Absolutely one of the best breakfasts I've had in quite a few years! Great value, great seevice and the owners are very friendly. It’s worth coming to Selco just for the food

Loved it down here because the service is so warm and decent. We had a great lunch, a huge tasty burger with chips and a fry up. The place was kind of quiet, so could watch the TV on the wall. No idea really why this cafe is here but I’m damn pleased it is. Cracking place.

We decided to have breakfast here since we were staying nearby and had read all the wonderful reviews. We tried three different breakfast dishes along with fresh orange juice, and everything was delicious – we left feeling full and satisfied! While the food was tasty, it was really the warm atmosphere and the kindness of the staff that made the experience memorable. Their friendliness and genuine attentiveness are what keep people coming back and leaving such positive feedback. I’ve lived in Kennington for 15 years and have always meant to try this place. Finally did today and regret not coming in sooner. Friendly staff, good food, good service. Good fry up with decent Cumberland style sausages and bubble (bit of a rarity south of the river). I’ll definitely be back and would recommend!

We were immediately charmed by this cafe. The atmosphere is everything you are expecting from the outside with a bustling vibe. A real local experience. The plates are loaded high with comforting food that feels like it came straight out of your mums kitchen in the early 2000s. Prices are super reasonable. Would definitely recommend the stop by if you’re hungry - vegetarian and halal available. Orders the vegan breakfast - and I am not a huge fan of fake meats - and was pleasantly surprised when the vegan sausage was more like a sausage shaped bubble and squeak, instead of a traditional vegan sausage!

This place is an absolute must when visiting London. It has everything you want in a greasy spoon. As an Irishman it pains me to say this but I've never had such an amazing breakfast in all my life. The bubble, fried slice, and sausage were nothing short of mind blowing. Staff and atmosphere was also superb!

This was such a cute hole in the wall! We stumbled upon it looking for breakfast and loved it! Our server (who I believe is the manager and/or owner) was the loveliest man with such a warm personality and great recommendations for the area. The food was delicious, filling, and such a bargain price. The coffee was tasty and everything hit the spot. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a cozy, delicious breakfast for a decent price.

I went there to try the typical english breakfast and I was not disappointed! Lots of choice and different options so you can really choose what you like. The waiter (owner?) want really nice and made me feel welcomed. I would definetly recommend!

Obsessed, our new spot when visiting London. The staff were super friendly, particularly the owner who couldn’t do enough for you! The atmosphere was so lovely and made an amazing start to our day. And to top it off the veggie breakfast was AMAZING and the hot chocolate was the best I’ve ever had, please please get one!

I have flown many times into/out of London but never from London City. What a delight it was to discover Soul & Grain. It was the perfect place to wait to check in for my flight. The espresso was great but Tamanna Nahida was the real gem. She suggested drink options for hesitant customers and helped me decide between two favorites. I will absolutely recommend Soul & Grain because of her.

Kabeer was super helpful and gave a great suggestion on a turkey sandwich. The sandwich was awesome and the bread was amazing!!!

A bit basic but coffee was hot and strong, cafe had been closed over Xmas and new year. Service was very quick and I served by a very polite Japanese lady.

I visited this cafe several years ago, on holiday (we live in the United States). This was my first time in London, and I was so thoroughly impressed with the menu, the homey decor, and the friendly, prompt, and welcoming service. The tea was excellent, as was the egg mayo sandwich and scone. Highly recommend! The view from the park is lovely, too, especially if weather permits sitting outside.

The best value cafe in south east London run by the nicest people! Our favourite place for a (bargain) sausage sandwich and coffee after parkrun or junior parkrun.

A gem. I had to order my food three times and it was still wrong and I found a tea bag at the bottom of my brew. Despite this I'd go back again and again because the people were so lovely and the atmosphere so great.

My partner and I had a good hearty breakfast here. The only unfortunate thing was that one of the staff members was late to work which resulted in an argument between her and another staff member in the kitchen. Not very professional but it didn't spoil our meal. Keep the work disputes outside 👍

First visit for my son and I- recommended for breakfast by my mechanic who works nearby while my son's car was being serviced. Assumed it would be a local greasy spoon but was pleasantly surprised by the interior, with reclaimed wooden tables and wall mirrors. A large ceramic cupcake on the windowsill caught my eye and brought back memories as my daughter, now a mum of three, used to have a smaller version as a child in her bedroom! Excellent full English. Nice people. Recommended.

Great food and good prices. Was expecting a greasy spoon but this is definitely not that. Choice of well made burgers, spaghetti, pork loin, sausage and mash, roast in a bap as well as healthier fare. Good, friendly service. Paid £12.50 for a burger, chips and a decent Americano. Would definitely go again.

An amazingly good cafe on the industrial estate by the river in Charlton. Quality of food, choices available and price are all unbeatable in the area. The go to cafe for breakfasts and lunch if you’re aware of its existence. The chefs do a top job and front of house service is really friendly.

Breakfast , lunch, and all the good stuff ( treats ) .. this is the place to be 😋. Service with a smile 😃 Warm welcome from all members of staff. Excellent choice of food cooked to Michelin standards . Gordon Ramsey has nothing on this guy. Shame it's not open 8 days a week 25/8.

Has never disappointed. As a coffee shop it’s the best in the area. As an eatery it straddles that perfect for a snack/breakfast and some lovely bigger plates for more of a meal sector wonderfully. Staff are professional and polite and as a coffee snob in my old age fellow coffee heads will love that every staff member that makes coffee is trained properly not simply shown how the coffee machine works as with so many other coffee shops. Give it a try you will come back 👍

Today I went for second time to this cafe in Blackheath and it was great, I forgot how good it was, especially the staff was friendly and it was busy. The coffee were very good (and I’m very picky with my coffee, but my flat white was perfect) the breakfast menu had different choice and it was great, we will be back again soon. Thank you

My kids love this place and we've been going here for many years - it hasn't disappointed once! The traditional Italian cafe style food is great and the milkshakes are to die for! The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are always incredibly friendly.

The staff at this hidden gem of a café are most accommodating and friendly. Gary (the proprietor) would give Gordon Ramsey a run for his money with his culinary delights, with duck on watermelon salad, spare ribs etc. being amongst my favourites! Always impressed, the setting is tranquil, the ambience devine. I would thoroughly recommend this (pleasaunce) café.

Very sweet hidden cafe. Definitely recommend this place. The staff are friendly Outdoor tables in summer are so nice, feels like such a good little spot and view of the park. The food is good and good portion and reasonable price. I really liked my croque monsieur and chips. However, all the cheddar on top and then the bechamel sauce inside made the whole thing too salty for me. Please use less salt or less salty cheese

This is cute a cute place to come and have a snack/lunch. All their desserts are homemade and delicious. The two owners are really friendly. I like their cinnamon rolls. 7£ for 2 which it’s very expensive but once in a while I guess it’s worth it. Downside: they take forever to serve you. If you are not in a rush I guess that’s ok but every time I come here it takes forever to get the food. I’m guessing because there are only 2 people working here and sometimes it gets quite busy. Also it’s expensive!

A great choice of spot in Blackheath Standard. The food is nice and cooked fresh, could do with being served on a plate, cutting toasted sourdough in a bowl is asking for trouble. The staff are very friendly and helpful. To help the atmosphere of the cafe, it could do with some soft furnishing, just takes one happy chatty table or a vocal baby to dominate the space. So bring your noise cancelling headphones. Don’t that put you off though, it’s just something the owners should consider.

Delicious coffee, delicious food, always warm inside, and fantastic friendly staff. I also really love the display from a local artist on the walls at the moment!
