Kennington Lane Cafe

Rating: 4.9 (4464) Price Level:
I’ve lived in Kennington for 15 years and have always meant to try this place. Finally did today and regret not coming in sooner. Friendly staff, good food, good service. Good fry up with decent Cumberland style sausages and bubble (bit of a rarity south of the river). I’ll definitely be back and would recommend!

This place is an absolute must when visiting London. It has everything you want in a greasy spoon. As an Irishman it pains me to say this but I've never had such an amazing breakfast in all my life. The bubble, fried slice, and sausage were nothing short of mind blowing. Staff and atmosphere was also superb!

We decided to have breakfast here since we were staying nearby and had read all the wonderful reviews. We tried three different breakfast dishes along with fresh orange juice, and everything was delicious – we left feeling full and satisfied! While the food was tasty, it was really the warm atmosphere and the kindness of the staff that made the experience memorable. Their friendliness and genuine attentiveness are what keep people coming back and leaving such positive feedback. Thank you for making our morning special – I’m sure you brighten the day for so many of your customers! 😊

We were immediately charmed by this cafe. The atmosphere is everything you are expecting from the outside with a bustling vibe. A real local experience. The plates are loaded high with comforting food that feels like it came straight out of your mums kitchen in the early 2000s. Prices are super reasonable. Would definitely recommend the stop by if you’re hungry - vegetarian and halal available. Orders the vegan breakfast - and I am not a huge fan of fake meats - and was pleasantly surprised when the vegan sausage was more like a sausage shaped bubble and squeak, instead of a traditional vegan sausage!

Lovely local cafe with gigantic and delicious breakfast. Gee was our server, and he welcomed us into his place. And even though it was filled with mostly locals, he humored us with group photos. Men in high visibility construction vests were seated all around us. You know you’ve found a gem when this is the case. Would return!

Omg! Beautiful brunch here! I got the Morning Palestine dish and it was sensational! The muhammra was so tasty, so was the sesame bread and everything else! The highlight was definitely the baklava french toast! 100% recommend! Amazing pistachio flavor and crunch! Would so recommend! Prices are on the higher price, the vibe inside in nice, our waiter was lovely, one of the waitress looked like she didn’t want to be there but overall we had a great brunch!

Highly recommend the Tahini latte ☕️!! It has a thicker texture than regular latte but soooooo yum, you can smell and taste the tahini in it, blended in in a warm, soulful way☀️ I had a Damascus and my friend ordered the Harkney Feast. The babaganoush & hummus in the Damascus goes really well with the pita so I dived right in and didn’t worry about making my hands messy, haha! Everything’s made in the house, including tomato baked beans in the Hackney Feast🍅 it doesn’t have the fake sweetness of all canned beans and the sausage is tender & soft~ They also have no-added-sugar smoothies 🍓 which is perfect for warm weathers.

An absolute win, discovering this little gem, so close to home. The staff were so lovely, engaging, and helpful with the menu. The food, out quick, and super delicious, also cheep! The atmosphere is dusty (in a good way) it reminded me of cafe’s I visited in Istanbul. The books along the wall are a great additive. The facilities were clean, everything was presented with class. I'll definitely be back!

Very cute little café on Stoke Newington High Street serving amazing coffee. We had the pleasure of trying a seasonal offer tahini maple latte which was delightful. Their mocha very rich and creamy. Great selection of cakes, pastries and breakfast and brunch foods both vegan and non-vegan. To eat we had the Damascus and the baklava french toast. The former was a nice variety of very tasty foods, although I was left just a little disappointed with the portions especially when compared to the other dish which was absolutely massive. The french toast and cream was delicious, (perhaps even a little too much cream dare I say!) but definitely not for those who aren't craving anything sweet at the moment. To conclude, we will definitely be back to try all of the other dishes, because they all looked incredible going past our table!

