Cranham Golf Course

Rating: 4.5 (426) Price Level:
Best kept communal course I know of. Very good for beginners but with enough challenge for low handicappers, and very cheap in comparison. The 18th island hole is a great way to finish it off.
Rating: 5 / 5
Love this course. Superb condition, hazards well placed, challenging greens with good speed, very well priced. A short course that allows you to score (I mentally add 10 to my score to compare it to a “full” course, i.e 5800-6200 yards) but probably one of the best in the south Essex area. I would always choose Cranham for my rounds, with Epping and Toot Hill as other contenders. Wanstead is overpriced, Hainault is too busy and in too bad condition, Theydon Bois rarely in good condition, Woolston Manor great fun but busy. 18th signature hole is a highlight, even if they do dye the water! If there was a negative, it would be the open and tight nature of the holes means you’re often at risk from wayward shots (yours or theirs!). Overall 5/5 - hidden gem that may be too short for the longer hitters but provides great fun for the typical weekend hacker.
Rating: 4 / 5
Fantastic course, very well kept, greens were fast and true. Its quite open and not very long so will favour the beginners and high handicappers. Its well worth the green fee, i will return and i recommend you visit for a pleasant round.
Rating: 5 / 5
Not the most challenging course out there, but exceptionally well maintained and great drainage - an excellent winter course and great for high handicappers looking for some practice.
Rating: 5 / 5
I played at Cranham Golf Course for the first time this week and I was very impressed. This is a beautifully designed course offering plenty of challenges in the way of water hazards, fairway and greenside bunkers, dog legs and two-tiered greens. You cannot fault the course conditions. The tee boxes are in great condition. The fairways were well cut and the rough is fairly light, with barely any deep rough. The greens are fast and beautifully kept. On the final hole you are met with a challenging but beautiful par 3 with an island green. The course offers 7 par 3s, 9 par 4s, and 2 par 5s. The course would be good for high handicappers, but also enjoyable for all levels. I will definitely be back for more golf at Cranham ⛳

Great course, not too long and not too narrow, but still a decent challenge, especially if you don't get your drive away or if you don't know your yardages with your irons. Greens in decent shape given that we played towards the end of October after a week of rain. Good little hut serving bacon/sausage baps and hot/cold drinks. Great views of the ever growing London skyline from the holes at the highest point of the course (and the club house). Also saw a giant mushroom! 😀

Visited as a guest at a wedding reception. What a fantastic venue! Great facilities, attentive staff and situated in an idyllic setting with great views over Epping Forest. Highly recommended.
Rating: 5 / 5
The Club on the top of the hill, has a good view, I like it! Fairways good , greens a little fast.
Rating: 4 / 5
Really lovely course, well kept. Would of given 5 stars if bunkers were proper sand. Most are dirt. Very challenging course, narrow fairways. Greens are perfect. They spray them to make them look extra green. Very hilly course so you have to be fit if walking! Buggies available. Good choice of food extensive menu. Staff all round are friendly and helpful. Definitely be playing here again.

A golf course with a tale of two halves - The first half is a short but tight track with no real stand out holes apart from maybe the 2nd which has a tight and blind tee shot. From home 9 onwards the track really comes into it's own. The fairways and greens were in great condition with only a few dry patches around some areas. I played during a twighlight time and the course was relatively quiet. Would play again.

I love playing upminster it's a really friendly atmosphere. It's not overly long, but some of the greens could test the patience of a saint. You need to play the course a few times to know how to play the course. The course was in good condition considering the amount of rain previously. The old world clubhouse is a throwback, and the bar staff were lovely and friendly. Would recommend the club . Never give any club 5 stars.
Rating: 4 / 5
Lovely old course with a lot of class . The course design is exemplary in such a small land space , which takes nothing away from the enjoyment . Very well kept and manicured with greens like carpet . The clubhouse is a touch snobby but still a good drink can be had

Went for "Fish Friday " in the restaurant which was gorgeous and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend for member with guests.
Rating: 4 / 5
Nice traditional club, good food and good practice facilities. Plenty of money has been spent on the course with new drainage and tee areas in several places. Little water but plenty of bunkers. Excellent greens, especially with the recent weather. Only lost a star for the fact that a few fairways were rippled like an off road car test track, which made for uncomfortable walking in some places.
Rating: 4 / 5
Challenging, hilly course with a few holes crossing over themselves. Lovely staff and friendly atmosphere, with good food and a decent pint after a round. Close to the station for those not driving is a bonus.

The setting is beautiful. Large grounds, big enough that the car park was mostly full but still only saw about 3 people! quiet, peaceful, plenty of parking. Breakfast was great. Only downside was that the rooms were a bit dated. Well quite a bit dated. They were clean and comfortable but could definitely do with some upgrading. Would also be handy to have a water fountain or vending machine in the lobby where the rooms are as we stayed there after a wedding and everyone was quite dehydrated and there was no where to get water that late.

