We had our Christmas Do at The Golf Groove. The customer service was beyond exceptional. There was so much attention to detail. From greeting us on arrival with an envelope of organised drinks tokens as part of our package, giving training aid grips for those new to golf, the bar staff remembering orders making you feel like a true local… and just so much more. Food unreal, drinks great, golf a blast! We had a brilliant time and I’d recommend the Golf Groove to anyone!

We had an amazing experience at the Golf Groove. We eloped yesterday and were looking to have a fun memorable experience with our friends after the ceremony. I am so happy that we went with Golf Groove because it has been the absolute best day! From the moment that we enquired about it, everyone has been extremely friendly and warm and helpful. The guy with the blonde hair has been the absolute nicest. On the day, everything was organized really well, Katie was an absolute angel. She was so attentive and managed everything amazingly for us. We got 3 golf bays and tried golfing and other games. There was a very nice and friendly guide who helped us through the games. He made the experience even more fun. The food was absolutely perfect! So delicious! We got some of the sharing platters and all of them were absolutely delicious, my personal favourite was the Salt and Pepper Squid. The place is also really spacious and beautiful, it’s really cozy. But the best part of the place is the customer service; Katie and Alex are the absolute best! I did not get everyone’s name but a very special thanks to each and everyone at Golf Groove for making this day special for us. We loved it! We will definitely be coming back and recommend Golf Groove to everyone we know!

Been coming here for a while now and have been for many reasons. You're always welcomed with a friendly smile at reception and the rest of the team are just as nice! Started out with a work from clubhouse day where you get to enjoy 30 minutes in a bay, coffee, and a small plate for an extremely good price. This is something I do regularly to change up the remote working. I've been taking lessons with Dean Wingrove and these have completely changed my golf game and how I approach my swing. I'm relatively new to Golf and Dean has a fantastic way of explaining things in a way you can understand and his years of experience shine through. The Golf Groove are lucky to have a coach like him as part of their team. There are always events happening and they show the sport whenever it's on. A pretty decent drink selection and one of the better pours of Guinness in the area.

Hidden Gem In Wimbledon!!! Great Atmosphere for any occasion, a date night or day out with the family and friends. The place is super cosy and the staff as really attentive, Alexandra was extremely helpful gave us all the help when we asked. They have a weekly chef special main I would have regretted if I didn’t decide to accept Alexandra advice to try it. They also have a weekly happy hours which makes a bonus for the ones who loves cocktails/ beers like me and my friends. Great experience! Definitely will be back

Lovely golf club. The best welcome committee I have ever had as an old guy with a white beard welcomes you at the car park entrance. Did not play the course as was working but looked tricky in the high wind of the day. But greens were manicured and the re wilding of some of the fairways looks good. Club house was old worlde but well maintained. Food looked good and the small shop on site well stocked. Coffee was amazing and cakes at the halfway house recommended. The date cake was lovely.

3rd time visiting and it's always a treat. Well worth the green fees. Highlights: pure quality of greens and overall course. Lowlights: £3.15 for a sausage in a dry bun along with the bar not being open until 11am (thus no breakfast!).

Extensive and beautifully landscaped golf course that has opened its doors during lockdown to allow non-members to explore its rolling spaces. A secret oasis of green normally hidden from the public's eyes - lets hope it isn't closed off again for ever more when the lockdown ends.

Amazing value at just £20. Greens are some of the best I’ve played on in the area. Certainly the best I’ve played on at a public course!! It’s a classic golf course that will penalise bad shots. Members are among the friendliest I’ve come across.

Friendly club with a good course. Only downside is the walkers crossing the fairways.

Great course. Not as easy as the course rating states with some very tricky holes to navigate. It's not one for the driver but will test skilled irons and wedges. Well worth thr green fee and would recommend and return.

Such a fun time. Unique course worth playing for a good time. Shared with walkers, dogs and horses so need to give yourself 4-5 hrs for 18. Bring snacks and drinks for the course. Great greens, hooked balls are lost forever, played a scramble. Glad we came! No motor carts. Club and pull along carts available. Try their red top beer!

I just love this place. The team is incredible. They are kind, great at what they do and uber professional. I joined the Academy a few months ago and am enjoying every moment of the experience. The only downside is that we have to share the course with the public but the positives well make up for the negatives!

Really good golfing experience, just had to wait a short while due to not booking online beforehand. Brilliant range set up with interactive online course screens and unlimited, automatic balls. Thank you and see you again soon!