🫶Definitely gonna recommend! Recently, I found a Middle Eastern brunch in Hackney. I am tired of eating the same Full English Breakfast which costs £10.5 and £12 at every turn. Today, I want to change my taste with my friend from the same city. A friend who lives in North London said that this shop is delicious in its blind spots, and we started by following doctor's orders (no. My friend ordered the main Hackney feast, and I ordered the marharba. 🥓 Hackney Feast: A Pro Version of the classic English breakfast This dish is full of meat! Organic cumberland sausage served with greasy orange juice. Bite into it while it's hot! The roasted tomatoes and mushrooms were tender and juicy. The sweetness of the tomato and the saltiness of the bacon intertwine in a rich layer of flavor that completely breaks the monotony of the traditional English breakfast. Fresh sourdough bread topped with long-simmered traditional chickpeas gives you a boost to get through the day. 🐑 Marhaba: A tingle of Middle Eastern flavor If you also like to try different flavors, Marhaba is a must! Delicious! 🥹 I originally ordered this dish for two pieces of grilled cheese 🧀, but it turned out that the bread was also delicious. Although it felt a little hard at first, the Greek yogurt was really wonderful after dipping. They gave away two kinds of dippers. When you're tired of big chunks of red meat, it's nice to scoop up a refreshing Middle Eastern salad with a spoon 😋it's soooo Good.

Very delicious meal. We ordered a Full English breakfast and French toast, both dishes were perfect. The beans in the English breakfast are delicious, the sourdough is not too hard, and the bacon is not too salty. The French toast is very soft and tasty with berries and syrup. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting London!!

We ate the full vegetarian English breakfast and the explosion waffles. I enjoyed the baked beans, sausage, and garlicky mushrooms a lot, I will order some extra next time 😋 I enjoyed the fruits and ice cream on the waffles 🍓🍌 Upon arriving we had such a welcoming experience thanks to Fatima! It was a nice and cozy place - see you again soon!
Rating: 5 / 5
Wow, wow, wow it was my first time in London and my first English breakfast. It tasted so delicious and it was my best cappuccino in London and I had a lot of it. The waitress Fatima is such a nice and friendly person that you feel so comfortable there. Thank you for serving me today. I hope to see you soon. All in all it was a great brunch, if you're vegan and want a typical English breakfast you've at the right place. Take a look for yourself, you will love it.

My husband and me are from Chicago, so we have REALLY REALLY high standards for what we consider “good” food and service and this place takes the cake. We came back after an amazing first experience. All of their ingredients are fresh, the portions are big and most importantly the food is DELICIOUS. We ordered the avocado bliss toast and the omelette along with fresh pressed apple and orange juice. An absolute banging way to start the day. Don’t read any other review, just go and see for yourself also, 5 stars on the staff, they were attentive and helpful!

Fantastic food but goodness is it close quarters in there. Definitely shoulder to shoulder and you need to move your table to be able to get seated. Loved the French toast and eggs though. Certainly the best I’ve had in London

We had here the first breakfast of our journey and we ended up in coming all the morning of our stay in London. The food is delicious, both sweet and savoury offers, there are plenty of beverages to choose and several tables to enjoy the breakfast inside. The staff is so nice, it was a cuddle to come back and be recognized and welcomed. So happy to don't feel strangers. Highly recommended.

My favourite spot in London! The flat white is delicious, and bakery is always fresh and tasty! In addition to it is the mission of this place, buying a coffee you are helping people with learning disabilities to adapt in working environment. So, you enjoy both having a great coffee and feeling a great person))))
Rating: 5 / 5
Came across this cafe in London and love the concept. They're a non-profit cafe so you can enjoy great coffee here while supporting a good cause. I loved the selection of pastries they had. I was impressed with the number of vegan pastries they had including an almond croissant! I got an oatmilk latte, almond croissant and a raspberry tea cake which were delicious. Highly recommend coming here for the excellent pastry selection especially if you're vegan as you'll be amazed by the choices.

Obsessed, our new spot when visiting London. The staff were super friendly, particularly the owner who couldn’t do enough for you! The atmosphere was so lovely and made an amazing start to our day. And to top it off the veggie breakfast was AMAZING and the hot chocolate was the best I’ve ever had, please please get one!

Not only was the food outstanding, but the warm, welcoming service made the whole experience even better. It’s rare to meet someone so genuinely kind first thing in the morning, and it truly set the tone for the rest of the day. As for the breakfast, it was divine. Every bite was perfectly crafted—from the fresh ingredients to the balanced flavors. The combination of excellent food and heartfelt service made this morning meal feel like a special treat. A perfect start to the day!

I went there to try the typical english breakfast and I was not disappointed! Lots of choice and different options so you can really choose what you like. The waiter (owner?) want really nice and made me feel welcomed. I would definetly recommend!

