Elizabeth (Lizzy) has been a wonderful support for our son who was really struggling in a traditional school setting. His confidence was low and desire to learn was adversely affected. Lizzy has brought him out of his shell, she is instantly engaging and has made learning fun and rewarding. He looks forward to his sessions always and his teachers have seen such an improvement in his reading, writing and general ability to focus. After being advised by a local primary school teacher in the North West of the UK, I contacted Owl Tutors for their services for my daughter as she had secondary school examinations. From the offset, it was clear that each of our goals were in synergy as they dealt with Gabrielle as an individual with her specific needs. They quickly matched her up with a tutor who, in a short period of time got my daughter up to the required standard to pass all 3 of her examinations. Natalie has been a brilliant maths tutor to our daughter over this academic year. Natalie has a very calm, warm manner and takes time to plan engaging and well-paced lessons. Natalie took time to set manageable homework tasks and gave helpful feedback on my daughter’s progress and areas to focus on. My daughter never complained about logging in to online lessons with Natalie and definitely benefitted from Natalie’s patience and interactive ideas. Natalie’s experience as a class teacher meant that I was confident that the lessons were focussed on the curriculum yet adapted to an appropriate level. I would definitely recommend Natalie!

William is always well prepared and enthusiastic - Jack actually looks forward to his sessions. He communicates well and is very flexible regarding changes to times. He is also very adaptable regarding topics to target and will change at short notice when we need to concentrate on a particular area. We were so pleased with William that we switch to him for English as well as Criminology so we have the continuity of just having one tutor. Of course the final proof of his worth will be in the exam results but at this stage regarding preparing for them, we highly recommend William

I have been a tutor at Tavistock for almost a year now and they are by FAR the best agency I have worked with! Their tutors are excellent, and their treatment of tutors is even better. They provide regular clients whose needs are perfectly aligned to the tutor's skills, making the process as simple as signing up! Luke is an Excellent tutor, he will not waste your time. Luke will ask you what your struggling to understand and will go over it in a common sense approach that you will UNDERSTAND! He is very patient and more importantly knows his subject matter throughly. He will ensure you understand before moving on to the next topic. I’ve had 3 hours tutoring so far and understood the concepts that I was struggling with. I wish I found him a lot sooner - it would have saved me hours of reading from books. I completed the Essay Crash Course during the summer before my final year at university. I hugely benefited from the process as I learned skills to finally understand what a university essay demands in order to achieve a first. This course closed the huge gap in teaching how to write a university level essay. I now feel equipped to complete my final year and hope to increase my marks from a 2:1 to a first as a result of the valuable tools learned during the course. My matched tutor was really helpful and gave in-depth explanations to give me confidence in the new method of writing, something I did not learn at university. During the course I worked on an example question from one of my university papers with my tutor which was a hugely valuable exercise. I now have a worked example alongside the explanations given during the sessions which I will use throughout my final year. I will now implement what I have learned from this course and make significant changes to my work which I hope will be the difference between a 2:1 and first class degree.

I looked for an essay writing summer tutor for my children as I feel the English system does not focus on teaching children how to present analytical thinking in written form but rather mainly on content. It seems to be assumed that the children will find their way to writing good essays (and clearly many do). However, coming from the American system, in which the process of HOW to write a good essay is taught almost as a standalone subject, I felt that my children would be best served going into a writing task with the strongest possible toolset so that the ideas and ultimately what to write would become their only challenge. How to write would be second nature. I contacted Tania at Uber Tutors after a lot of research and, via her incredibly personalised interview approach, she matched a fantastic tutor with my children. Over the course of the summer, they learned how to structure, present and write an argument. They also learned how to incorporate evidence, be it literary, historical or data driven. Not only do they now approach every school essay confidently (dare I say enthusiastically?) but their teachers have mentioned their writing skills to me across the curriculum. I cannot thank Tania and Uber Tutors enough.

I have consistently used Uber Tutors for my child since year 5, elevating their potential at different stages of their State and Comprehensive schooling. Qasid began tutoring our Year 11 son in the first term of Year 11 after our son reached out for further Maths GCSE help. We explained to Qasid that our son had had an incomplete period of Maths teaching from Year 9- Year 11 and needed help filling in gaps and improving the knowledge he did have. Qasid is helping my son with his maths A’ level. My son started his studies late, in November of the first year of his A’levels after switching subjects. I needed an excellent tutor to get my son up to speed with the missed months of study. Beyond this, my son has ADHD and, as a consequence, finds concentrating and organising himself difficult. Qasid has engaged with my son brilliantly from the outset. Fizzing with enthusiasm and giving plenty of encouragement as well as challenge, my son really enjoys his lessons with Qasid and they seem to laugh a lot which I hear from a distance. Qasid works very hard to structure lessons in line with my son’s syllabus and in line with my son’s energy and concentration which fluctuates from day to day. My son really enjoying his maths studies and being taught by Qasid has had a big impact on his self-esteem. Qasid is an excellent technical teacher and also has highly developed inter personal skills. I can highly recommend him.

I would recommend Kath's classes 100% having had 4 very different children attend them. The Wandsworth test can be a very scary process for a 10 year old and she is so kind and patient. The focus is on each child doing the best they are able to and she always includes an element of fun. My children have all really enjoyed the classes and have always been very happy to go which is quite unusual for what is an extra hour of 'learning'.
