Naroon Marylebone

17 New Cavendish St, London W1G 9UA, UK | Restaurant
P: 020 7920 6442

Rating: 4.8 (1373) Price Level:

We ordered a variate of dishes. The starters were pretty good, especially the aubergine dishes. I think the bread was the weak part which surprised me as this kind of restaurant usually have amazing bread, but this was dense and not good texture. The main was a mix with chicken and lamb. The chicken lacked flavors but the lamb was a lot better.

Top quality food and value for money. One of the best Persian restaurants I've been to. Food came within 15mins. It was fresh and tender. Tasty and juicy. Highly recommend. Service was very good but can be improved by being bit attentive. I understand the restaurant was extremely busy. Will definitely visit again.

Whenever I have visitors I bring them to Naroon. I know Naroon will never let me down! It's my favorite restaurant in London... And I can easily say my favorite Persian place! 5 stars and my fox 🦊 seal of approval!

Food as always absolutely delicious, well seasoned, fresh ingredients. The meat is my favourite and the aubergine dip is to die for. Every time I come, it never disappoints. The service was really nice and professional. The homemade saffron, rose and pistachio ice cream is a must try!! Wow, so delicious we ordered twice. Highly highly recommend!

The highlight of my dinning here was the friendliness of the staff. They were accommodating and attentive. The food was excellent had the grill platter with Saffron rice for about ÂŁ26 and the chicken in pomegranate molasses for ÂŁ17 and it was both delicious. We had a rose drink with flex seeds and we had a Keshka badngan which was surprisingly with no bread and we had t order one . A g few at experience!!

Rating: 4.8 (7225) Price Level:

Such a delightful lunch experience last Sunday! As I mentioned, I really love tiramisu, and my wish came true—it was served in such an authentic way! The pasta was a bit salty for me, as I usually eat less salty food, but the customer service was so pleasant. Thank you for making the reservation and waiting for me there! I also discovered a farmer’s market next to the restaurant, which was another wonderful surprise 🤩. I plan to visit the market every Sunday to pick up some special ingredients for my cooking 🧑‍🍳. London is treating me well!

Food was nice but lacking in a bit of substance. There were two prawns in a £36 bowl of pasta and two meatballs in my partners pasta. Service was virtually non-existent and we had to flag our waiter for drinks and they remove the drinks menu each time. They tried to remove my starter which was not finished when they brought our mains and one of the dishes was chipped. Atmosphere is lovely but I wouldn’t return and don’t rate the value for money aspect.

*I highly recommend you book, its unlikely you will get a walk-in table for dinner and I watched many people try and fail whilst waiting for my table. Also, you aren't guaranteed a space upstairs, it's wherever you're seated on the system so just keep that in mind if you're main motivation is the aesthetics. A nice edition to the Big Mama chain on restaurants . The restaurant is very showy and extravagant to sit in, with a slightly more muted downstairs area which I was seated in. I preferred this as the tables were less squeezed together and it felt more calm with less people in the way trying to get the best pictures. All the staff were kind and helpful and I found the service to be very good, though a slower than I expected, seeing as you have a time limit for your table (we stayed around 30mins longer than the amount we were meant to have). That being said, we still had a 3 course meal and didn't feel rushed at all which was excellent. The food was very good (definitely preferred over Ave Mario where I found the food salty and not well seasoned) though I personally wish there was less items on the menu that were so heavily cheese centred. I had the seafood pasta and the amount of seafood included was decent but not overly generous. Portions in my opinion are good, after finishing my food I was certainly full up. The drinks were good and the seats comfortable. Our bill was around ÂŁ220 plus service charge for 2 people and we had antipasti to share, a primi (pasta) and a dessert each and 3 alcoholic drinks, mainly being cocktails. Not the cheapest of places but I would recommend for an occasion or a nice treat.

