This is a great place. We went on a friday evening and the restaurant was empty ( very surprising). The place and furniture was also cosy and comfortable. It was also warm inside( we went on a winter night) . The service was great and the waiter paid attention to requests, clarifying any hiccups. She also updated us on progress of our food. The food itself was good. I got the ribs with coleslaw and topped with some fries. Very delicious. I also had a steak salad. Steak was too good but greens were a bit dry. I had a safe sex mocktail which tasted amazingggg. It was made from fresh fruits as I could taste the richness in the orange flavour. Very lovely place and affordable too. Would recommend to visit if in Leyton area

My 'Spicy Spin' tagliatelle meal was exquisite. It contained prawns, basil, tomatoes, chillies and olive oil. Such simple ingredients, but it was just exceptional. It's a light, bright interior with greenery, sadly fake, but pretty nonetheless. The service was good and the waiting staff were smiley, attentive and professional. My chosen dish took a bit longer than normal to arrive, but as it's all made fresh then that's all fine with me. I had Tres Leche cake for dessert and a hot chocolate. All faultlessly delicious. I was treating myself after a health check appointment. I'll go again soon.

Wanted to visit this cafe for some time and finally got round to it this week. You instantly feel welcome. We had a pram, they accomodated us moving chairs, so as we could feel comfortable. It is family run and such a lovely bunch of people😊Warm, chatty and actually took the time to show interest in us too. The coffee was great and the white chocolate traybake was amazing!! Really wish them well..they deserve it so much. We will definitely be back Thank you😊

Newly-opened upmarket cafe/coffee shop in Wanstead. Decor is very nice and bright with comfy seats, ideal for brunch/lunch. Staff were exceptionally friendly. We enjoyed the designer all-day breakfast with a glass of delicious freshly-squeezed orange juice. Expensive but worth it. Toilets available. No parking. Recommended as a solid addition to the Wanstead luncheon portfolio. Prefer to Bare Brew.

The Lane

82 Nightingale Ln, London E11 2EZ, UK | Restaurant
P: 020 8989 1500

Rating: 4.5 (162) Price Level:

We tried The Lanes Tuesday Buffet Night at £16.50 per head. The food was excellent and we were able to choose from a restricted menu, still with plenty of choice. I don't think they should call it a "buffet" as you have visions of everyone eating from the same table, whereas each meal was cooked individually. Worth giving it a try.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend who lives locally and has been visiting for the last 4 years. The food was delicious and service was equally as good. Also, I have to say it was good value for money, compared to many other restaurants. Friendly and accommodating staff let us customise dishes to our preference, without any issues. It was a traditional Indian restaurant that was well air conditioned for a warm summer evening. Not the biggest restaurant, but spacious enough for the group of 4 of us. Great option if you fancy an Indian in Woodford.

Such a lovely restaurant with fantastic food!! We had a wonderful evening with our daughter! We were surprised how delicious the food was actually much better than the fancy Italian restaurant we go to in London! Everything was perfect from starter, main, desserts and kids menu!! Went there for my lunch break, so I spoke to the waitress as I had limited time. The service was very quick and the food too! Plus, I took 3 courses set on the menu, bruschetta with roasted peppers and mozzarella, maccheroncini with mushrooms and sausages sausages, and to finish Tiramisu, which is it a good value compared to the quality of the food.

Bare Brew

Rating: 4.6 (392) Price Level:

This is a lovely place to go for brunch, the small selection of food is varied enough and would suit most diets; with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options available and the friendly staff happy to accommodate any allergies or intolerances. It's a great place to go for a treat yourself meal as it's a bit dearer than we expected but well worth it. Loved the pistachio iced latte and vegan wrap, we had the optional fried egg which really added a lot to the dish as they were exceptional eggs. It's dog friendly with outdoor seating and beautiful decor. We will certainly be returning to the popular destination.

A very enjoyable experience. For a local restaurant, this is probably as good as it gets. The arancini was delicious and the steak was slightly overcooked and lacked a little flavour but still very good quality. Definitely deserving of the Michelin Guide mention and would certainly visit again.

Short notice Thursday booking. 3 course dinner for one. Shared the starter and desert. Chicken main was second meal. 500ml of the Malbec. Recommended, and hoping to return to try more of the menu. Tall waiter was very knowledgeable of ingredients of our dishes.

Definitely worth the visit for lunch, fantastic selection of French cuisine. Every dish I tried had an air of quality and flavours were superb. I tried the gazpacho soup as a starter which was a great balance of spice and tomato flavour. Also tried the lamb and rabbit both melt in mouth good especially the rabbit. Topped off with a creme brulee which was as good as I have tasted. Service was good, welcoming and helpful whilst efficient a very relaxing visit.

