“A lovely decor. Nicely arranged and clean. Staff was normal not the friendliest, but did the job. As long as they remember that Chai is tea, so when asked what tea they have, no point saying “Chai 🙄” The food was plenty, a good portion for a mixed grill. Flavour could be a bit more poignant. Price not bad £55.36 for the area.”

“The absolute best ever India meal we have all ever had!!! We cannot praise the restaurant and its staff enough. Everything was perfect and so very reasonably priced. Great menu, that was easy to choose from and a great selection of classic and interesting dishes. We were so delighted with this restaurant. Great location, close to Paddington station. Such a great vibe with the most delightful staff. We cannot recommend Tumeric Kitchen enough... as I said "The Best India Meal we have ever had"”

Uzbek Corner London

“Hidden gem by nature, this unique Uzbek restaurant is located inside the Queensway market. Between Bayswater and Queensway station. The food is traditional and home made by a family and it’s served by the same owners. We went on a Thursday evening and it was packed. So I highly recommend to book in advance as they can only accompany few tables at a time. The Uzbek dumplings were delicious. The carrots salad was fresh and tasty and the Samoas very filling and made on demand! I will definitely go back. The atmosphere is fantastic. It really feels like being in another country. Oh and the mint tea was perfect to accompany the meal.”

“*I highly recommend you book, its unlikely you will get a walk-in table for dinner and I watched many people try and fail whilst waiting for my table. Also, you aren't guaranteed a space upstairs, it's wherever you're seated on the system so just keep that in mind if you're main motivation is the aesthetics. A nice edition to the Big Mama chain on restaurants . The restaurant is very showy and extravagant to sit in, with a slightly more muted downstairs area which I was seated in. I preferred this as the tables were less squeezed together and it felt more calm with less people in the way trying to get the best pictures. All the staff were kind and helpful and I found the service to be very good, though a slower than I expected, seeing as you have a time limit for your table (we stayed around 30mins longer than the amount we were meant to have). That being said, we still had a 3 course meal and didn't feel rushed at all which was excellent. The food was very good (definitely preferred over Ave Mario where I found the food salty and not well seasoned) though I personally wish there was less items on the menu that were so heavily cheese centred. I had the seafood pasta and the amount of seafood included was decent but not overly generous. Portions in my opinion are good, after finishing my food I was certainly full up. The drinks were good and the seats comfortable. Our bill was around £220 plus service charge for 2 people and we had antipasti to share, a primi (pasta) and a dessert each and 3 alcoholic drinks, mainly being cocktails. Not the cheapest of places but I would recommend for an occasion or a nice treat.”

Tajrish Restaurant

“The Iranian meals in Tajrish were very good. But, the Georgian red wine that our waiter has offered was really the star of our meal. If you are staying around, Tajrish would be a different and tasty option.”

“Good vibe, good food, and great staff. The pizzas are a good size for two adults. If you're really hungry, then you want to order the salads. Didn't see a kids' menu, but it would be worth asking. The only to improve is the toppings. The fennel sausage pizza toppings weren't evenly spread or felt like it wasn't enough. I'm sure that's an easy fix 😀 Would def be back.”

“The food here is creative, fresh and completely delicious. Anyone that has anything to say about British food should come here first. Our mains were the beef and the venison which were tender and flavourful, although my unexpected favourite was the Jerusalem artichoke tart. The service was attentive and friendly (I quite like the staff uniforms. They go well with the theme!). The atmosphere really felt like a converted aesthetic garden shed. It’s was warm and inviting, and complemented the food. Highly recommended!”

Al Waha
75 Westbourne Grove, London W2 4UL, UK
Phone: 020 7229 0806
“We decided to try AlWaha on our last night in London. We were staying in Notting Hill and were looking for a small, locally owned place for a quiet, casual dinner. It was wonderful. The gentlemen working there were so hospitable and wanted everyone to enjoy their dining experience. We felt so doted upon, and kept saying, if we lived there, we would dine at AlWaha all the time. And the food…. Oh my gosh!! Everything we ordered was so delicious!! 2 days later, we are still talking about the feta cheese salad and the Kafta with yogurt and pine nuts!!”

Normah's
23, 25 Queensway, London W2 4QJ, UK
Phone: Not available
“Normah's, tucked away in Queensway Market, offers a simple dining experience that resonates with those who appreciate mom-and-pop establishments serving elevated home-style Malaysian cuisine. Do note the restaurant is on the far left of the first perpendicular corridor you see when you enter the Queensway market. It took me quite a while to find this place the first time. First of all, the Nasi Goreng was a standout. The rice was perfectly cooked, each grain distinct, and the crispy elements with the fried rice struck a harmonious balance, resulting in a dish that was both satisfying and flavourful. I can keep downing this again and again. Best Malaysian Nasi Goreng Inahd in London indeed. Also, the Prawn Laksa was exceptional. The broth, rich and aromatic, had a depth of flavor that was both comforting and invigorating. In addition, we tried the Roti Canai with Beef Rendang. While the beef rendang was tender, it leaned towards a sweeter profile and lacked the expected heat, differing from versions I have enjoyed elsewhere. The roti also was too flaky causing it to crumble excessively, which resulted in a texture that deviated from the overall enjoyment of the dish. Finally, despite the small space, they made up for that with stellar service that is warm and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Normah, the lady in charge, offers a delightful journey into Malaysian cuisine. While there were minor disappointments with the Roti Canai and Beef Rendang, the overall experience was enjoyable. I would recommend this restaurant to those seeking authentic Malaysian flavours in a homely setting and look forward to returning to this spot some other day.”
