Great course, facilities and clubhouse. A few challenging holes, especially visually over water. Accurate driving is paramount with the rough/fescue being fairly pronounced. Weather comes into play big time due to its location and being exposed to elements. Make sure to get a buggy as distance from green to the next tee is generally far. Definitely one to revisit. The pro shop is well stocked and the food is pretty decent.

Played on the excellent Heritage course in the Pro Am. A very challenging course with some interesting holes. The condition cannot be faulted in any way (maybe the rough a little high 😆). Lovely clubhouse and friendly staff. A great experience.

The Club on the top of the hill, has a good view, I like it! Fairways good , greens a little fast.
Rating: 4 / 5
A golf course with a tale of two halves - The first half is a short but tight track with no real stand out holes apart from maybe the 2nd which has a tight and blind tee shot. From home 9 onwards the track really comes into it's own. The fairways and greens were in great condition with only a few dry patches around some areas. I played during a twighlight time and the course was relatively quiet. Would play again.
Rating: 4 / 5
Really lovely course, well kept. Would of given 5 stars if bunkers were proper sand. Most are dirt. Very challenging course, narrow fairways. Greens are perfect. They spray them to make them look extra green. Very hilly course so you have to be fit if walking! Buggies available. Good choice of food extensive menu. Staff all round are friendly and helpful. Definitely be playing here again.

Visited as a guest at a wedding reception. What a fantastic venue! Great facilities, attentive staff and situated in an idyllic setting with great views over Epping Forest. Highly recommended.
Rating: 5 / 5
Great course, not too long and not too narrow, but still a decent challenge, especially if you don't get your drive away or if you don't know your yardages with your irons. Greens in decent shape given that we played towards the end of October after a week of rain. Good little hut serving bacon/sausage baps and hot/cold drinks. Great views of the ever growing London skyline from the holes at the highest point of the course (and the club house). Also saw a giant mushroom! 😀

High Beech Golf Course

Fantastic place to start playing golf. Relaxed and friendly. But the hidden gem is the state of the art golf studio where the local Pro Clark gives lessons using all the latest tech. I just wish I knew about this place sooner!
Rating: 5 / 5
Started playing golf in September 2022. We went to a few golf courses to begin with being new to the sport and out of the several golf courses we went to High Beech was the most welcome. To us this is the best learning course you can use. It’s not a PGA tour playing course by any stretch of the imagination but what it is is a friendly and very social club despite your abilities. The Red Course is a Pitch and Putt course it’s a fantastic why to learn how to start hitting balls and the Yellow is for the more experienced. Some of the greens are not in top top condition but it is what it is. If you can play High Beech you can play anywhere. If you’re new to the game, or just want a knock about with your mates in the summer months without any pressure from anyone else you can’t go wrong with High Beech, they even sell beer!! This is a gem of a place hidden and tucked away from public transport, so unfortunately you’ll need to drive to get there but during these summer months it’s starting to get busy so try to get there early.

Great place for beginners, and the corse is great the lady in the front desk was a great help and she was very polite definitely recomend people going
Rating: 5 / 5
As someone who is relatively new to golf, this course offered a solid choice of challenges with its two courses. The red course is the one I played first and is a perfect for all abilities. I then recently tried my hand at the yellow course which is a perfect next step on the way up to playing bigger courses. The grounds were generally well maintained. I’m not expert in groundskeeper but for the cost, it was fine. It was £9.50 for a round on the yellow and I felt that was money well spent. Good advice and information from the staff working there who are welcoming and friendly. It’s a shame they don’t do a membership as it would be something I’d be interesting in.

Come here for the breakfast. Always spot on. I always go for the jnr or snr in a pan breakfast. Love the location to. New owners but it’s the same chef so still good quality food. I did ask him to butterfly my sausage however as I like it cooked properly through which was either ignored or not noted lol @whatwehavingnow - on instagram for our full review & more vids/pics. I was travelling for a month in London, and visited this golf course. I can say that I had a super professional coach who guided me well and showed to all my mistakes. I took two lessons only due to the short time in the UK. But I’d highly recommend Ben Lawson if you are looking for the new professional coach.

