Just had a wonderful meal with my team for our Christmas lunch. Loved the atmosphere, and the service from start to finish was fantastic. Our waitress Nicola was really friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back to have the profiteroles again! A**** service from Nicola, thank you so much for taking such good care of us all!

We first came here unexpectedly on an October Sunday and they fitted in our group of 8 no problem. Most of us had the roast and it was beautiful! The staff were friendly, and it encouraged us to come back in December. December: mainly had the festive menu, and it was a great experience. We had crackers, a corner table, and we had a great time. The food (all 3 courses x 8 people) was fantastic - clear plates all round. A couple of confusions over the menu/bill, but all sorted. Richardo(?) was our waiter and was very friendly, helpful and attentive at the right times. Will be visiting again.

Manjal Indian Restaurant

First Floor, Drewry House 213 Marsh Wall meridian place (south quay, dlr, London E14 9FJ, UK | Indian Restaurant
P: 020 7538 1140

Rating: 4.3 (1531) Price Level:

perfect, this atmosphere was quite load but a lovely calm place at the same time, the set up and tables along with being able to see the water from where we were seated was a lovely extra for our meal, the lights and music made the place feel classy and fancy which is a nice add to the meal. the food was delivered only 10 minutes after ordering which was amazing as me and my partner were starving, we ordered the chicken tikka along with rice and plain nann bread, the chicken tikka had a spicy kick but was overall one of the best i have ever had along with the fluffy nann bread, as we tried to order chips but they didn’t sell them the lovely waiter suggested a substitute which was amazing and i’m glad they didn’t do chips. the service overall really made the place more homely, the waiter we had spoke to us a lot and was very lively, he suggested new foods to us and was very intrested in our travels, which was a lovely conversation to have, although i have so much good to say about this place i must say it is very expensive around 70-80 which isn’t to bad to pay when the food is worth it, if your willing to pay this then decently visit this place in the london area

If you’re looking for delicious Sri Lankan and South Indian food, this is the place for you. The garlic prawns, lamb varuval and Himalayan wings are a must try for starters. And we enjoyed the mutton kottu roti, upcountry chicken curry with Malabar parathas for our mains. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable! The staff are so friendly and really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome.

The restaurant is located not far from Canary wharf. If you are having a day out around here, this is a great place for some Chinese food. There is a lunch deal on working day. For £16, you’ll have a appetiser and a main, with no service charge. I ordered a salt and pepper pork chop rice. The pop chop are fried to a perfect texture soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. They go so well with the rice. I also ordered a Vietnamese spring roll for my side. Three spring rolls in a plate. there are minced pork and dry shrimps and glass noodles in the spring roast. There is a vegetarian version of the spring roll. The restaurant is spacious and the seatings are comfortable. The staff is very helpful and they are very friendly. The decoration in the restaurant is very Chinesey, just nice ambience there. It would be even better if the portion is bigger.

The Ivy Canary Wharf

50 Canada Square Park, London E14 5FW, UK | Restaurant
P: Not available

Rating: 4.3 (2834) Price Level:

We grabbed breakfast at The Ivy in Canary Wharf, and it was such a cool spot. The place is full of greenery, almost like stepping into a tropical rainforest, but still with that classic British vibe. The decor is super vibrant and artsy—it really adds to the whole experience. I had the Eggs Benedict with hand-pulled ham, and it was spot on—the poached egg was perfectly soft, and the smoked ham had so much flavor. The hollandaise sauce pulled it all together. Their Ivy Breakfast, which is kind of their signature dish, was also super fresh and tasty. The service was really attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, The Ivy was such a great find, and I’ll definitely be going back!

We visited this spot late in the evening for a quick bottle of wine but ended up staying for another until closing time. While we didn’t try the food, the signature class of The Ivy was evident throughout. The dishes we saw being served to other patrons looked absolutely stunning. From the elegant décor to the inviting atmosphere, everything was impeccably executed. Special mention to the brilliant bartender, Pawel, whose exceptional service made our visit even more welcoming. A truly superb experience all around. Will be back.

Really enjoyable visit to The Ivy. We only booked the day before but managed to secure a table for 4 people at 6pm (times were limited). It was really packed, but not too noisy ... tables far enough apart so that people don't end up shouting ... Lovely decor, really sumptuous. And the food was excellent. Definitely high-end for the cost. Wine and cocktails reasonable, given the nature of the restaurant. A real treat.

The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and the food was absolutely excellent. Place was picked randomly and I will definitely go back! We were greeted by two very friendly ladies at the front where they offer to hold our bag and coat and seated very fast. The menu was filled with many delicious options. Our meal came real quick and our waiter was very nice. The place was super clean and has a classic British charm that one who wants local cuisine is looking for. They’re very conveniently located 3 min walk from the Canary Wharf station on the Elizabeth Line.

