We were a group of ladies from Bristol who stayed over for the night after going to ABBA voyage. Found this restaurant on google. Well what a find absolutely amazing food good service staff couldn’t been more friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend xx we were served by Suri but all staff were amazing

Cafe Brunch in Wanstead is a cozy and welcoming spot, known for its hearty full English breakfasts and accommodating service. The ambiance is warm, and the food is consistently praised for its quality and generous portions. However, I strongly suggest you double-check your order and confirm it with the staff—there have been mix-ups, and you might end up being served something different from what you requested. While the staff is friendly and eager to make things right, attention to detail could improve the overall experience. That said, the reasonable prices and good food still make it worth a visit! I especially didn’t like being directed to a smaller table.

I was craving for some jacket potato and this cafe was nearby at Wanstead High Street. Clean and spacious cafe with lots of regulars hanging out there. Amazing service where staffs were friendly and welcoming. Jacket potato was delicious and really had fantastic experience here. Would come back in near future for other dishes.

Dama de Elche

A good local restaurant, lovely atmosphere, especially after a few glasses of Spanish wine. Clean and well decorated space. The staff seem rather stern at times. Good selection of food, nice menu...but unfortunately cooked for an English palette (which is a shame). Amazing almond tart 😋 highly recommend this with a glass of wine or two 😂

Dama de Elche is a fantastic neighborhood gem. It's not on the high road, which means that most people (even locals) don't know about it. We really love this tapas restaurant and have been coming here for some time. It's a family run business, the atmosphere and the welcome you get makes you feel like you're in Spain. We always get the chicken livers and octopus, they are both must have dishes when we're here. Our 3 year old loves the Spanish omelette, he finished it all by himself today and declared it 'yummy' with every bite. The price is very reasonable for tapas in London. We had 6 dishes, bread, olives, two glasses of Rioja and an OJ for a reasonably priced £70 (including service). If you are planning to come here on a Friday or Saturday evening, then best to book ahead as they're usually fully booked and you'll be disappointed if you tried to just turn up. If you're in the mood for some authentic tapas if you're living in the area or just visiting, then drop by and treat yourself to some fantastic home cooked tapas in a wonderful atmosphere.

This is the best cafe in London. Amazing food. Amazing coffee and amazing friendly staff. The Turkish eggs and Nonna’s baked eggs are to die for. Treat yourself to a Parmesan hash brown as well you won’t regret it.

This is a lovely place to go for brunch, the small selection of food is varied enough and would suit most diets; with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options available and the friendly staff happy to accommodate any allergies or intolerances. It's a great place to go for a treat yourself meal as it's a bit dearer than we expected but well worth it. Loved the pistachio iced latte and vegan wrap, we had the optional fried egg which really added a lot to the dish as they were exceptional eggs. It's dog friendly with outdoor seating and beautiful decor. We will certainly be returning to the popular destination.

Bacon and mushroom naan, amazing. I really enjoyed this wrap and I would definitely order it again. The coffee is ok. Dog friendly.

Liiiisssssten, this cafe right here is a must try. If you are OK with nuts, go for the pistachio latte. I had it with oat milk 😋. We ordered the bacon and egg with mushroom wrap...absolutely succulent. The sausages are tasty too. They also do vegan breakfast.

Very cosy, welcoming and homely. independent run authentic Italian restaurant. Best Italian food I have had for a while that’s not home made or overpriced. Food is fresh and good quality with of course the chefs being fantastic and working hard. Fair wine selection. Such a friendly bunch of people would definitely go again and recommend 🇮🇹

Quality food and generous size. I had cod in white wine tomato sauce with potato. The cod was devine. Fresh, quality fish, cooked just right. The sauce was delicious. My husband had sirloin steak. He was not totally happy as he said it had charcoal taste due to it being grilled. Not to his taste but someone else might like it. The restaurant was happy to offer a pan fried replacement. Thank you. Service was friendly and quick. We will surely come back.

Stumbled upon this local gem after a walk in Wanstead Park. Plenty of tables outside for a nice spring evening dinner. Friendly service, generous portions and food was delicious. The Bruschetta was so fresh, I could have ordered more! My Linguine Marinara with white sauce was great with a huge serving of mussels! Oh and the baked cheesecake was the perfect way to end our meal!

Really good pub in Wanstead! Come here for lunch on a Saturday and will repeat. Dog and baby friendly too - baby changing facilities also staff was very attentive/friendly with our son. A nice outdoor area to the rear which is covered to keep cosy and a BBQ spot in the summer. Food was surprisingly good.

