Kesar Punjabi Restaurant - Charlton
192 Woolwich Rd, London SE7 7RA, UK | Restaurant P: 020 7018 0230
Rating: 4.5 (436) Price Level:
I ordered the large mixed girl, chicken curry, chicken Karahi and the chow bhature for pickup. The staff I talked to on the phone was wonderful and helpful! Honestly this is by far the best Indian takeaway food I have had. Everything is perfectly spiced and tastes amazing! I would 100% recommend this place!
Rating: 5 / 5
Having tried punjabi food at over 50 places in the UK, Kesar comes in my top 3 now. The taste is highly authentic and very close to what you get in North India. We ordered Karahi chicken (on our server’s request(Abhishek)- who was wonderful btw), naan/tandori roti and chole bhature and absolutely LOVED everything. It’s a restaurant I’d come to even if I live far far away because of the taste. Not to mention- their portion size is very generous relatively. Must try if you are wanting to try authentic Pubjabi/north Indian cuisine.

Delicious and very tasty food. Aloo paratha, butter chicken and dal makhani worth a try. Would surely recommend everyone who wants to try Indian food.
Rating: 5 / 5
The food is soooo delicious!!! We had the Saag, which was creamy and had such good flavour! We also had the Kadahi, which was fantastic! Perfect spiciness. And the rice and garlic naan were super as well. If we let bed in the area we’d be getting take out all the time! Just FYI there is a 10% service charge added when we got our bill.

So, I had a takeout. Hence the atmosphere is one cause obviously I want to post an authentic review. So, I ordered the samosa, boondi raita, dal makhani and tandoori roti. I would say overall, great food. The only thing is I felt there was less salt but I see that as a good thing because I’d rather have a restaurant put less/no salt in my food than overdo it. The samosa was piping hot which was THE BEST!

Sky Garden
1, Sky Garden Walk, City of London, London EC3M 8AF, UK | N/A P: 0333 772 0020
Rating: 4.6 (65551) Price Level:
Sky Garden is an absolute gem in the heart of London! From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with spectacular views of the city, making it a perfect spot for photography or just soaking in the skyline. The lush greenery adds a tranquil vibe, creating a relaxing contrast to the urban surroundings. The seating areas are comfortable, and it never feels overcrowded. The bar serves refreshing drinks, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Whether you’re visiting for the views, the atmosphere, or just a peaceful break, the Sky Garden is a must-see.
Rating: 4 / 5
Amazing 360 view of London. It’s in 35th floor with viewing platform and green space. Tickets are mandatory to enter. Free tickets are also available in online for a certain time slot and date. Waiting time, including bag check is around 10 to 15 minutes. There are plenty of spaces, chairs and tables, coffee shops, and 2 restaurants in the upper floor. Well worth a visit.
Rating: 5 / 5
What an exceptional surprise to find that a rooftop of this caliber offers free access! Kudos to everyone who made this possible. The process of acquiring the free tickets was seamless, and the entry experience was well-organized, with the right level of security and efficient queue management. Once inside, we were greeted by a stunning and spectacular garden in the clouds—truly a sight to behold. What impressed me even more was the pricing at the bar. You’d expect sky-high prices or to be bombarded with overpriced souvenirs, but that wasn’t the case at all. The bar had accessible, reasonably priced options that made it easy to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views. A must-visit destination in London, and one I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience.
Rating: 5 / 5
I wasn’t able to book in advance tickets for the Sky Garden, but this place is so pretty that we had to try to go up anyways. The staff was super kind telling us they were going to decide in a little bit if they could let people with no reservation get inside. We waited around 10’, then they let us at 11am. The place is amazing. Very worth the visit and getting coffee/drinks with one of the priceless views on London. It’s very clean, organized and calm.

It's awesome how a normal looking building can give such an absolutely beautiful view of the city, and thames. We missed the London eye as it got closed for 2 weeks for repair. But this place I think beats the view. Nice, tiny coffee shop and bar at the top also adds to the charm

Rating: 4.4 (127) Price Level:
Came across this place by absolute chance and decided to pop in and check it out. What a find! The restaurant was pretty busy as it was a Monday night and they were doing their special deal, we were lucky to get a table for 3 without reservation. The food was absolutely outstanding! Great value, but definitely no compromise on the quality! The service was perfect and we had such a lovely time there! We are now intending to make it our monthly family curry night venue! Highly recommend!