My friends live locally and we had discussed eating here as it's their favorite local restaurant. Despite my friends booking a different place due to miscommunication the lovely maitre D managed to set up a large table for our group and everyone arrived albeit a little late. Service was friendly and efficient, the menu had so much variety that even the fussy eaters were happy and the actual dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. Really happy with the wine selection too.

Dama de Elche

7 Cambridge Park, London E11 2PU, UK | Spanish Restaurant
P: 020 8518 8111

Rating: 4.6 (413) Price Level:

Dama de Elche is a fantastic neighborhood gem. It's not on the high road, which means that most people (even locals) don't know about it. We really love this tapas restaurant and have been coming here for some time. It's a family run business, the atmosphere and the welcome you get makes you feel like you're in Spain. We always get the chicken livers and octopus, they are both must have dishes when we're here. Our 3 year old loves the Spanish omelette, he finished it all by himself today and declared it 'yummy' with every bite. The price is very reasonable for tapas in London. We had 6 dishes, bread, olives, two glasses of Rioja and an OJ for a reasonably priced £70 (including service). If you are planning to come here on a Friday or Saturday evening, then best to book ahead as they're usually fully booked and you'll be disappointed if you tried to just turn up. If you're in the mood for some authentic tapas if you're living in the area or just visiting, then drop by and treat yourself to some fantastic home cooked tapas in a wonderful atmosphere.

A good local restaurant, lovely atmosphere, especially after a few glasses of Spanish wine. Clean and well decorated space. The staff seem rather stern at times. Good selection of food, nice menu...but unfortunately cooked for an English palette (which is a shame). Amazing almond tart 😋 highly recommend this with a glass of wine or two 😂

We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant yesterday. We tried the soup of the day (a delicious lentil soup), octopus (I ordered it as a hot starter, and my husband chose the main course option), mussels, chicken burger, and chicken skewer. Every dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The octopus was a special highlight. We couldn’t help but remember a past holiday where my husband had the best octopus of his life. When we shared this story with our server, Cengo, he smiled and assured us, “You’re about to have the second-best experience!” My husband agreed, placing this octopus as a close second to his favorite and very similar in taste and quality—a delightful surprise. The kids were thrilled with the free scoop of ice cream included in their meal, and they were absolutely delighted with their treat! We had the pleasure of being served by Cengo, who was incredibly kind and attentive, as was his colleague (though we didn’t catch her name). The atmosphere was relaxed, with soft lighting that created a calm and cozy ambiance, perfect for enjoying a meal. To finish the meal, they surprised us with Turkish delight and generously offered an extra drink on the house, which we kindly declined but truly appreciated the gesture. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we’re looking forward to coming back! ;-)

Made a lottery pick of a choice after a short walk in the nearby Chalet Woods and was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Food, Service, Ambience, full marks. I love ottos but there is no gravy to help the food go down. It’s cooked beautifully but it’s so dry . I had the mixed grill it was washed down by mint tea but it was not enough . Everyone enjoyed the meal except me. Please make a gravy to hep those who do not like very dry food. This is a positive comment but help us .please buy some gluten free beer.

The real Turkish experience. I know it well because my wife is Turkish and I have been in Istanbul many times. We were served by Rafi, super attentive. Always paying attention to our needs. Food was great. I am not going to lie, the prices I saw at the menu weren’t cheap but with the inflation hitting us I am not sure anymore. What I can say is that I am used to go to a Turkish restaurant (the top ones are in Green Lane, near Turnpike Lane) and a nice grilled Seabream (my favourite fish) is between £15-17. Here the Seabass was £21. Again, not sure the current prices around yet. We arrived at 15:30 for a lunch and luckily we were just on time for the lunch set menu. It was fantastic! Check the pics of every single plate and the bill for prices! Same menu for evening is £5 more. Fair enough… Food was really good but more importantly, how freshly prepared all the chopped vegetables were. The restaurant atmosphere was outstanding. Super clean and welcoming. Same with toilets. Definitely we’ll come back again for the “a la carte” menu and review it again for Those high prices I saw. At the end we met the owner, Erol, yes like Errol Flint!. Such a great person and superb profesional. Old style welcoming, service and attention that nowadays looks totally gone. Desserts were good enough (not mind blowing) Lunch/ dinner set menu? Totally heads up!! You won’t be disappointed!

We were in London late in the evening and we found this small place. My girlfriend and her cousine had a Vegan dish with rice. I always go for Chiken Bryani, in this case I have noticed there were spinach and potato on the ingridients, so I choosed the Lamb option. It was so delicious…one of the best I ever had, it came with tarka dhal on side. I would really reccomend, the staff is very welcome and always trying to make you feel confortable. The flavours were authentic and i would definitely recommend. I certainly will be returning very good value for money.