3, 9 holes. Good condition. Clubhouse has been upgraded furniture etc. Mice patio and balcony. Big upstairs function room with bar. Golf Professional excellent. All staff v friendly and food is very good.
Rating: 4 / 5
Had not played here in a few years and it didn't let me down. Fairways were in great condition and it's a beautiful course with some testing holes but also very playable as a higher handicap golfer. Bad weather meant green were pretty soft and they had just been aerated so we a bit bobbly but still played very well. Will definitely be back with my mate for another round

Excellent food and atmosphere. We came for the Whitney night and it was brilliant. The only thing was that the drink were extremely expensive, and there were only one or two cocktails available due to a delivery - which is understandable out of their control. Would come again!

My second stay within 3 weeks, as always the restaurant is the best part, complements to the Chef who thinks he is Gordon Ramsay in more ways than one! Very disappointed no Crème Brûlée even though it appears on the menu apparently the menu changes to a Summer one but if its on the menu it should be available much like the the Pineapple Pastry with Malibu! I did stay in a much better room this time with 2 single beds. Nice place to stay if you are playing golf, single beds mainly geared for the Golfer who is obsessed with Golf, for me a bit basic, cold shower in the evening became all of the hot water was used up and no WiFi in the rooms. I must say the food and service in the restaurant was second to none a good varied menu Gordon Ramsay would be proud of! The service is very friendly and helpful. A nice family run hotel etc l can't say anything about the golf as l do not play it.

I would just like to thank Top Meadow for hosting my mums wake yesterday in there downstairs room. Despite not as many people in attendance as anticipated, the staff on duty were very professional and attentive. The room looked great and the food provided was of a high standard.

Went to venue for afternoon tea. When we entered the place was full and the hustle and bustle was slightly overwhelming but once seated the atmosphere became quite fabulous. The service from the staff was extremely impressive. Attentive but not intrusive. Efficient and friendly made the experience exceptional for the very reasonable price. Afternoon tea was impressive with four rather large different filling packed finger sandwiches, 3 plates of finger pastries and cakes, a large hot fruit scone with loads of jam and clotted cream mmm. The Tea and coffee was also unlimited and regularly refilled. The other meals that were being served around us looked really delicious and I am looking forward to trying some on return visits. In fact was so good I have booked tea again for my birthday with friends.

My new wife and I were married at Stock Brook Manor last weekend. We would like to say a huge thank you to absolutely everyone on site. Tina, Paul, Vicky, Anita, as well as all the staff involved on the actual wedding day itself. This includes breakfast staff, golf bar, cleaners, golf buggy/minibus drivers. Everyone went over and above for us. We had the wedding day of our dreams, a weekend to remember and a day that we will never forget. What a truly beautiful venue!!! Thanks again, Amy and Sam Newman x

My cousin Dwayne married his long time girlfriend Polly this afternoon. It’s the first time visiting this venue and I must say it was very grand. As you enter the venue, the landscape and grounds offers loads of space and it’s fairly set back from the main road. I can imagine summer time photos are awesome. The interior of the venue was also stunning and the food and drinks was good too. Desert and appetiser was the favourite part of the three course meal.
Rating: 4 / 5
A lovely venue in a gorgeous setting. Attended a wedding party here. Catering was excellent but this was an external party. There are many facilities within this site including golf, putting green, swimming pool, various courts, gym and much more that I did not see. Site was well maintained and looked pristine when I was there

We booked Bridgeton afternoon tea a long while ago, 2 of us eat gluten free.... disappointed with the cake choices... definitely think they could have done better...staff really friendly if somewhat new... definitely the poor boy who dropped cutlery down my back, so apologetic and very nervous... Hope he survives...

Some of the meals our fantastic chef Charlie has put out this Christmas is second to none! It's our busiest one yet and still she pulls it out of the bag!! The feedback we are recieving is amazing. Well done Charlie!

An absolutely fantastic golf club! Played in a large society today and the manager and his team were amazing! The course is so unique and very well kept. True links experience but inland. Greens and bunkers are designed so well and this course is fair but challenging! The clubhouse is fabulous and the food and service does not disappoint! Will definitely go back and take friends there!
Rating: 5 / 5
We decided to play Ingrebourne Links after watching some golf social media influencers who are members there and the footage of the course always looked fantastic, we were not disappointed. It’s a very modern golf club, very nice club house which towers above the course. There was a starter on the first who enthusiastically gave us the history of the profession of the course to date and also future plans. The condition of the fairways was amazing, you could easily be forgiven for comparing them to some of the best links in the country. I think Ingrebourne will soon be elevated to better rankings as more people discover this cracking inland links and rightly so.

We booked Ingrebourne Links Golf & Country Club on 9th December 2024 for a Wake. We were not disappointed. The venue was fantastic and the room was arranged perfectly. A beautiful place to go for any event. The staff were great, very efficient and helpful and the buffy was very nice and plenty of it. I can't say enough about the event manager Sian, such a lovely lady. She was amazing and nothing was a problem she made a very sad day turn into a nice evening by going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.

