“We booked a buffet lunch for my daughter's 30th birthday party yesterday and were delighted with the lovely space we were given - the tables were thoughtfully laid out to allow us to mingle, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating, and completely attentive throughout. The food was delicious - we ordered a mixture of boards, and everyone commented on how tasty it all was. We progressed later on to the bar which had a vibrant lively vibe - my daughter really enjoyed her special day, and the event was extremely good value. We would definitely recommend this as a party venue, and judging by the quality of the food, as a great place to eat out. Many thanks to the Tulse Hill Hotel staff for your hospitality !”

“I really enjoyed eating here this afternoon! The brown rice and tuna salad was yummy, the passion fruit smoothie was a good portion and tasty and I also enjoyed the Cotoletta chicken sandwich! There was a good amount of breaded chicken in there, perfect amount of cheese and tomato and to address previous comments, the lettuce was indeed brown, but that's just because it's fresh out of the owen (it was toasted with the sandwich!). Service is nice and quick!”

“Really traditonal and fascinating hotel, very comfortable. Unfortunately, we didn't stay long because it was fully booked the days after and our flight was late. Reception has been great, as much as assistance when we had to communicate our delay. A special mention for the breakfast: the chef is really great and cooked one of the best breakfasts we've ever had.”

“🚇 Tulse Hill 🍺 £6.25 Amstel The Railway Tavern is located at the southern end of Tulse Hill in South London. The nearest station is Tulse Hill mainline which is just opposite the pub. This Victorian pub was built in 1881 and is surprisingly large given the small frontage. The decor here is contemporary with bold dark colours, conventional furniture and vibrant artworks and prints. The pub is divided in to three areas with the main bar and servery located at the front. At the back of the main bar is a two tiered section which has a pool table, an open kitchen and table football. At the rear of the pub is a huge beer garden with cosy huts, plenty of seating and a table tennis table. The beer selection was all keg, with a familiar line up mainstream brands and local London brews to choose from. I decided on an Amstel, my pint was great, price point was just above average. The food menu is 12” New York style pizza, prices range from £8 to £14. I arrived just before 6pm on a warm Saturday afternoon in September. The pub was especially busy in the beer garden which was absolutely packed. There were a fair few in to watch the Palace V Man Utd game which was showing on the many screens dotted around the pub. The atmosphere throughout was superb, there was a lovely local feel with a broad section of punters in from all walks of life. The service was on point, the team were welcoming and friendly. Visiting @therailwaytulsehill was a most enjoyable experience, although this is a big boozer, it retains a local pub feel. I loved the decor, loved the vibe, the beer garden is a big bonus and there is plenty to keep you entertained. “Very nice place for food and drinks. The drinks are very nice. Food was great, large portion, juicy fried chicken, loved the pickles with it. I love the gravy, so delicious. Service was friendly and on top of it too. I have to deduct a star for price as it is quite expensive for fried chicken and chips, and also the lighting in there is way too dark for me. If you’re out drinking at a night music event sure, but during the day please make it a bit brighter in there. I found the darkness and dark booth decor to be a little oppressive.”

“Came here for a drink during the afternoon, I KNOW I didn't go during the evening or when a band was playing but chatting to other people there I've heard it gets very busy and packed. The lady behind the bar was brilliant, friendly, helpful and informative. The venue is very cool. Great choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Really liked the place and would go again, especially if they've got live music.”