Mielo Restaurant

35 Paddington St, London W1U 4HQ, UK | Mediterranean Restaurant
P: 020 7935 2252

Rating: 4.8 (624) Price Level:

I wouldn't say I was overly impressed, but nevertheless it was good food with good service. I think what spoiled it was how noisy it was, not with people but the live musicians in the corner. Too loud, which meant everyone was talking loudly and we on our table were struggling to enjoy a conversation. Food was good, but not wow. I've had better. Great selection of spirits and wines. A lot of the menu I thought was over priced for what it was. Some was fair. The 15% service charge was a bit much, considering the atmosphere was too busy. Charging ÂŁ6 for a bottle of water cost ÂŁ30! So ended up paying over ÂŁ100 just in service charge and water! That I was not impressed with. I did enjoy the evening and food was good, but unfortunately not worth 5 stars.

My wife and I had a wonderful meal at Mielo last night! The food was delicious. In particular the octopus was very tender and all of the meat was high quality. Thank you to Engin and his team, especially the Manager and Jericho for looking after us so well. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere with nice live background music playing. Would highly recommend!

One of the best places I've been to in London. Mielo stands out for all aspects: mouth-watering flavours in all dishes offered; significantly delicious dessert and extremely friendly staff. Special thanks to Nicol. Seabass with white wine and lemon sauce, chicken fillet and ink linguini are highly recommended đź‘Ś

We visited Mielo as a group of 12 for a Christmas gathering and had a good experience overall. The service was attentive, and the staff made sure we were well looked after. I ordered the lamb loin, which was cooked perfectly and paired nicely with the accompanying vegetables and sauce. However, the portion size was smaller than expected, and I had to order an extra side. The garlic mushrooms were tasty but quite expensive at £6 for a small portion. While the food and atmosphere were enjoyable, the pricing felt a bit high for the portion sizes. Still, it’s a good spot for a special occasion, especially if you don’t mind splurging a little. A nice touch was the small box of chocolates we received at the end which added to the festive feel.

Had an amazing first visit to Bao Marylebone! The food was fantastic – we tried the fried chicken, beef rice, beef noodles, beef short rib bao, and mushroom dumplings. Every dish was packed with flavor and definitely worth a visit. The highlight, however, was the service. A huge shout-out to Justin, who made the experience unforgettable. I've never had such an attentive waiter, and his service truly elevated our meal. I'll definitely be back for round two, and while I might not remember every dish, I’ll certainly remember Justin’s exceptional service. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed each visit at this restaurant - it’s also a bit easier to get a booking vs their King’s Cross branch. There’s a nice area upstairs and downstairs. The menu has so much to choose from, and food has been very nice every time we’ve been.

I visited Hoppers in Soho for a team dinner with my colleagues, and the experience was truly delightful. From the moment we stepped in, the warm ambiance and attentive service set the tone for a fantastic evening. The food was a symphony of bold, authentic Sri Lankan flavors and offered incredible value for money. I opted for their pre-set veggie menu, while some of my colleagues chose the classic menu. Both were excellent choices, allowing us to sample a variety of their most popular dishes. The Chilli Garlic Broccoli, Idli Sambhar, and Egg Hopper were absolute standouts for me—bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared. My colleagues couldn’t stop raving about the bone marrow, calling it a must-try dish. Hoppers combines exceptional food, great service, and a vibrant atmosphere into an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore Sri Lankan cuisine in London!

Nice vibe, the food is delicious but quite spicy. Among all the food we ordered only the aubergine Kari is mild and it’s delicious. The chilli cheese dosa is good too but very spicy. I love the guava lassi. Chicken Latinos nice too. Reservation recommended, we booked for 5:15pm and by 7pm were asked to return the table, quite busy on a Saturday evening.

Had a nice lunch at this Hoppers at St. Christopher’s place in marylebone. Laid back ambience. Service staff were extremely attentive and efficient. It gets busy at lunch time with the business crowd so booking ahead is a good idea. The food was great; flavorful without being overpowering. I particularly enjoyed the green peppercorn chicken, which managed to be moist while having a somewhat crispy exterior. The deviled tofu was delicious. Spice levels are quite high even when described as mild. Free sparkling water is a nice touch. Prices are reasonable for central London.

