The Best Restaurants in Mitcham, Greater London, United Kingdom (2025)

This restaurant does Chinese food and Malaysian food. We tried various different dishes to takeaway. We went to collect the food as soon as they opened for dinner service (they close between lunch and dinner). As it had just opened at 5pm there was no one dining. Can imagine when eating in the atmosphere would be ok. The char kway teow was nice. The salt and pepper squid is a normal go to for us at most Chinese restaurants, so of course we tried it here. The salt and pepper aubergine was a good veggie alternative to the squid. The salted egg yolk chicken wings were okay. People seemed to prefer the pork fried garlic rib. We also tried the chicken and salted fish, braised aubergine with tofu, crispy aromatic duck and Hakka style braised pork belly with preserved vegetable. It's a bit of a gem and taste of home in the area. Maybe we should go to try their dim sum (eating in) one day. We did think the laksa would also be better onsite. Absolutely delicious food! The staff is super friendly and the environment spotlessly clean. Best authentic Cantonese restaurant in South London, if not the whole of London. Brings back many good memories. The amount of effort the chef has put into the food is hugely appreciated. Will definitely come back again and again. Looking forward to the next visit already! Update: came back a second time and didn’t disappoint at all. This is officially my favourite Cantonese restaurant in the UK.

Finding authentic Chinese food is incredibly difficult. This is a wonderful restaurant, friendly staff and a chef that is incredibly talented. We loved our meal, highlights the aubergine, lobster and octopus. I will be dreaming about this meal for a good while. Superb, so if your in the area this has to be a stop

HakkaMoon, delicious with many options to choose from! 😋 The staff said that the pepper pork belly soup that usually requires reservations is available today, great, let's try it, one portion is already a large bowl, even two people can share. Black bean paste fried beef is the most popular among us, the other dishes are also very good, with large portions, 5 people ate very full and couldn't finish all. #KissKidsFamily

This review is months overdue, but I had an excellent time at Streatham Kitchen. I ordered their bavette steak medium and it was absolutely exquisite. Cooked exactly as I requested and the meat was perfectly tender and intensely flavourful. It came with fries & corn which I thoroughly enjoyed, and I finished off the meal with their excellent brownie & ice cream. Highly recommend a visit to this great restaurant!

Food was good , well marinated octopus, prawn dish was really nice , meat was ok , not amazing but good enough. The main problem was the service , I mean those young guys probably doing their best but the service was poor unfortunately. My wife call the waiter 3 times for cutlery and he didn’t hear us I guess then I have increase my voice to call him which was a bit unpleasant.

From the starters to the main course it was all cook to perfection. A must for steak lovers. The meat platter was great value for money and the service was just as good. A hidden gem 💎

Had the most delicious meal at Chillin 876! The food is incredible, delicious flavours, fresh ingredients and tastes like a home cooked meal!! Very reasonably price, the portions are generous and the atmosphere is wicked - with a stunning decor to match! We were served by Tameica who was so lovely and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for her! Enjoyed chatting about bringing her vision of a restaurant to life. If you want delicious, home cooked style Caribbean food then this is the place for you!

I went for the curry goat with rice and coleslaw also a dumpling was absolutely amazing very fresh would definitely recommend to anyone

This is the best food I have tasted in a long time. Curry goat 10/10. Oxtail falling off the bones a 10. Ackee and salt fish is the bomb and I am here eating the read peas soup and it reminds me of my grandma’s cooking in jamaica

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food and service were both top-notch. Special shoutout to Hetal for providing such friendly and attentive service. The kebab roll and meat samosas were absolutely delicious—packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

This was my second visit & again I was not disappointed. There's a good selection of vegetarian & meat dishes, & the veg samosas are delicious. The service was friendly & professional & we were even given a complimentary desert. This takeaway is a great asset to Mitcham Town Centre & we would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

I always buy from Dawat Express in Mitcham!! Flavour is exceptional and food is perfectly seasoned. The standout for me is the friendly service. Staff is attentive which makes the experience enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Nice steak and seafood, dessert wasn't my thing as it was too sweet, the owner was friendly, just the location wasn't easy to go to and toilet was inconvenient as it's outside, not sure will be going back again.

Dry-aged steak done right. We should all give more credit to independent, family-run restaurants like this. I can see the passion in every single detail. I’d much rather support them every week being far more affordable than central London prices, with much better quality than be treated like just a number by big corporations. I’m with you, Pirates. Been searching for a decent local steak spot for a while and this is by far the best steak in the area. Very friendly welcoming staff. Will definitely be returning hopefully sooner rather than later! Perfectly cooked steak, delicious coleslaw and cream spinach! Just wish I had known about this hidden gem years ago!

My first experience of Taiwanese cuisine! Food was good everything I tried was delicious - chicken, squid and cocktails were good too. Service was excellent not sure how this little gem in Tooting hasn't come to my attention until now!!!

