat. We also loved the extra bread and mini Yorkshire puddings that we got before the roast came. 100% recommend here - will definitely be coming back!

Perfect spot for a cosy Autumn/Winter roast! Staff are delightful and all roasts come with multitude of sides - including the stinking bishop cauliflower cheese, delicious enough to convert even the most anti-cauliflower eaters. Sticky toffee pudding was perfect end as well. Highly recommend but book ahead to secure your spot.

We had been living in the UK for 6months and decided to have our first Sunday roast! We were not disappointed at all!! From the start the staff were so warm and friendly and made us feel welcomed. The food was just stunning, full of flavour and we weren’t waiting too long at all! We had the beef roast and pork belly 🍽️ We were convinced to have some desert as a treat and the sticky toffee pudding was delicious! We will definitely be returning for many more Sundays to come 🫶🏻

I came here with a friend to try Ethiopian food for the first time and the owner was very informative on how to properly eat the food and tea. The food was fantastic and his service was amazing as well. We were the first ones in the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and we had great conversation with the owner. Will be coming back soon!

The most authentic Ethiopian food I have ever bet tasted outside Ethiopia. I am a picky eater and a food enthusiast I wouldn’t just throw this words around. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the food I tasted at Kategna. The authentic Enjera is a perfect base. I was worried at first when I saw a lot of empty chairs to just be blown up by the feast. We had the vegi platter as a base and had Kitfo, Zelzel tibs, and tibs. Zelzel tebs comes with a side salad. We had a food coma just because we couldn’t stop eating. I would 100% recommend Kategna for an authentic Ethiopian taste. Well done ya’ll!

I had early dinner with my friend, was not sure as never had Ethiopian traditional food before, was swept by the vegetarian platter, it was full of flavours and nutritious. Also, loved traditional fresh roasted coffee later. The service was great, felt very welcome.

On January 2nd, we had the pleasure of dining at Szechuan Kitchen, a charming little gem located at 43 South Lambeth Road, London. Nestled in a cozy setting, this restaurant offers a delightful escape into the heart of authentic Chinese cuisine. As a food blogger, I've explored countless Chinese restaurants across London, each with its own unique offerings. However, Szechuan Kitchen truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm ambiance that set the stage for an incredible culinary experience. We indulged in around 12 different dishes, and I can confidently say that every single one was superbly delicious. Each plate showcased the vibrant flavors and intricate techniques that define authentic Chinese cooking. It was a challenge to pick a favorite, as every dish brought something special to the table. The variety of flavors, textures, and aromas made for an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you’re a fan of spicy Szechuan dishes or prefer milder options, there's something for everyone at Szechuan Kitchen. In conclusion, if you’re searching for the best authentic Chinese restaurant in London, look no further than Szechuan Kitchen. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a true taste of China in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. This place has certainly earned a special spot on my list of favorite dining spots! Kennington Lane Cafe

This place is an absolute must when visiting London. It has everything you want in a greasy spoon. As an Irishman it pains me to say this but I've never had such an amazing breakfast in all my life. The bubble, fried slice, and sausage were nothing short of mind blowing. Staff and atmosphere was also superb!

Lovely local cafe with gigantic and delicious breakfast. Gee was our server, and he welcomed us into his place. And even though it was filled with mostly locals, he humored us with group photos. Men in high visibility construction vests were seated all around us. You know you’ve found a gem when this is the case. Would return!

We decided to have breakfast here since we were staying nearby and had read all the wonderful reviews. We tried three different breakfast dishes along with fresh orange juice, and everything was delicious – we left feeling full and satisfied! While the food was tasty, it was really the warm atmosphere and the kindness of the staff that made the experience memorable. Their friendliness and genuine attentiveness are what keep people coming back and leaving such positive feedback. Thank you for making our morning special – I’m sure you brighten the day for so many of your customers! 😊

We were immediately charmed by this cafe. The atmosphere is everything you are expecting from the outside with a bustling vibe. A real local experience. The plates are loaded high with comforting food that feels like it came straight out of your mums kitchen in the early 2000s. Prices are super reasonable. Would definitely recommend the stop by if you’re hungry - vegetarian and halal available. Orders the vegan breakfast - and I am not a huge fan of fake meats - and was pleasantly surprised when the vegan sausage was more like a sausage shaped bubble and squeak, instead of a traditional vegan sausage!

I’ve lived in Kennington for 15 years and have always meant to try this place. Finally did today and regret not coming in sooner. Friendly staff, good food, good service. Good fry up with decent Cumberland style sausages and bubble (bit of a rarity south of the river). I’ll definitely be back and would recommend!

Dined here on Thanksgiving while on a work trip to London. Lamb chops were so succulent, I am still thinking about them weeks later… great staff, very attentive service even though I was dining solo. The chocolate pudding dessert was unreal. Make sure to add this to your list and also make sure to snag a reservation since the line was out the door! Wish I had the time to dine here once a week if I could so to explore the rest of the menu offerings!