The Pilot, Greenwich
68 River Way, London SE10 0BE, UK | Hotel P: 020 8858 5910
Rating: 4.4 (2143) Price Level:
First class hotel and bar. For the cost it was impeccable. Decor was amazing, on trend and stylish. All the staff we met were super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast with all the best quality ingredients and very varied menu catering for all taste requirements even those with man buns and wokery needs. Coffee pods in room and fresh milk. Bathroom was excellent showering experience too. Only a ten minute stroll to the Clipper ferry and Jubilee line and a few minutes to the bus stop. Top drawer.
Rating: 4 / 5
exceptional food and ambience and generally great service (though we've had some duds) but pricey with ~15% service charge. only reason for not giving it full 5 stars. Sunday veg roast is the best I've ever had, generous portion too.
Rating: 5 / 5
Me and my wife stayed in this hotel after booking to see The Overtones at the o2 at the weekend. We had to say that the decor was on point. staff were super friendly. We had breakfast as part of our stay as food was really nice. If anyone is going to The o2 for an event night this is a place to stay as it was only a 10 min walk. We will 100% come back again.
Rating: 5 / 5
Great stay at the Pilot. Good staff and great location for the O2. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Just no lift so stairs and if you struggle with mobility might want to consider that, but a really good stay otherwise .
Rating: 5 / 5
Fantastic location for attending a concert at the O2! 10 minutes from the O2 and the underground. Easy pre-check in, swift service at reception. The pub/hotel is over 200 years old and has plenty of character. Nice bar area with great nooks for enjoying a drink or meal. The rooms are fully equipped with everything I needed for my overnight stay. Nice toiletries, lovely selection of tea and coffees. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast was made to order and was delicious. I've already booked to stay again for my next event at the O2. The staff are friendly and helpful and I look forward to returning.

The Sail Loft, Greenwich
11 Victoria Parade, London SE10 9FR, UK | Pub P: 020 8222 9310
Rating: 4.2 (2301) Price Level:
We visited for lunch on the day of the Euro finals. The Sail Loft was busy, but we got a great seat outside with a view of the Thames. Lovely on a warm summer day. Food was good pub grub. Partner had fish and chips and I had the Sunday Roast pork. The wine list was good too. Service was brilliant though. We didn't have anywhere booked to watch the football and the waitress who served us went above and beyond to get us somewhere to sit where we could see the TV and enjoy the atmosphere. We had a great time. Highly recommend The Sail Loft for anyone visiting Greenwich.
Rating: 4 / 5
Great location with views across the Thames to the Isle of Dogs. Plenty of accessible outside seating (where we sat) and the interior looks lovely too. Only had drinks so can't comment on the food beyond what we saw... But it looked fantastic with generous portions.
Rating: 4 / 5
The food was really good; we ordered oan fried duck breast and miso marinated sea bass for main and some flatbread with dips for starter. The portions were more than enough. Staff friendly but very busy so long wait to order, pay etc. Lovely Thames views; the place was very busy and loud on Tuesday evening as they had a quiz night so we really struggle to hear one another. It'd be great for non-quiz participants be seated in a separate area. We had a good time but it could be better, next time we visit on non-quiz night to avoid hurting our ears🤣.

The team were really great, so friendly! The restaurant was really nice and clean, the food came altogether and was cooked really well - absolutely loved it.
Rating: 5 / 5
Really good food and service from the lovely staff members. Considering it was Saturday lunchtime, the restaurant was not busy at all. Highly recommend for a nice quiet lunch 👍🏼
Rating: 5 / 5
First time at Charlton Frankie and Benny’s and our waitress made our visit so enjoyable, she was so friendly and the biggest smile on her face the whole time! Quick and efficient service which didn’t take away from the tasty food we had! Roxana was one of the most amazing warm staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and because of the food and her my best friend and I will be back!!! Go check em out and if you have the pleasure of being served by Roxana you’ll not be disappointed ☺️

The day we went, they only had 2 members of staff. The lady and the bar man did the best they could, with serving and making sure everyone was okay. The food was good and so were the drinks. Hats off to the waitress and bar man for managing by themselves. My mum loved the hot chocolate, and I love how they have milk alternatives. Mocktails nice too.
Rating: 5 / 5
Live quite local so always a good place to go during the day for lunch for us. Good food, friendly staff. Always very accommodating of space needed for our pram for our baby. Decor inside is quite dated but that’s the same with all the restaurants in the chain. Varied menu. Good value breakfast and made very fresh

