First time we went to Watandar Really fantastic food. We had yogurt and shallot dip (this was tart and amazing) humus and hallomi salad for starters with their amazing home made out of the tandoori bread. Thin and crispy. Then fantastic lamb and chicken mains. Meat was succulent and in truth we probably didn’t need the starters. The chili sauce was epic! Lovely service - minor point it could have been quicker but great addition to the high street.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Every bite blew me away with the depth of flavour. It is all perfectly cooked. If you have never tried Iranian or Afghan food before you are in for a treat. Friendly and quick service, amazing value too - huge portions and good price. I don’t know why this place isn’t more busy - it’s one of the best restaurants in the area and we are so lucky to have this place local. Must recommend!!!!

One of the best authentic Kabuli Pilao ive had from Afghan cuisine, it offered a variety of dishes rich and fresh flavors of Afghanistan. The service was very prompt and professional really enjoyed our family meal.

Amazing Afghan restaurant. This is a very very decent restaurant where you get good homely freshly made food in a large portion for very reasonable price. Watandar is a good place to go for sharing meals as platters are very big. The lamb shank pilau is super tasty. The bread is soo yummy and they bake it for each order. The lentil yoghurty wrap was okay but I didn’t love it. The curry and rice was nice. I prefer the chicken karahi over the other one. Lamb shank pilau definitely the best. I’ve had their kebabs as well which are decent. The service is super friendly and welcoming, very chatty and informative owner. Definitely recommend for a taste of afghani food and hospitality.

I am a meat lover .I can recommend this restaurant with my eyes close to anyone who loves tasty and healthy meat dishes .it's not just about the taste but also about the quality. This restaurant is not just clean and beautiful but they are best in town .Now they started the traditional afghani style seating as well .if you ever feel like you are fed up with all that spicy food and want to try the real taste of meat try this place .you won't regret it .I can promise you that.their karahi and pulao are the best and don't forget their deserts and of course the tea is amazing.