I have been here a few times to play, and the course is enjoyable to play with very good greens and fairways. I found it really easy to get to and the central line train is a short walk away for people like me who do not have a vehicle. I can also highly recommend the food in the clubhouse, I loved the chicken wrap I got for lunch!

We recently held my father's Wake at Wanstead Golf Club. Bernie and Ann are so kind and really helped me with its organisation and took the stress out if it for me. People commented that the food was lovely and I am very grateful to Ann for running the catering so seamlessly. Thank you to everyone for helping Dad's Wake run so smoothly.

Friendly staff, course in decent condition considering the rain we’ve had. Full English breakfast was the best I’ve ever had. Staff very friendly.

Review of Sunday Lunch at Wanstead Golf Club I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a Sunday lunch at Wanstead Golf Club. The roast dinner featured a generous portion of meat, which was beautifully presented. While the accompanying vegetables offered a fresh touch. It was evident that they use quality ingredients. For dessert, I chose the apple crumble. It had a lovely appearance; the flavours were rich and satisfying. I appreciated the effort in presentation, and it was a nice way to end the meal. The service was friendly and accommodating. The staff made an effort to ensure we were comfortable and attended to, which added a welcoming atmosphere to our visit. Overall, my Sunday lunch at Wanstead Golf Club was a pleasant experience.

I can only really comment on the aqua drive range and staff. Gotta say though the staff are friendly and it's only a tenner for a hundred balls to whack your frustration out with. If your bored fancy something different, highly recommend popping over here and kids are welcome to. (Clubs can be hired for a mere £2)

Interesting driving range, into a lake (see picture). Well kept pay and play 9 hole, sort of heathland feel to it. Certainly worth a visit. Nice breakfasts too.
Rating: 5 / 5
Reasonably priced for golf and alcohol. Modern alcohol served with plenty of variety. Alcohol free fruit flavoured cider also available. Billiards table. Once you've let your stress out by bashing a load of balls into the lake you can have a few pints and a game... Great place, hadn't been for ten years but will becoming more regularly now

I love this place. Easy access, a turn off the A12 dual carriageway. Free parking, snacks available on site. You can book online in minutes and enjoy playing golf. Around 20 holes on the course. Lots of different types of tests to get your competitive juices flowing. Great fun for kids and adults. You will have a great time here. Lovely setting. Salim Patel

We went there with kids and adults, and we all enjoyed our time there. Parking available on site and food also.
Rating: 5 / 5
Had a really nice time with the family, took just over an hour to complete the course, it provided some light-hearted competition, lots of laughs and a couple of arguments too! Everything you expect from a family outing. My 8 year old said it was like going abroad on holiday with all the palm trees 🌴 luckily for us it was a sunny afternoon 😎 only downside was it is a bit expensive at £40 for 2 adults and 2 children 😀
Rating: 4 / 5
Great decorative fun mini golf. Could do with modifying a few of the more simple holes to make it a bit more challenging but overall decent course. Bathrooms were very dirty.

Some of the holes are little tricky but really enjoyable. Not so crowded, players are very friendly. Hole#10→11, #17→18 is hard to find. #10→11 These starting points are next to each other. #17→18 After returning to the bridge that you crossed in the middle of # 2, go straight along the road and you will find a short hole that's #18!
Rating: 4 / 5
Good course that is well maintained. The course is split up by a stream will fairly steep bank on either side. This creates a few interesting holes requiring the ball to clear the wide gap. There are a varieties of old and young trees that are pleasing to the eye. The greens are kept very well and pretty quick. To get to the course you need to cross the north circular road by a footbridge, so there is traffic noise but isn't too bad. There's good practice area including putting green, chipping area and practice nets. The green fee is normally around £20 so is pretty good for the standard of the course.
Rating: 4 / 5
Very friendly staff. I was playing solo that afternoon and one staff member walked me out after I’d said it was my first time there. Course was in good condition considering the time of year and the recent downpours. Some tricky holes and blind shots into some greens. I’ll play it again in summer! £25 for thé round which was okay value for money.
Rating: 5 / 5
The course is great and the greens are kept very well. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