Salento

3 Clove Cres, London E14 2BB, UK | Italian Restaurant
P: 020 7537 2373

Rating: 4.3 (641) Price Level:

We were told about this restaurant by Carla, the receptionist at the nearby Travelodge. She said she had heard good things about it but hadn't been in herself. She was not wrong, this place is fantastic. The staff were really friendly, the menu was excellent and the atmosphere was really great with a good level of background music, people chattering and general movement. We ordered 2 starters, one was spicy prawns, and the other was avocado and feta cheese salad. This was followed by a large meaty pizza and a good size calzone pizza. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu, which was presented beautifully on the plate. It was lovely and moist, but I felt it should have had a little more of a coffee flavour to it. However, the food was excellent and add that to the staff and atmosphere, it was a lovely experience and worth every penny.

Overall, a decent stay at this place for a week. We had a few things wrong with the room we were placed in (AC broken, water smelling TERRIBLE, leaking shower, etc) and they were able to move us to a different room which was less problematic, but still problematic. I would say they need to overhaul a lot of their rooms and do more maintenance. I loved how close to the train it was. It made it SUPER convenient to get into central London. That is by far the best part about this place. Decent views as well if you're able to get a room high enough. Also, the elevators are super fast!

The Madina Grill (TMG)

263 E India Dock Rd, London E14 0EG, UK | Steak House
P: 020 7093 2525

Rating: 4 (549) Price Level:

Great restaurant with delicious food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. The chicken and meat were very juicy and tender and very flavourful. My colleague really loved the chops but I really loved the wings. Sticky wings lives up to its name. The unfortunate part is that it's ridiculously impossible to find parking as the restaurant is practically on the dual carriageway.

A random selection we decided to visit, originally was supposed to go somewhere else but they didn't take card payment so ended up here, and it was a very good decision to come here. From outside you wouldn't think there was seating downstairs and must say it was very private and comfy. They also provide segregated seating for family or husband & wife for religious reasons. The food overall was very good quality and tasty, had the TMG special biryani was cooked just right and also grilled chicken burger again on point. Price wise it's very reasonable. Only negative feedback hence why 4 stars is the biryani were very small portions, was served in a small bowl and not even a full size plate.

Underrated. We were out cold looking for food. And glad we stumbled into this restaurant. A bit far from our usual location in central however well worth it!! I first had the beef burger with turkey bacon & egg. Juicy beef patty, soo tasty with soft bun. Every single was worth it. Next was spicy lamb bryani, power kick id say.. I thought I couldn’t eat any more by then but that was good. Add on with yogurt with dhal that was served together, spot on. One of my best halal burger and bryani combo ever. Uuu also the chips with chilli corn carne like was yummy as well. Its got cheese sauce on top. Their spoces were different mild and amazing. Service was excellent too. Great experience all in all.

Update: Came here again few days ago. Got a mixed grill platter, was delicious! Shared with a friend a much needed feast after a good cycling session. Full of flavour, enjoyed the meal masha’Allah. Thank you. 🙏🏽 Atmosphere was great as always, fast and friendly service. —— Came here with a few friends, we got a variety of different things. I got the doner - was ok. The special wings was really nice, the sauce it was coated with was packed with flavour. We got a few to share amongst us. Service was great and food came out fairly quick. Good seating available downstairs.

A pretty cool spot to eat! As a Canadian, it was neat to see some North American influence in a restaurant in London. It felt like being home, except the concept of this place is quite far from where I live. We just have similar things. The food was excellent, and would definitely return for that. However, service wasn't very good. It seemed like the server was more concentrated on the tables that had people drinking a lot. We rarely had someone come to our table to ask us what we wanted, and it took almost 30 minutes after seating for someone to take our order. It was averagely busy, so I think staffing needs to be increased.

The experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The décor and first impression were great, but the service left something to be desired. When we were seated—presumably by the manager / receptionist—we were completely forgotten about. After bringing it to his attention, we received prompt service from a very attentive waitress. From that point, everything improved, and she even went the extra mile by lending me her personal power bank to charge my phone. Kudos to her, as she SINGLE-HANDEDLY salvaged this review. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name, but she looked after our table, table of two guys near the balcony/terrace access until the closing time, so you can find her if needed. On the downside, when we mentioned to another waiter that our chips were cold, he shrugged it off and told us to speak to someone else. I found this completely unacceptable—it felt like a metaphorical middle finger to the customer. Thankfully, we were in good spirits, laughed it off, and decided not to escalate. However, when the same brilliant waitress returned, she resolved the issue quickly and followed up to make sure everything was fine. Perhaps management should consider promoting her or giving her a role in staff training, as she clearly outshines others, including management, who seem to lack proper customer service skills. As for the food, it was enjoyable, and the Monday deal was great value for money.

What a lovely way to spend an evening in London! The riverside views and a warm environment are just the beginning. The bar offers a creative variety of cocktails & spirits. And the non alcoholic drinks are a healthy alternative treat. For dinner, I enjoyed a delicious Caesar Salad with very fresh lettuce & the most wonderful marinated anchovies. The Butter Chicken is tender and flavorful. And the Sticky Toffee Pudding is rich and comforting. Highly recommend!
