A friend recommended this place during our London trip. We loved everything we experienced. We had the steak, which was tender and juicy. Our apple-crumbled dessert was the perfect finale for the evening. The atmosphere was charming. Our waiter was amiable and attentive.

Absolutely fantastic on every count. The service, the atmosphere, and importantly, the food. Could not fault it at all. Wanted a great meaty restaurant to take my vegetable hating husband to on his birthday. Someone at work had recommended Blacklock so I booked it. We’ve been to Hawksmoor a few times and loved it, so our expectations were high and it did not disappoint. Staff were amazing from the moment we arrived. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Attentive to exactly the right level. Food was sensational. We had the Prime Rib (700g) and a bacon chop, plus fries. So good. Deserts were also lovely- bread and butter pudding and 698142 cheese cake both fabulous. We then had a tipple at the bar on the way out. All excellent and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

From start to finish, this meal lived up to the hype. Everything was cooked well and seasoned to perfection. Their fillet steak was very reasonably priced and extremely good quality. Their house sauce was a take on peppercorn sauce and was perfect. I'm not a big pork chop or lamb chop guy, but those were great, too. The beef dripping cooked chips were sensational. Now, let's talk about that white chocolate cheesecake... I could have eaten the whole tray. It was that good. I don't recall ever having a better tasting cheesecake. I'm planning on returning here ASAP. Staff were helpful and friendly too.

I understand the hype. The food was incredible, from the starters to the mains and dessert. We ordered the pork ribs, and all in platter for 2 people, and a porterhouse chop with Bone marrow, fries and sweet potato for 4 people to share. It was delicious, perfectly Cooked and seasoned. The desserts which I didn’t take a pic of were also incredible, the star being the white chocolate cheesecake which was deconstructed. Fabulous meal it was packed on a Tuesday, service was nice but the staff are run off their toes busy. The meal was so good we booked another table while eating our meal.

We went for a birthday dinner, and we couldn't have been happier. From the moment we walked into the dining room, the staff were warm and welcoming. The menu flowed at a great pace, and the dishes were executed perfectly, flavours were outstanding of every dish along with their descriptions. We must thank Em our Sommelier on the night and Paolo for their amazing hospitality throughout the night. We were super happy with the wine choice! It was truly memorable.

2 stars Michelin restaurant in Shoreditch. It’s used to be number 32 but fell to 80th place in the world’s best restaurant (as of June 2024). Dropped out of top 50 unfortunately. Came here for lunch on Saturday. We chose the short tasting menu. I had to say all were excellent. I usually judge the restaurant by the bread and butter. I found bread was slightly tough. The butter was good but not outstanding. I also feel they should improve “the attention to detail of the whole dining experience”. Felt more like Michelin restaurant rather than world’s top 100. If you happen to experience in Tokyo or in Asia or Paris etc, you would understand. IFKYK

Outstanding experience. I had lunch here in mid-December and the food and service is incredible. The dining room is beautiful and is arranged so each table has a view of the kitchen. Nearly everything on the tasting menu is exceptional. The dishes have a good level of restraint applied to them so you end up with clean flavours and a clear display of the chefs' skill. With one exception, each course had a very strongly flavoured element - such as the pungent ginger in the sardine sashimi or the almond beurre noisette in the trout dish - which bought everything together in a well-balanced way. The best dish was the Orkney scallop with black truffle - great to see Scottish produce so prominent in a London restaurant. There were some hiccups, namely the dry-aged pork dish not being quite as good as the rest of the menu and the ice cream in the potato mouse being on the melted side - to be fair, the flavours were outstanding, and, as far as sweet and savoury desserts go, this was probably the best I've had. I didn't opt for the pairing but instead had a glass of champagne and Clos Lunelles from Bordeaux, which were both excellent recommendations from the sommelier. I don't think I can remember service at a restaurant being as good as it is here. If, like me, you haven't experienced something like it before, it's great fun to watch, and even better to experience in-person. The staff, whilst quite formal and professional, are very hospitable and accommodating, and do such an outstanding job in such an effortless way. The initial welcome is amazing if you've never experienced something like it before; going out of their way to greet you and make you feel comfortable, pulling your chair out, giving you a hot towel - I'm sure this is fairly standard for a lot of restaurants of this calibre but it was so special for me. The young members of the team are charming and very skilled for being at an early stage of their careers. Syah (I hope I spelled that right!) went the extra mile to make it a special experience. She is a star and was able to build rapport in such a natural way - I hope she goes far in hospitality because she's certainly got the talent for it! I would thoroughly recommend the Clove Club and if I had the money for it I would go there regularly.

It feels like you have been invited into an Italian home and they have cooked you the most delicious pasta. It’s homey and delicious. The starters are unparalleled and the fresh pastas are so creamy and rich you thought there would be no space for dessert - but you must not leave without trying the tiramisu. The ravioli was the best I have ever had and the cacio e pepe transported me right into Italy. This place is a London gem!

Absolutely amazing restaurant! Great staff and incredible food - just gutted we don’t live closer so we can’t visit often! However we will definitely be back next time we are in London! Thank you!

Really nice surprise. It was our first time and for sure we will come back. Very nice handmade pasta, authentic and awesome combination and menu options. Really affordable for the quality and the service that they deliver. They are very friendly and helpful explaining about the menu etc. Highly recommended to everyone that enjoy italian food.