Had a lovely late afternoon meal with my girlfriend at Flat Iron Marylebone. Food was amazing, steak cooked just how I liked. We had their chips, creamed spinach, and truffle mac n cheese for sides. Had a great time in Flat iron today. The steak is delicious and the sides were even better! Especially the truffle mash! The free popcorn and ice cream is a lovely touch. Only downside was that the lady who brought our food over was rude and ignored our request for a missing dish and sauces. Aside from that, the other servers and overall experience was great, so thank you.

This place deserves a straight 5 stars in everything. We were a party of 6 ladies, where each one asked to order and pay separately. There was no mistake or confusion in any order. Service was fast and all food was great. While waiting to be served, free popcorns were on the table (fresh and warm) We had their classic steak and it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. All the side dishes were delicious. We tried the mashed potatoes, the spinach , the mac & cheese and the aubergine and they all were so tasty. Prices are so affordable too. While leaving, we were offered free ice cream cones which topped up our lovely experience I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting central London

Visited at 3pm and have to wait around 15mins and sat at the counter as I was alone. Provided with popcorn while waiting for food and ice cream upon leaving the restaurant. The steak was good. I would like to compliment Ms Naf who was at the bar. She was attentive and pro-active to take my order and settle my bill. I believe that was not her job, but she was very nice to help. Lovely 🌹 I gave a four stars as they are so popular, that you will have to wait.

Came for the Christmas set menu which was decent. Enjoyed the cocktails most, the beetroot and feta salad missed a little pizzazz but the greens made up for it in the turkey roast. Good note is that the bread in the salad was warm which was nice. The roast potatoes could have been better as it wasn't super crispy but was akin to canteen roast potatoes. Server was really helpful and nice, provided support when called. The parsnips and Brussels sprouts were also to a Bill's standard.

Feeling quite hungry, we were thrilled to find such a cosy spot. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal. The pasta was absolutely fantastic! The wine selection was also impressive, offering a wide variety of choices to pair with the meal. To top it all off, we indulged in a pistachio tiramisu for dessert, which was a unique and delicious twist on the classic. Overall, a great dining experience that we would highly recommend to anyone looking for quality Italian food in the area.

Great italian restaurant hidden away from the busy street, but having its own magnetic charm. We’ve got the house special starter - prosciutto and seared/grilled artichokes, followed by medium rare steak (top notch 👌🏼), gnocchi with peas and parmesan, and a good salad to pair all this with. The waitress was really attentive and made great recommendations. At the end, we’ve got a sweet treat of cannoli and rum baba that paired amazingly with our tea. Food good, atmosphere good, service good, what’s not to love!? Definitely recommend 🤗

Beast

Rating: 4.6 (1165) Price Level:

Beast Restaurant Review If you’re looking for an extraordinary dining experience, Beast is the place to go. From the moment you walk in, the classy environment sets the stage for an unforgettable evening. One unique feature that stands out is the communal seating arrangement; sharing a long table with other guests adds an exciting social element while preserving the restaurant’s exclusive ambiance. The cocktails are exceptional. Their Old-Fashioned is perfectly balanced, and the Whiskey Sour is crafted with precision—both highly recommended. When it comes to the sides, the truffle chips are a must-try. Unlike many places that simply use truffle oil, Beast takes it up a notch by grating fresh truffle over the chips, giving them a wonderfully rich flavor. The main attraction here, however, is undoubtedly the steak. Beast offers a remarkable selection of dry-aged cuts, each one cooked to perfection. For wine lovers, the variety of options is impressive, with bottles that complement every dish beautifully. Service here is top-notch. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly committed to ensuring guests have the best possible experience. If you’re after a dining experience that combines exceptional food, drinks, and a welcoming yet luxurious atmosphere, Beast won’t disappoint.