Overall the food was good and the service was great. We got a table very quickly. The okra fries were really tasty (very small portion) but the other dishes tried lacked some flavour and spices. The place was crowded, the music was nice even though it was very loud from all the people talking. You can definitely get more authentic food for almost half the price at more local places but the experience is worth trying once I guess.

The food is good here but not the best Indian food I’ve eaten. The restaurant is nice inside, particularly downstairs in the booths but we were made to wait at the door despite having a reservation and while people who just rocked up were given tables before us. Hit a table 20mins after our reservation time, that needs to be fixed. The service inside at the table was excellent and we were given some free starters because of the wait. Worth a visit if you’re in the area but arrive 10mins before your reservation to avoid the mess at the door.

Great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere, we needed to wait for about 30 mins due to it being busy around 12 but with plenty of seating downstairs it wasn't a problem. The staff were great making sure we had what we needed and we're very friendly. The food was so good, full of flavour, beautifully cooked and well prepared and presented. The only comment on the food is it was all a touch hotter than anticipated. Even so it didn't take anything away from the food or the experience. Well worth a visit.

A spontaneous unplanned visit turned into one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in London. Luis welcomed us with a big smile and took our orders. There is an instant good vibe at Fumeiro when you walk in. It feels like you’ve stepped off the streets of Porto into a family kitchen with linen table cloths and a Portuguese deli attached. Super unique and friendly. The house special lamb skewer was one of those dishes you wish went on forever. Large pieces of tasty juicy lamb on a giant skewer fresh off the charcoal. The fresh mint sauce and traditional Portuguese accompaniments left me with a big smile. I would eat this every day if I could! My friend ordered mini steak with egg and fries which went down a treat. £5 pints of yummy superbock beer and large glasses of delicious Portuguese wine for less than a fiver…prices simply unheard of in London in 2024. But the food is the main star. Our visit this time was unplanned but I have a new favourite. Thank you Luis and team for a happy, delicious and memorable Friday night dinner!

I had the pleasure of going to Naughty Piglets during the summer In August when the wonderful talented previous Master Chef contestant Philippe Sunnoeo was doing a residency there. The menu was DIVINE, Top tier, rich, beautiful flavours, and this will always be experience when eating Chef Philippe Sonou’s food. I heard that he will be doing another residency with Naughty piglets this month and I can’t wait to see what he has on the menu. Philippe has a way of making food look so beautiful and taste absolutely deliscious. His food is always a work of art and a beautiful combination of african flavour with french technique. You must try his food!

As with many Portuguese restaurants around this area, the food was in big portions, affordable, but most of all absolutely delicious! But I think what makes this place stand out is the relaxed atmosphere (as my mate said, “it’s like we’re on holiday”), and the superbly kind and unpretentious yet attentive staff. The three lions transported us back to the streets of Lisbon, with the taste of £3 superbocks lingering as we waddled back to the station. 10/10!

I had bacalhau with potatoes, a very generous portion indeed! It felt like being back home in an Italian trattoria. The food was delicious. We were a group of 15 friends out for dinner and decided to try Portuguese cuisine – and it was absolutely fantastic. The service was excellent: attentive, with plenty of good-natured humour. The sparkling Malvasia was incredible. As a sommelier, I hadn’t expected such fine, fresh aromas, followed by a couple of lovely whites and reds. (Around six of us stuck with sparkling all evening!) The food was fresh, lightly seasoned, but absolutely delicious. They offer a diverse menu with plenty of options to choose from. I thoroughly enjoyed everything. The ambiance was wonderful, and we had a brilliant time. Highly recommended!

For the quality of the food we tasted, this felt perfectly priced. This is hands on the best restaurant I’ve been to. I’d recommend trying the chicken liver parfait, and the chocolate pot, both were wow.

To me, one of the best restaurants in London for all occasions. Service is exceptional. Ambience, food servicing, selection of spirits, it all gives you a unique experience. My personal top choice is breakfast for sure, definitely go for French toast, and try any pastry (these are freshly baked every morning) Dinner is also worth mentioning. Every dish is a masterpiece. From starters, I really enjoyed scallops and mackerel tartar. As for the main, my go-to is octopus (it just melts)

Visited HIDE for breakfast and I would say it has to be one of the most opulent breakfast experiences I've had! The venue is truly stunning and ascending the iconic staircase to my table really set the scene for the experience. I ordered the Full English with poached eggs and a Flat White. Both were excellent, every element of the breakfast plate was meticulously prepared and presented. The bread and butter were incredibly good and the eggs were poached to perfection. The coffee was also excellent, I chose an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee however there are a variety of coffees to choose from. Service was relaxed and attentive without being overbearing. It's not every day one gets the chance to have a Michelin-starred breakfast. It's a very enjoyable experience and one I would recommend!