It serves some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had in London! The gnocco is absolutely divine, and the Lambrusco wine pairs perfectly with everything. It’s a true hidden gem that I can’t recommend enough. However, the dining experience could be improved. The space is quite small, with tables very close to each other, which can feel a bit cramped. Sitting near the door on a cold day is particularly uncomfortable, as the door doesn’t close properly and lets in a chilly draft that’s hard to ignore. Despite the seatings issues, the incredible food makes it worth the visit.

Brilliant. The food was impeccable from the sides to the main steak. Tried 2 different ones and I couldn’t stop. The service was the best I’ve received in any restaurant I’ve been in, I have to shout out Denzel and Camilla as they were my servers who were friendly, funny and made sure we were well looked after on our anniversary. Definitely worth the money and everyone has to try this place.

Me and my partner went for our 3 year anniversary because we love steak. We had a wonderful time and food was perfect! Our server Denzel was very kind and gave us spectacular service, even going above and beyond to surprise us with a special desert for our occasion! It made our night that much more special.

I visited this establishment in November 2024 as part of a medium sized group for a birthday party on a weekday evening. Live Music While this is a restaurant with a bar, the key attraction is the live blues music. It is worth going just for that even if you do not sit down and eat. My suggestion is that if you do want to enjoy the music, rather than sitting at the diner style restaurant area (situated to the left as you enter), you instead go and sit at the tables view a view to the music stage (situated on the right as you enter). For those of you who have been in New Orleans and the State of Louisiana you will get those southern vibes. Food The food is adequate and competitively priced for what you get. That said, the key attraction is the music. Vegan and vegetarian options are available and the chef is happy to accommodate removing ingredients from dishes to make them vegan. Also there is a vegan burger option. Service The service is quite good and above average for post pandemic customer service standards. The waiters are very helpful and get your order and food out quickly. One thing to bear in mind and adjust your expectations is that this is a very popular place with an almost unique music offering in London and as such when you book a table for 2 hours they mean it. If you want a place where you will occupy a seat for hours, you are better off sitting for a drink near the stage. Worth noting is that the stuff are happy to split the bill for you without you having to do the calculations for them which makes thing easy and straightforward. For birthday occasions bear in mind that the chef does not keep cakes overnight at the kitchen, so any birthday cakes have to be brought when you arrive. Value The prices are competitive and are reasonable enough if you like the music to be good value for money to visit once a month. Atmosphere As mentioned above if you like blues music this is the place for you. While the restaurant occupies most of the premises, the real value is by the bar and the music stage.

We visited for a birthday celebration and were really impressed. The cocktails were really tasty and good measures. The bar is definitely the best visual aspect of this venue. The food we ordered had run out so we reordered and were given a glass of Prosecco each to apologise. The food was really good and big portions. We receive a free birthday dessert with a candle - but no singing (thankfully). The live music was a nice touch.

Absolutely loved going here on Saturday the vibes were amazing and the staff were really helpful. However we had a booth booked for 11pm and didn’t actually get seated until around 11:30 which wasn’t the end of the world but was a little frustrating considering we paid a deposit for it. However after that we loved it and had a great night!

Came here for Oh Gee award winning K-Chicken. The potato crisp chicken was great, amazing texture and crisp. May need a bit more seasoning. Sweet and spicy wings were also good! Nice friendly service but would have been 5 stars if seasoning was better

Came here for the Oh Gee! pop up last week which is in residence until the end of December. I'd never been to the hotel before and (sadly) knew nothing of Oh Gee before walking past and seeing the menu, but being a fan of Korean food and all things fried chicken I had to go! The hotel is beautiful and has a very chic trendy vibe to the bar and grill area. I can't believe I've never been in before but on a Wednesday night it was buzzing when we left around 7-8ish. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful from the front of house right through. It's made me want to use it on my next stay over in London that's for sure. They give you some complimentary pickled radish and a shredded potato dish which I've forgotten the name of, usually I'd never have ordered either but wow, they were some of the best pickled/fermented dishes I've ever had. Beautifully fresh and balanced. For starters we went for the Fried Stuffed Green Pepper and the Prawn Toast, both of which were delicious. The stuffed pepper especially was very tasty with light crisp batter and a well spiced filling. Then on to the main event, we went for two coatings for the chicken the Potato Crisp and the Supreme. The Potato Crisp is really crunchy and delicious, in hindsight we should have got a dip to go with it but it did balance out the Supreme, which is like a sweet honey drizzle over the crispy chicken with spicy mayo over it. It's both sweet and spicy at the same time so the more savoury potato crisp went well with it. We also got the Kimchi fries which they did have to swap out the fries for sweet potato fries for as they'd run out of fries however, the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've had. They were nice and crisp and I really didn't miss the regular fries after the first bite. The Kimchi was beautiful, well balanced and nothing like you'll have tried from anywhere else. It had a real depth of flavour. We had a couple of spicy margarites as well which were also delicious. We didn't try the desserts as we'd been too ambitious with the chicken so I'll definitely be coming back and leaving room for the Croffle Ice Cream sandwich.

We visited the Oh Gee pop-up at Hoxton Grill specifically for the Korean fried chicken. We ordered the potato crisps fried chicken (highly recommended since it’s what the chef won the K-Chicken competition for) and the soy flavor. While the potato crisps chicken was fantastic and lived up to the hype, the soy-flavored chicken was just okay, nothing special. The other items we tried were also pretty underwhelming, not really worth mentioning. I’d definitely come back for the potato crisps fried chicken, but probably wouldn’t order anything else.