Beast Restaurant truly lives up to its name! From start to finish, our experience was incredible. We started with the crab, which was absolutely amazing – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. You can tell they really know their seafood! The steak was equally impressive – juicy, tender, and full of flavor, cooked exactly to our liking. It’s clear that the kitchen staff puts a lot of care into sourcing and preparing high-quality ingredients. Beyond the food, the service was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. It really felt like they went above and beyond to make our evening special. Overall, Beast Restaurant is a gem. If you’re a fan of high-quality seafood and steak in a comfortable and classy setting, this place is a must-visit. Already looking forward to my next visit!

We were warmly welcomed, and they offered to take our coat, adding a personal touch right from the start. First, we had the fresh oysters – incredibly fresh and flavorful. Then, we enjoyed the scallop, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. For the main course, we had the Nebraskan bone-in ribeye steak, which was nothing short of amazing, juicy, and tender. The truffle chips added a delicious touch of luxury to the meal. We also ordered wild mushrooms, and they were unlike any others we've had – a delightful and unique addition. The service was exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring our evening was flawless. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I can't wait to return. Highly recommended!

Exceptional Dining Experience! The entire staff was impeccable, but special recognition goes to the sommelier, whose knowledge and attention to detail truly elevated our meal. The service was warm, professional, and refined throughout the evening. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and a must-try for anyone dining here. A seamless blend of exquisite cuisine and outstanding hospitality.

Visited for lunch and had the four-course Taste of Trishna menu. We ordered the soft shell crab, followed by paneer tikka and green pepper chicken chops, then for the main we ordered gongura lamb and cashew & pepper chicken then finally for dessert the rasmalai and semifreddo. The mains were accompanied by roast potatoes, dhal, rice and a bread basket and as a starter snack a huge basket of papadams and chutneys was brought to the table. It was an incredible amount of food showcasing all the exotic flavours of coastal Indian cuisine. Hard to choose a favourite, they were all very good! The drinks menu is extensive, I liked the spiciness of the Kulukki Fizz cocktail and the beers, brewed especially for the restaurant, pair very well with the food. Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, the meal was well paced and drink orders arrived quickly. The venue has a lovely ambience and is tastefully decorated. The lunch service attracted a diverse crowd with business lunches, friends catching up, regulars stopping by for their usual order and tourists like us wanting to sample one of London's best rated restaurants. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend it!

Pretty impressive Indian food. I think I had the best daal so far in my life at this place, very tasty and not too salty. The paneer tikka just made me love paneer cheese even more, it was definitely cooked to perfection. The soft shell crab was very fresh. The cheese ball dessert was definitely a highlight to end the lunch experienced The only did I didn’t like was the gongura lamb, a bit too flavorful / salty.

Food here is exceptional. Some of the best Indian fine dining you’ll find in London. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They will look after you, with a smile. The only let down is that the restaurant is very narrow and lacks atmosphere. We went here for our anniversary and spent £300. We were unfortunately seated next to an extremely loud table with a man who was practically shouting incessantly (though they left just after our first starter), and given the small size of the restaurant this did dampen our experience somewhat. This is outside of the staff’s control so I absolutely can’t fault the restaurant for this but if you’re looking for a more romantic ambience for a special occasion, try Chutney Mary or even Bombay Bustle. However if you’re just looking for a fantastic meal with good service, don’t hesitate to book. The food is sublime. We look forward to visiting again!

Quite possibly the best Indian meal I have ever had. When you arrive you could easily be fooled into thinking that this is just another mid-market Indian restaurant, but you would be wrong. From the moment you step inside, you are treated like royalty by the friendly, attentive and most importantly... knowledgeable staff. The food is outstanding. we opted for a tasting feast which had been specially prepared for Diwali. Every dish was beautifully presented and prepared. the use of spices was spectacular. some of the dishes (lobster and scallops) required subtle sauces and did not disappoint. This restaurant avoided the temptation to make everything "hot", opting for wonderful and varied taste instead. the wine list is expansive, and there are some very pricey options. that said there is a varied enough list to cater for almost any preference and budget. highly recommended