Superb neighbourhood pub in Wanstead backstreet. Attractive “gastropub” interior; charming sheltered beer garden. Lunch for two with drinks came in under £40 and the food was sensational - the birria beef shin toastie among the tastiest things I’ve ever eaten.

Really enjoyed the Christmas special menu at Dukes. Fantastic food, great flavour combinations and a lovely team who did a brilliant job even though an incredibly busy pre-Christmas Friday night. Well done to the kitchen team especially for such amazing food, thank you.

Your time at the pub sounds unforgettable! Stepping into that bustling venue, brimming with the vibrant energy of laughter and animated conversations, has the power to transform a simple outing into something truly remarkable. It's heartwarming to hear that you not only enjoyed yourself but also became fully immersed in the lively atmosphere that enveloped you. I can vividly picture the scene: laughter bubbling through the air like a joyful symphony, mingling with the enthusiastic cheers and playful shouts of camaraderie. These sounds reverberated off the pub's rustic wooden walls, which were adorned with a rich collection of memorabilia that told stories of nights past. Perhaps the walls featured framed photos of legendary bands that had played there or quirky signs that added character to the space. In the background, upbeat music—likely a lively mix of classic hits and contemporary favorites—pulsed through the venue, creating an electrifying ambiance that drew everyone together in a shared celebration of life. Engaging in spirited conversations with friends and fellow patrons must have added layers to your experience, fostering a profound sense of community. That feeling of connection can make the space feel even cozier and more inviting, almost like a second home where strangers become friends over shared laughter. It's fantastic to know that you savored every moment, from the cheerful clinking of glasses filled with frothy pints to the animated banter floating around you like a warm embrace. Each sound—a hearty laugh shared over a funny story, a friendly toast that echoed good cheer, or the playful ribbing between friends—contributed to an intricate tapestry of joy and excitement. The way these moments intertwined created a lively atmosphere that made it hard to leave; the energy, the warmth, the excitement—they all wrapped around you like a comforting blanket. Those moments, rich with connection and shared joy, often transform into cherished memories that linger long after the last call. The experience you had is the kind of outing that stays with you for years, leaving you not just with smiles but with delightful stories to recount and share with others. You’ve added another beautiful chapter to the book of your life, one that will surely be reflected upon with great fondness in times to come!

Cavernous Spoons in a nice old building, sadly soon to close I hear. Decent choice of ales, but not all on great form. Full of old people pushing peas around the plate. Meh!

Came here for weekday afternoon lunch and service was quick over here. Enjoyed the hot pita with the sauce accompanied by. The chilli sauce was some kick and goes well with the bread. Loving the lamb sheesh too very juicy and tender taste to it. Overall, quite satisfied and happy with this.

Booked a large family group for drinks and then Sunday lunch and couldn’t be happier with the service, communication and quality of food. Communication and booking procedure before the event really good and far superior to some other local alternatives. Staff were superb throughout our time and really accommodating of our group having small children. Really glad we chose the Cuckfield for this event and would wholeheartedly recommend for similar family events.

Food was okay. But what really made my experience great was the extremely attentive service from the staff - especially Rosie who served our table. Great to talk to, very friendly and helpful with suggestions on food and drink, seemed like she really knew the menu. We will definitely be paying another visit.

Despite a previous less-than-ideal experience, Lizi and the team's handling of the situation and invitation prompted me to return. We came back for the second time for Sunday lunch and between the three of us shared the prawns and calamari for starters (both good) and the pork belly roast (pork belly was cooked perfectly and was tasty but the sides still fell slightly short), hake (good) and sirloin (cooked to medium rare with a delicious accompanying sauce) for mains and the apple berry crumble (very enjoyable) for dessert. The service was helpful and friendly (they didn't know we were back for the second time). ---- Initial review dated Nov 2023 This was probably the worst Sunday roast I've had in London. I got the beef and it came out cold and overcooked, so I sent it back. It came back out just being heated in the microwave - I would have expected them to replace the meal. The beef was now even more tough and chewy. The potatoes were not crispy but soggy, the other vegetables like the parsnip and carrots were undercooked and the gravy was so tasteless and runny. My other friends got the pork belly and said the meat was ok but again, the sides were all soggy and gross. We had to constantly flag staff to get attention to serve us and it was just mediocre all round.