Gaucho at The O2
Peninsula Square, London SE10 0DX, UK | Steak House P: 020 8858 7711
Rating: 4.3 (1349) Price Level:
Visited Gaucho at The O2 for the experience as much as the food, and it delivered on both counts. The perfect starters of bread and Burrata salad were enjoyed. The 300g Ancho Ribeye was delicious, and the sides—mustard onions, Koffman chips, mac and cheese—complemented the meal perfectly. Paired with the Pot Vina Patricia, it was a treat. The cheesecake also lived up to the recommendation. Even the Eira Still water was outstanding. Service is generally good, but it can feel a bit casual at times, with a touch of awkwardness when reminding you about the time limit on your table. A bit more polish, maybe a script, in that area would go a long way. For atmosphere, the internal section of the restaurant has more energy, but sitting by the window overlooking The O2 gave us a quieter, more relaxed vibe. In short: the food never disappoints, but there’s room for improvement in service delivery, especially when it comes served on the bill at 13%.
Rating: 4 / 5
I booked in advance for the Sunday roast but was told the day before my booking that the roast won’t be available. Once arriving in the restaurant the staff told me that they don’t serve Sunday roast on event days aka when there’s event at the o2 arena. I think that should be noted on the website. Other than that the service was excellent! Staff are well manned and pleasant. My friend enjoyed the wagyu burger and steak was pleasing. Not much of steak fan but I had good meal
Rating: 5 / 5
Popped in before a show and we were very hungry, being a steak lover and having gone to gauchos in Leicester Square decided to try this one out. The restaurant was fairly empty but it was early in the day so we were seated very quickly. The atmosphere was really nice and the decor in the restaurant was really good. I found the staff to be very friendly and attentive and the service was exceptional as well. The food itself was great. The steak was really juicy and tasty as were the accompanying sources. My wife opted for the aubergine as she’s not a massive meat lover and she really found it to be tasty as well, sides were decent, I have had better but they complimented the mains very well. The one critique I will have is on the two persons table. The chair is pretty uncomfortable. I had to sit on the sofa next to my wife after I ate. All in all I had a great experience.
Rating: 5 / 5
Had dinner with work and the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. Definitely would recommend to try as they have a good options on food and drinks. Can not fault as all the staff and waiter was fantastic checking in how we are with the drinks and food to see if anything else we want or he could recommend. Keep on smiling and continue your excellent service Juan.

I loved it!! I didn’t really enjoy the pasta as much as I thought I would BUT I’m not a cheese person so that’s probably why. It was my friend’s birthday and she got a cheesecake 🥹

The Royal Standard
44 Vanbrugh Park, Greater, Blackheath, London SE3 7JQ, UK | Pub P: 020 8858 1533
Rating: 4.4 (1338) Price Level:
🚇 Westcombe Park 🍺 £5.95 Pravha The Royal Standard is located close to Blackheath Common and Greenwich Park. The nearest station is Westcombe Park mainline, it’s a ten minute walk to get here. This imposing oxblood tiled Blackheath boozer was built in 1855. Since May 2015, this pub became part of Mitchell & Butlers “Castle” pub chain. This is a sizeable pub which has been knocked through to become one bar with a variety of different spaces. The centrally positioned servery acts like a divide between an open area designed for entertainment and cosy seating areas to the right. The decor is contemporary with a mix of bright pastel colours and an eclectic combination of furniture. For the warmer months, there is a good size beer garden. The beer selection offers familiar favourites, some cask and a range of craft options. I decided on a Pravha, my pint was decent, price point was average. The food menu is pub classics, Fish & Chips costs £17. I arrived just after 6pm, the pub was fairly busy and gearing up for a DJ night. The atmosphere was upbeat and convivial as the DJ played silky soulful tunes. The service was good, the chap who served me was pleasant and courteous. The pub has plenty to keep you entertained. During the month there are Quiz Nights, Soul DJ’s, a Piano Singalong and even a vintage clothes sale. The @royalstandardblackheath was an enjoyable visit. The beer was on point, I loved the architecture and there’s plenty on to engage the local community. Worth a look if you’re in the area. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 01.06.24

A nice pub with plenty of options for drinks such as draft beer and cider. Also a relatively large food menu. Can recommend their nachos. Sweet and friendly bartender who was very welcoming and helpful.

Hosted a party here for 20 schoolgirls just before Christmas, who all had a wonderful time :) the service was top notch and the food was fantastic! We've also had lunch here before, 5*portion, taste and quality. Thanks to the team, you make it hard not to return 😊

I’ve recently moved into the immediate area and this pub has definitely become my favourite local! The friendly staff / team have made me feel very welcome, so much so that my drink is ready for me just as I get to the bar ( not sure if that’s a good thing or not!!) . The menu is thoughtful and varied and the food is lovely and always served with a smile. A shout out to Layton for his kindness , wit and being aware of what the customer needs, likewise, having my drink ready, thank you!

Mrs & I decided to have Sunday dinner out. Popped in after walking the dog in Greenwich park, dogs are welcome inside too 👍 Mrs had lamb shank, I opted for the roast chicken 😎 Fast and attentive service and delicious meals too 👍
Rating: 4 / 5
A large pub next to Greenwich Park. The downstairs bar is spacious, there is a smaller bar upstairs and plenty of covered external seating. They only had one cask beer and around 12 whiskies so I opted for a double Woodford Reserve bourbon at £12.50, at the pricier range for me. They do provide food and their Sunday roast is heavily promoted (I did not eat so please see other reviews regarding food quality). I was here at 3.30pm on a Friday and it was quiet. In summary an OK pub.

Absolutely lovely place! Stepped in just for a pint after a long walk on a sunny day. Loved talking to the girls behind the bar. They were very welcoming and friendly. Sadly, by the time I arrived, their kitchen was closed. Would love to check out their Sunday Roast sometime.
