The Best Cafes in Mortlake, Greater London, United Kingdom (2025)

Nine of us descended on Le Swine to check out their legendary bacon butties. We could not have been more impressed. They looked incredible. They were totally delicious. That bacon butter, those milk and caramelised onion buns, beautiful and generous serving of bacon and a perfect fried egg made for the best bacon butty I have ever had. We also tried the hash browns fried in beef dripping - stunning! We'll be back soon to face an epic dilemma. Do we go off piste and try some of the other breakfast/ bunch offerings or do we stick with the best damn bacon butties out there? Special thanks go out to Eddie and his team, we could not have had a warmer welcome!

If more places did customer service blended with the level of friendliness these guys have, well, there would be a lot more fantastic reviews! The breakfast was amazing. Question how do you make a french breakfast manly? Cut open that croissant, and stuff it with protein 😁😋. Build your own stuffed croissant. Sausage, bacon, egg, cheese, black pudding... Fantastic! Looking forward to my next trip.

I have been following the instagram page since Le Swine opened about a year ago. I never had a chance to visit. Finally I got down there and to say it’s probably the best fry up in London is an understatement. 11/10

Only one place to be on a BH Monday. Super chilled atmosphere. Effortlessly friendly team. Food always on point. The Sausage, Cheese and Egg Croissant are what dreams are made of.

Best Bolognese in Barnes. And the loveliest owners. Very lucky to have Dolce on white hart lane.

I do love this coffee shop. The Romanian man, Emil is always great and his service is just outstanding. The food is always fresh, and the sweets….oh God…are just perfect. Definitely, a place where you should stop by for a quick warm coffee, lunch and dessert.

We stumbled across this place after being unimpressed by Orange Pekoe over the road and were blown away by the quality of the drinks and food. The coffees were excellent and we each had an omelette that was cooked to absolute perfection. I’m not a fan usually of omelettes but I’ll be ordering one again when I next go. It came with a salad which had a delicate pesto sauce on it that complimented rather than overpowered the greens. What else can I say and what more could you want? Go to Dolce Crema!

This review is much much overdue. I used to regularly eat lunch here - amazing pasta - about 10 years ago possibly while working across the road. It’s great to see the cafe still there. Highly reccomended - if they at all need any more recommendations :-)

This cozy cafe is a true gem! The warm, welcoming atmosphere is perfect for relaxing, and the food was simply delicious. I had a tasty salad with fresh ingredients, and the pastries were fantastic, especially the croissants. A must-visit for anyone in the area!

Everything about this place is impeccable. We ordered a jacket potato, hot chocolate and toast. Ever seen a jacket potato with a cheese pull? The jacket potato was the most rich, fluffy and delicious one I've ever had. The toast was nice and warm when it was served, and the hot chocolate was extremely decadent and luxurious. Not a single item was disappointing - as someone who dislikes salad, I had the salad that came along with the jacket potato. The atmosphere was very nice, it was quiet despite people being inside. I would say maybe some calming background music could be nice. The last thing I would say is the jam that was served along the toast was expired - packaged products aren't really likely to go off but it did put me off a tiny bit, but I don't usually have jam anyways. Overall I'm giving it a 5/5 as it's definitely somewhere I'd love to go again for the jacket potato or for a rich hot chocolate!

Blackened Miso Cod Fillet :The miso cod is surprisingly nice, very fresh taste and good combo of sauce. Peruvian-Style Comfed Grilled :The chicken is juicy and has a hint of grilled aromatic taste. Atmosphere:Elegant interior,lovely place for a date.

We’ve walked past this many times and have always wanted to pop in and when we finally did, it didn’t disappoint! The lamb was melt in the mouth delicious, the miso cod was perfectly cooked and the starters were super tasty. The service was exceptional - Dimitris was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us and the atmosphere and local live musician was a great touch. Highly recommend!

Great Restaurant with an eclectic menu. Service is attentive and friendly and we were all offered a friendly welcome on arrival and departure. Food is really delicious, with plenty of flavour and very reasonably priced. Fantastic local restaurant. It was completely full on a Saturday night and booking is very much recommended.

We had a wonderful evening. The food was fantastic. Everything was cooked perfectly and all the meals were very tasty. The cocktails were really nice and the wine delicious, even more so when sipped in a nice atmosphere. Dimitris and the rest of the staff were all very welcoming, amicable and relaxed. Dimitris advised us on the wine and we weren’t disappointed. We will definitely be back and this might become our go to restaurant in the area from now on.

On two separate occasions I've ordered two different takeaway coffees from this place on a whim and both times it has been absolutely exceptional, so much so that I feel compelled to leave a review about it.

We had a breakfast there: Full english was nicely cooked and served, quality ingredients. Good coffee. Kids menu was exactly what needed including slides of cucumber and tomatoes. Hot chocolate with marshmallows was tasty. Recommend this place for a breakfast or lunch. Thanks.

High quality fresh food. Stumbled across this cafe/restaurant after the gym ! Had lasagna with American pancakes and a green smoothie! Nice chilled vibe mixed with the old-school European style service and high quality food. Will definitely come again.

A delightful place for an early evening bite - savoury and sweet - all delicious. The cafe is spotlessly clean, the owner gave a warm welcome and the price is very reasonable. The Chai Latte was especially good. We would certainly go back!

Visiting Upper Richmond Caffe in Richmond with my family turned out to be an absolutely delightful experience. We enjoyed the mediterranean breakfast and the tea. They have a fairly affordable price but we weren't ready for that size of a breakfast meal so we shared some of them which were all delicious. It is a very lovely and charming coffee with good decor and atmosphere

A regular at this amazing cafe. They offer a great selection of specialty coffee, also serving delicious Vietnamese coffee and Thai tea. If you're looking for a light snack, they have your classic pastries & cakes, smoothies and a delicious granola bowl. But the Thai curries are definitely the standout and a must-try. The cafe also sells handmade ceramics and crafts which adds a unique and creative ambient to the space. Staff are always welcoming and hospitable and even on a busy day, they keep calm and collected. We're very lucky to have them in Sheen.

Cute little café near Mortlake station with lovely staff, a few cozy seats and a varied menu. Really enjoyed the coffee and the white chocolate pecan cookies we ate. There were also lots of little crafts to purchase.

Cute, cosy little cafe with nice coffee and food. The menu isn't very large, but what they do offer I like. For example the granola is very nice for breakfast, and their Thai curries are nice for lunch - the green one is on the spicy side and the red one is on the sweet side. They have quite a nice variety of coffee on offer, served in cute cups which you can purchase if you like. Should try their Vietnamese coffee, but ask if you can have the condensed milk separate so that you can adjust the sweetness to your taste (I prefer mine without). They also have a variety of cakes and sweet treats up front daily for you to choose from. Staff are kind and polite.
