We have 3 children who have been enrolled at Mathnasium for over a month. When we arrived in the UK, we made the sad observation that the level of maths in France was about 4 years lower. They are in year 9, year 8 and year 5. Our children always go to school with pleasure, serenity and a desire to learn and progress. In just one month, their level has clearly improved. They feel more confident and more fluent in class. The progress is really amazing. Their skills workbook is structured to follow their path, their progress and their pace. Mathnasium is a learning centre that puts the child at the centre of their learning, makes them feel confident and builds strong skills. Mathnasium is a very serious, rigorous centre.

Our son made huge progress since joining the Wimbledon Mathnasium. Because of educational differences between the UK and Poland he was 2 years behind his classmates and it made him believing he’s not able to learn as other kids did. Joining the Mathnasium made him confident that it’s possible and it even reflects on other school subjects.

It’s wonderful to see my son happy to go and do extra maths classes outside of school. The Wimbledon team are excellent at keeping us up to speed on our son’s progress.

My French learning experience with Bonjour Academy has been fantastic. The tutor is very organised, has a plan for every class and is very knowledgeable, as well as very nice and pleasant to talk to! Each class was structured with a mix of speaking, listening, grammar and writing, which made the learning experience very complete, while never boring (learning a language should be fun!). I started from zero and in 1 year I reached a B1.2 course. Would definitely recommend this to anyone, from beginners to intermediate and advanced learners.

My son got the offer from his 1st choice super selective grammar school, I’d like to give a huge thanks to his tutor, Dan. My son was below average in writing skills, speed and vocabulary before we approached Ivy for help in the January of Yr 5. After just a few months of tutoring with Dan, I could see his rapid improvement in writing. Dan taught creative writing in a disciplined and systematic way. He knew exactly how the examiners mark the answers, and how my son could get the highest scores in the English paper. Dan also helped my son’s other areas such as written comprehensions and VR. Oh I forgot to mention he had the sample papers of our target schools! When it came to my son’s real entrance exams in September, my son was fully prepared- not only he passed the exam of our 1st choice grammar school, he also passed all other exams we applied, and got full marks in some of them!

I enjoyed my meeting with Yusuf and can see potential in our work together on my PS. My only issue is that I think he is too focused on the philosophical side of PPE as he suggested I read another philosophy book for my PS when I already mentioned one. Especially since for one university I’m applying to economics and politics (bath) as it doesn’t have PPE. So therefore, I would prefer if my PS is more well-rounded of all three subjects.

I cannot recommend Shine Tutors highly enough. My son started attending sessions with Lynnette in year 4, which ultimately helped him receive offers from both Tiffin School and Kingston Grammar School. Fantastic staff who run the Kumon classes very professionally. They really invest in the students who attend and get to to know and understand each child’s needs and it shows. Have seen excellent progress from my son in six months since we started him in Maths and English who is now more confident and happier as a result. Mrs Sheikh who runs this class always takes the time to provide feedback every week and is always on hand if we have any questions or issues... would recommend to anyone who is looking to try Kumon for their kids.

Both my daughters attend the center: My older one, now 9, started maths when she was in Year 1. Her math’s skills are excellent and she has also improved her English skills since she started English approx. 1 year back. My younger one (6 years and in Year 1) started Kumon (English) when she was in nursery because she wanted to copy her big sister. With the help of Kumon, she started to read very early and is now a very confident reader. Mrs Sheikh has been very helpful and is adjusting the work to the child’s needs. Highly recommended.

Wimbledon Kumon is excellent!!!!!! My daughter is 4 and is a summer born child we deferred her entry into reception, for a further year, as we felt she was not emotionally ready and we felt she was too young to start her academic education at this point. Our daughter does both the English and Maths programme. The owner Carmen was extremely welcoming from the start she is kind and patient and really cares about each child that comes through her door. Carmen is very attentive and firm. Carmen makes each parent and their child feel valued at the Wimbledon Centre. My daughters confidence has improved dramatically , the work books have helped her confidence,focus and motivation. She loves getting 100 per cent when she attends her weekly class and takes such pride now in writing her numbers. Kumon is repetitive and sometimes very challenging as myself and my daughter have found on our journey and yes there will be tears but do not let this put you off. The pure joy of achievement on your child's face and their motivation to have a love of learning is definitely achieved through the Kumon programmes. I found Carmen and her team to be very kind,patient and encouraging with my daughter. Carmen take individual interest in each child that attends her class and gives very through feedback. My daughter started with Carmen when she was 4 years old. Initially she only did Maths. The daily practise allowed her to improve mental arithmetic very quickly. She could confidently handle 1-9 times table and column addition /subtraction. Carmen is relaxed yet very responsible. firm yet not rigid. I am working full time and Kumon has been a trouble free experience for both me and my daughter. highly recommended.

Our child started Maths Kumon at the age of 8, over a year ago. Kumon places solid foundations/fluency in algebra at the heart of proficiency in maths. Word problems and reasoning are not covered, and extra work might be needed there. But *crucially*, learning to solve word problems becomes substantially easier: the algebraic part becomes an afterthought because children are confident they will be able to handle it, and therefore focus instead on reasoning/logic without the clutter of numbers/operations. Additionally, Kumon has a systematic and incremental approach to learning, which schools often lack. Every now and then, the difficulty in the worksheets will go up a notch, which children might feel like a set-back, but daily practice will help them realise it can be done, and hence give them a confidence that would otherwise be hard to gain at school. The linear nature of the Kumon curriculum will likely make it out of phase with the back-and-forth approach in schools, so you might not feel the effects immediately, but the benefits are clear in the mid- and long-term (we certainly started observing progress in our child's ability and confidence after a few weeks). Regarding Wimbledon's Kumon centre, we have found Carmen extremely helpful and approachable. The systematic nature of the Kumon workflow does not mean it should be the same for all children, and Carmen has been hands-on in monitoring the progress, and tailoring the upcoming worksheets for our child. Counter-intuitively, there are subtle aspects to a systematic approach to learning, and her years of experience mean she is able to pick these up. We're very happy to have tried Kumon out, and will be sticking to it for the foreseeable future.

My son has been studying with Carmen at Kumon centre and he absolutely loves it. He has improved and grown in confidence in Math during the course. My son is currently preparing for 11+ exam and he is coping very well with the level of Math required.
