Amazing experience at Elis. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The quality of the food was exceptional, and you can tell everything is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The courgette & goat cheese dish was my personal favourite. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy, perfect for a meal out with friends or family. Highly recommend 5*
Service was very good. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Food Bread basket: foccaccia was a bit too oily for my taste, but overall not bad. Courgette and cheese: very tasty. Definetely recommend. Chicken and okra skewer: a bit tasteless. We regretted ordering that. Duck taco: tiny and with no seasoning/flavour. Maybe the pineapple was supposed to give it some flavour but it wasn't sweet enough. That was very dissapointing. Seafood pasta: it was great! Extremely tasty and lovely sauce. Sirloin steak: very good. Casava fries: excellent! Tomato salad: refreshing side. Balsamic ice cream with figs: weird Wine: I had the riesling. It was a bit dissapointing. Overall we had a nice evening. It was not da terra but a good addition to the Bethnal Green food scene.
Great restaurant located on the first floor of a hotel. The building was really nice inside and the restaurant had a lovely vibe. I got the house white wine which was lightly sparkling and delicious. The food was fantastic as well. We especially loved the bread and the butternut squash. Prices were very reasonable and the food arrived pretty fast (but not too fast). Would definitely recommend for a nice dinner out.
Underrated hidden gem in a Bethnal Green hotel. I went there with my husband on 12 June to celebrate Brazilian Valentine’s Day. We’ve already been to Da Terra, the two Michelin-starred restaurant downstairs, owned by the same chef. Elis is a casual approach to Da Terra’s fine dining, but with the same high quality standards. It seems the menu changes regularly, but go for the monkfish if you can. It was definitely the tenderest monkfish I’ve ever had. The fried cassavas were a highlight as well. I often think restaurants, including those in Brazil itself, don’t make good cassava. In my opinion, it has to be crispiest as possible on the outside while the inside just melts in your mouth. Elis got it right! Finally, prices were okay. I personally found it fair priced for the quality of ingredients, cooking and service we got. Plus: it’s a beautiful restaurant located in a incredible building. I will definitely be back!
Cozy and gorgeous restaurant with great food and service. We were 3 people and had several starters and 2 mains. The taco was so good which was recommended by the server and the prawn pasta and sirloin steak with truffle were amazing. It’s a great place for a special day and also for a nice night out. I want to highlight that the server Chloe was giving us an impeccable service:) She was warm and polite, also recommendation for our order was so clear and appropriate. She made our experience more comfortable and memorable. I would definitely visit again.
