My two granddaughters aged 8 and 11 have been studying English and Maths at Kumon Centre in Methodist Church in Chelsfield for several years. This Centre provides excellent opportunities for children and supports them to overcome the challenges in their educational journey. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. Our girls are happy to come for their Saturday sessions. They are achieving good results and noticibly stand out among their peers. We recommend this Centre and their program to children of all age groups.

My daughter struggled with maths and English throughout her school years. After the pandemic, I was so worried about the impact of lockdown and home schooling and Kumon was the best decision we could have made. The Chelsfield Kumon centre helped her to get back on track and now she has exceeded her expected academic level. The staff are all passionate about my child’s development and celebrate her achievements, which motivates her to complete the work. They are all very helpful and if she is struggling with new topics, they take the time out to explain. We can clearly see the difference that Kumon has made to her speed and confidence when completing school work, exams and answering questions in class. I highly recommend the Chelsfield Kumon centre.

My son who is 5 years old enjoys going here on a weekly basis. he was initially at the Bromley practice and has recently moved to the branch in Petts Wood - closer to home. My son attended Bromley and Petts Wood office regularly in the run up to the exams. Practice and mock tests were tailored to my son’s needs. It helped to identify the gaps, refine the exam techniques and get familiarised with the exam environment. Face to face exercise is great in this sense. He has achieved 414 out of 423 in Kent test. Abi tutored my daughter who needed to build her confidence with schoolwork, particularly English which she found challenging. Abi skillfully mixed things my daughter could do / enjoyed with learning the trickier elements in each session to build both her ability and her confidence. When it came to SATS my daughter breezed through the exam week, she felt totally at ease with the papers and ended up doing really well (with the third highest grade in English across the school). I attended a SEND sensory session at the Homegrown Learning Hub 2 days ago. I wondered if it would be too young for my son but there were a range of activities to choose from. The outdoor space with tuff tray activities were fab. My son loved a lot of the Halloween decorations. The staff were available to help and support engagement in activities. The only thing to be mindful of if you have kids who like putting things in their mouth, is they have small stones in the outside area. Hoping to return for the Christmas session.

Messy Play Session Review I recently attended a messy play session and felt compelled to share how wonderful our experience was! As a mum of two, having recently welcomed a new baby, I was searching for a place where I could take my toddler and feel supported – and this was absolutely perfect. The ladies running the session are incredibly kind and caring. They not only created a warm and welcoming environment but were also so supportive. They were happy to engage with my toddler, and even offered to help with my baby, which made the whole experience stress-free and enjoyable. The activities on offer were fantastic! My little boy particularly loved having a go at an experiment. The variety of activities ensured there was something for every child to enjoy, all in a safe and well-thought-out space. Thank you so much for being so caring and providing such a lovely space for parents and children. We will definitely be coming back!

My 2.5 year old daughter absolutely loves coming here! We have attended many pre school classes and also some special themed events. My daughter has had a wonderful time at the summer camps this month. She came out of the first one so happy and she is usually very shy and reserved about starting new clubs or joining new groups. She referred to the teachers as 'the lovely, nice ladies', which was lovely to hear and very reassuring for me. My daughter is SEN and has a very complex, rare, medical condition. The teachers arranged a call with me, prior to my daughter attending, and also allowed her to visit the space, before her start day, to ease her anxiety and get her familiar with where she would be going. I am thrilled with the Homegrown Learning Hub. They have been brilliant! Also, the range of activities my daughter has been doing has been excellent! THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND!

I found the Online learning portal an excellent way for my son work on the gaps in his knowledge and for him to work towards the 11+ last year. The video explanations were comprehensive and easy to follow no matter the subject he chose. Riley could work at his own pace and loved the independent learning.
