Have eaten here several times in the last few weeks withy partner, their mother, and my friends visiting from Germany and we all agree this is the best restaurant in Hornchurch! And better still it's only a short walk from our favourite pub!

Amazing food, beautiful setting and attentive staff and servers! Must go if you’re in the area! Evening meals are fantastic, Sunday lunches are spectacular…better than at home ( and that says it all!) photos from recent evening meal!

We booked Stay for their amazing express lunch menu. Priced at only £24 for two courses (£30 for three) this represented great value in this newly opened restaurant. I chose the king prawn cocktail for the starter and the battered cod with home fried chips for main. Both were amazing, with huge portion sizes. The prawn cocktail tasted absolutely delicious and there was plenty of it - great value for the price! My partner chose the butternut squash soup and loved it. Her main dish of baked cauliflower was so tasty, plenty of it and with a lovely accompaniment of crushed potatoes and chimmichuri. Service was excellent and very attentive. Great ambience with upmarket decor and top notch furnishings. We loved it and will definitely visit again. We wish this new independent restaurant the very best and hope it becomes well established during 2024

TLDR; best food in the area, don’t hesitate to visit! We visited to stay a few months back when they had the previous chef and frankly I had very few positive things to say. However, against all odds and with a new chef I can honestly say this is one of the best restaurants in the area for miles. We’ve been in for the lunch menu where we had a wonderful, no nonsense, steak frites, and today the Sunday roast. The starters and small plates are excellent & reasonably priced. The roast however… is to die for. It’s absolutely up there with the best of London restaurants, everything cooked to perfection, and made with genuine care. The specials and deserts are also really creative and mouth-wateringly good. I cannot recommend coming here enough. If you’ve been before and wasn’t overly impressed, try again because the food is now very special. The service has also improved considerably. These are the sort of places we need to support.

We just had a rather fantastic experience at Stay. It was the first time that we have visited the restaurant and we were very impressed; great decor and ambience, very professional, warm welcoming and attentive staff (Dacia in particular sung out, brilliant service). A great menu, clearly very well thought out and executed and a brilliant wine list to boot. Food itself was very well presented and all courses absolutely delicious, a slightly higher price bracket than most but in our opinion justified and worth every penny. We will be back!