We loved our visit to this crazy golf course it was busy and took two hours to go around but despite the delays in front of us we had a great time. There is a Costa coffee onsite and a nice seating area too. We would definitely go back and like that no booking is needed you can just turn up and play.

London Scottish Golf Club

What a gem. Lovely little clubhouse with all the original oak finishings, and a recent revamp has also opened the woods-facing front to attract a bit of coffee and beer trade to earn a bit to keep prices down but really enhances the overall aspect. Mostly its an uncrowded little place where you can grab a pint or a sandwich and keep a locker. It is run on a shoestring and an amazing bargain, yet has real charm, has real antiquity (third oldest in the country) yet is entirely unpretentious. Wimbledon common is an ancient course accessed from either the London Scottish or the WimbledonCommon Club (Their tee 1 is the LSGF 10th). The course is not just parkland but serious woodland. Hit out of bounds and the ball disappears in bracken and under leaves. It is strangely quiet and peaceful, given its proximity to the A3 and Wimbledon traffic. A true haven and an interesting and challenging course with ravines to cross and narrows to manoeuvre. It is a public common however, and modern population pressures means that there are lots of dog walkers and strollers, and one has to wear a fire engine red top to warn of your presence playing. Most of the public are respectful or at least cautious, although some seem to revel in taking their own sweet time or picnic in the middle of a fairway. My first experience was a walker whose very wet dog was rolling over the 17th green causing big ruts as I aproached. The dog then ran up to snatch up my ball as I was putting and ran off with it in its teeth. The owner tossed the ball back from some distance with no apology. At least I got the chewed ball back. That was happily exceptional, most people are considerate although some seem inclined to post nasty reviews, and I am glad that did not deter me from what is a truly lovely bargain priced course. The big advantage of the London Scottish? They are backed by a large parking lot down a quiet lane which also serves the old windmill museum and a very decent snack bar, almost never a problem parking. From the “other side” seriously congested single lanes even just getting to the club house, nowhere to park and endless argie bargie when drivers don’t wish to give way. I am sure they are also lovely people at the Wimbledon Common Club, but I prefer to just park and go, besides the additional charm and welcome from the down to earth Scotts. For the price, so close to central London, London Scottish is to me as good as it gets.

You'll get over the fact you have to wear a red top after you realise the course is in the middle of a public park... Quite annoying really with so many people nonchalantly strolling across the fairway (lots of paths across the course with bikes, prams, dogs, kids etc..). Feels like they should be the ones wearing red so you know who not to hit, most don't understand fore either.. Anyway aside of from the obvious flaws, it's actually a pretty neat course.. An unusual course, short but with long par 3s, no bunkers or water. Most holes are reasonably open off the tee but with enough wood to make it not feel like a field. Would probably play again now that I know what to expect, perhaps a bit steep for £40 a round..

Amazing fun , warm and friendly members and club staff and good value. There is a very woodland feel to this course and some tight holes making this an impressive place , greens are good. Just watch out for the odd ignorant dog owner .

I had a lovely morning playing The Prince’s course this morning at Richmond Park Golf Course. The staff was very friendly and I was able to hire some clubs. The clubs were a bit old and beat up but I guess that’s to be expected with a public course. They still played fine. The course itself is beautiful with lots of birds and foxes on the course. I landed my ball on the green with a nice pitch shot and this fox darted out of the bushes and tried to steal my ball haha. It was quite comical and a unique experience. Keep an eye out for those sly foxes. Also, bring extra balls because you will lose a bunch unless you have great aim. The rough is extremely thick and dense. While I lost lots a few balls I also found a few so it evened out. Overall a fun course close to London. I’d definitely go back.

Excited about playing a course that I’ve not played in 15 years. The course layout is good, very flat and straight, however bunkers are very well placed and the fairways are mostly undulating so shot selection is key. Course is okish, could be better, however greens are true can be attacked very well. The rough needs work as when a ball lands in it it’s very tough to find them. Staff are very friendly and there is a good beer selection!

Had a lovely scramble with a good friend on this 18 hole course after hitting the driving range. I’m a complete beginner so I was happy to hit a few straight shots! Driving range is decent and has targets etc Cafe is reasonably priced and lots of seating area Recommend sun cream for hot days! The refill station at hole 9 was welcome, and the price of stuff in vending machines is cheap for chocolates etc