We had our wedding right in the heat of the pandemic and had fears that the day would not be what we wanted it to be. Things just kept getting more difficult, restrictions increased and worries were growing. However, Katie and her team at Maylands absolutely blew us away with much support and regular assurance. They took care of everything from start to finish. We ended up having a wedding reception for 15, as well as a Zoom broadcast for a portion of the day and it was absolutely perfect. The decorations done by Katie exceeded our vision, the food was great and Katie coordinated the whole day flawlessly. Many thanks to Maylands for making our day extra special!

Great golfclub and venue for weddings. Only golfclub I know to have deers around you all the time. Plenty of parking, great restaurant and their Sunday dinner was ace. Compliments to the chef, their apple crumble was one of the best I ve tasted! On some member Sundays they've even got live music. Thumbs up will return.

Warley Park Golf Club is a fantastic venue for any event you wish to have hosted here. Samantha and her team will ensure that you and your guests will have a fantastic day and will ensure the run up to your event will go smoothly. Myself and my partner recently had our wedding reception here and we were vindicated in our decision to have it here. From the moment we spoke to Samantha about our plans I knew I wanted the reception to be here. Had we not already paid another venue for the ceremony we would have had the whole day here. The venue is picturesque with some lovely spots for photos. Samantha has come to Warley Park and really made the venue and her vision her own. Do not hesitate to have any event here. Samantha and her team will ensure that your day whatever the occasion goes the way you envisioned it to.

A fantastic evening, great service, great food and a lovely location. Samantha and team were fantastic from start to finish, allowing us to pick a bespoke menu and decorate the room for my Dad’s 80. Huge thanks and highly recommend.

We had our UK evening wedding reception at Warley Park 12th August 2023. We previously looked at this venue online and one afternoon was passing by so stopped by to get some information. This happened to be an open day showcasing their wedding facilities/packages. We were greeted by Samantha the events manager who was able to fit us in for a last minute appointment. Samantha talked us through their packages and one of the many things we found appealing was the flexibilty on what they could provide. The grounds and venue are stunning the view from the terrace is beautiful. The venue had undergone a modern refurbishment a few years prior and Samantha spoke extensively abouth this. We could see how passionate Samantha was about the venue and her clients. Communication throughout was good and nothing was ever a problem. On the evening Jess was our coordinator, we had a telephone meeting prior to the date and run through everything we had discussed with Samantha and finalise the itinerary for the event. The Warley park team set up our decorations exactly as we wanted and the room looked beautiful. The TV monitors in the venue are a great touch, we loved sharing our Wedding photos and videos from Greece for all our friends and family to see. We booked the resident DJ Mark, through the venue. Again communication was good, we sent over our playlists. On the evening Mark was brilliant, really got the parted started! He interacted with the children and even made some balloon art which was a great surprise! Song requests from guests were run by us and Mark checked in with us throughout the evening to make sure everything was ok. Definately recommend using their resident DJ. For our evening food we had a BBQ buffet, the food was delicious. Great range to chose from and were able to cater for all dietary requirements. On the evening Jess was amazing, checking that everything was running smootly. The whole team were very welcoming and could not do enough for us. The evening was perfect and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Thanks again Terry & Lizzie

Nice course but lacking. Challenging enough for the casual golfer, but very hilly with a lot of blind drives. For a first timer around Warley, what is frustrating is the lack of course information available. I don't think I've ever played a course with no visible 150 markers. There's no hole layout on the score card or on the hole boards so you are mostly shooting blind. Not very helpful! On a very hot day, it was a nice welcome for refreshments around the course, and the girl (didn't catch her name) was very pleasant and good to chat too. The rough isn't too rough but I the course was overdue a cut. Even the fairways were a bit long. Greens were nice and fast. It's a shame no one replaced divots as they go around. A fair few bunkers were missing sand. £35 is a bit steep and I won't be rushing back. They say they are looking to invest in the course so I may revisit after but for the price, I've played far better in Essex for the price. Personal opinion, it's more of a £25 a round course.

Lots of different types of tests to get your competitive juices flowing. Great fun for kids and adults. You will have a great time here. Lovely setting. Salim Patel

Great decorative fun mini golf. Could do with modifying a few of the more simple holes to make it a bit more challenging but overall decent course. Bathrooms were very dirty.
Rating: 5 / 5
Had a really nice time with the family, took just over an hour to complete the course, it provided some light-hearted competition, lots of laughs and a couple of arguments too! Everything you expect from a family outing. My 8 year old said it was like going abroad on holiday with all the palm trees 🌴 luckily for us it was a sunny afternoon 😎 only downside was it is a bit expensive at £40 for 2 adults and 2 children 😀

We went there with kids and adults, and we all enjoyed our time there. Parking available on site and food also.