Away from the bustling streets of central London (or at least this is how it felt for the tourist I am), Daddy Bao offers an ambiance that feels both intimate and welcoming. The food was great with so many various flavors each time. I like how it is made to share with one another. We had the chance to try the festive menu and it did not disappoint so hurry, before the end of the holidays. Daddy Bao is worth the short journey. I highly recommend and no doubt I will be back next time we visit London

Me and my partner had a wonderful time here today. Hayley made us feel very welcomed and made sure the food didn’t contain any trace of sesame, as I’m allergic to it. Thanks Hayley, for making our evening even more special.

We had an absolutely lovely evening with our friends at Miller&Carter in Mitcham. Food was amazing, our steak was cooked on point, sides were plenty and the wine was delicious. Can highly recommend this Steakhouse. We'll be coming back...

My son has been asking me to take him for a steak for a few days now. Today I decided to spend some quality bonding time with him. Miller and carter was the obvious choice for us as we are big fans of the food and service. The service from Joanne was second to none and the food was lovely. Would highly recommend. 5 star

We went to the 5 courses with wine tasting in December. Not only was it very reasonably priced (£42 pp), the food was delicious and the wine pairings were exceptional. Rory who hosted the wine tasting was very knowledgeable, interesting and generous with his wine top-ups! We would love to come back and do this again, the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere, great for couples or groups. Thanks!

Sunday 19th January travelled from Yorkshire Family party - Had the full roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding Sunday lunch and sticky toffee pudding! The Sunday lunch was one of the best I’ve ever tasted! Tender beef all the trimmings and gravy were extremely tasty Would highly recommend this beautiful little diamond Ricks

What a wonderful hidden gem in Tooting! The menu was delightful, the food was delicious (and very well-priced) and it was nice and cozy. We felt like we’d stumbled on the best kept secret of restaurants in London. We can’t wait to go back! Loved it.

Fantastic cooking, wonderful atmosphere and attentive, friendly service. Ricks is a Tooting institution, and deservedly so- it’s a local eatery that never disappoints. My partner and I have been going to Ricks regularly since we moved here four years ago and it’s one of our absolute favourites. We've always enjoyed delicious, local produce, top notch cooking, a really warm welcome and lovely service from Rick and his team. Whether it’s steak night on Tuesday, Sunday Roast at the weekend or the brilliant, 3 course prix fixe (incredible value) you can always guarantee that the meat and the veggies will be cooked to perfection. Lovely cocktails, delicious desserts, a great (reasonably priced) wine list and a spot on playlist (jazzy laid back vibes) combine to make this one of the best restaurants in Tooting. Highly recommended!

Local gem. Quality service and ingredients to make interesting dishes. I loved the summer Asian flavoured cod with hispi cabbage. New turnips dish is not my favourite. Wine pairing is excellent.

Fabulous evening My sons 21st….he wanted a small family affair with nice food and I found Smoke & Salt. We had the loveliest night. Started with drinks in Tooting Market and wandered along to the restaurant. Had the 7 course menu. Every course was excellent. Not one dish disappointed. We loved everything. We are a family that loves to try new tastes and dishes but this was excellent. Sometimes with taster menu it can be tiny but the food came in abundance and such excellent quality and amazing tastes. The staff were attentive and had great sense humour but didn’t impose. Just right. Could not recommend highly enough. Will be back when the new menu is out and would tell anyone in the Tooting area or visiting to give this restaurant a visit. If anyone has done menu at Six at Nico……this is how it should be done….how it should taste, how it should look Well done Smoke & Salt you smashed it 😁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🥂🍾

Both times I've been here have been wonderful experiences. The tasting menu is amazing; the chefs use really fresh ingredients, and each dish is beautifully crafted. The cocktails are fantastic, and the service is exceptional. I'd 100% recommend this place, especially for a special occasion.

The seven-course menu was enjoyable overall – the food was well thought out and the presentation was excellent. Service was top-notch, with staff attentive and professional throughout. While the food was good, it didn’t entirely blow me away, and the price felt a bit on the higher side for what was offered. Still, it’s worth a visit for the experience and attention to detail in both the atmosphere and service.

First time visit, family meal, Warm welcome with a professional service from the host and hostess. The cooks cooked excellent starters and main meals. The atmosphere is how I like it! I would recommend going with no hesitation! Great food, great potion sizes!

Me and my husband have been wanting to try Ceylins restaurant since it opened and finally did tonight. We were certainly not disappointed. First of all the service was amazing, very polite host and welcoming, friendly family atmosphere. Then the starters were very tasty and fresh, followed by very tasty, not dry meat and finished with a lovely sweet dessert. The food was delicious and generous portion size. We will definitely be coming back again. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Went here for a Fiona Moon karaoke evening on Thursday, was great. Had a very tasty houmous with Turkish bread. Very reasonable prices. Lovely Staff.