This was such a cute hole in the wall! We stumbled upon it looking for breakfast and loved it! Our server (who I believe is the manager and/or owner) was the loveliest man with such a warm personality and great recommendations for the area. The food was delicious, filling, and such a bargain price. The coffee was tasty and everything hit the spot. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a cozy, delicious breakfast for a decent price.

Not much seating provided by the cafe but there is more public seating than other locations. The coffee is always perfect. I definitely recommend trying their espresso soft serve. It has the perfect amount of coffee taste and is super refreshing in the summer.

Awesome coffee (ordered flat wite), pleasant staff, nice interior. The place is surrounded by beautiful district.
Rating: 5 / 5
The best, best-placed coffee shop in central London? Service that is as thoughtful as the Bank branch, with a quality of coffee serving to match. Read the FT on the wall while wondering why croissants here and across London are so flabby.
Rating: 5 / 5
Superb coffee. One of the better ones I had in London. Avoid the morning crowd. I had hot oatmilk cappuccino. You can tell from the crowd that they serve really good coffee. Good vibes, good taste and nice location. You can't miss it. Go during the off peak period if you ain't working that day. Good standing space in the shop but come out for the sun or the cold weather. Will be back again next time.

Drury 188-189 Covent Garden | Cafe & Brunch

Rating: 4.8 (2638) Price Level:
Looking for good coffee? The guys at Drury get it. The coffee was fantastic, the scrambled eggs on toast were fab (get the British Bacon, thank me later!) and the coconut porridge was spectacular. Definitely worth a visit.
Rating: 5 / 5
Drury 188-189 truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best cafés in London. Located in a central spot with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, it’s perfect for a quick bite, a full meal, or just to relax with a good coffee. The variety on the menu is impressive—from small bites to proper meals, including scones with jam, they have something for every craving. Food I tried the Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale, and both dishes were exceptional. The lattes were perfectly crafted, smooth and creamy, and the Coco Loco smoothie was a refreshing addition to the meal. The flavors were spot on, and the presentation made everything look even more inviting. Atmosphere & Service The atmosphere is both cozy and bustling, which adds to the charm. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home even if it gets busy. Just keep in mind it can get quite crowded, so be prepared for a short wait of around 15-20 minutes during peak times. But trust me, it’s worth every minute! Final Thoughts Whether you’re a local or just visiting London, Drury 188-189 is a must. With great food, a central location, and a warm vibe, it’s one of those places you’ll want to return to again and again. Highly recommended!
Rating: 5 / 5
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Drury 188-189. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with warm lighting and a charming decor that instantly makes you feel at home. The charcuterie board was stunningly presented, featuring a delightful selection of cheeses, cured meats, fresh grapes, and nuts, perfectly paired with the creamy dips and olives. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients were evident in every bite. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring our experience was seamless from start to finish. Whether you’re looking for a relaxed evening with friends or a romantic date spot, this place is a hidden gem in London. I’ll definitely be coming back for the amazing food and great vibes!

Brilliant Brunch spot in Covent Garden! Drury 188-189 is an absolute gem. The French toast is perfectly light and indulgent, but the highlight has to be the baklava pancake. The cosy atmosphere and lovely staff make it even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back!

Such a cute little coffee shop right in the heart of London, and it’s got such a great vibe. The staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome every time you visit. I keep coming back for their seasonal drinks; they’re always amazing, especially the winter and summer specials. It’s one of those spots that’s usually filled with locals, which I love because the energy is always so relaxed and positive, with everyone just enjoying their coffee and chatting. The location is perfect and easy to find, so it’s a great spot to pop into whether you’re in the area or just looking for somewhere to chill. Definitely one of my favorites in the city!

Recently discovered this pretty little cafe and have had some amazing food here. The service also makes you feel incredibly warm and welcome here. There coffee is some of the best I've had in London, their dishes are hearty and delicious, and the atmosphere and the serving staff just makes your day.

Wild Thyme is the perfect place for a brunch in Shepherd’s Bush. We had Eggs Benedict and Royal Benedict and they were great! The place is a little bit busy in the weekend but the service is fast and efficient. Rebecca served us and she was super lovely. One of the best Sunday Brunches I’ve ever had!

Regency Cafe
17-19 Regency St, London SW1P 4BY, UK | Cafe P: 020 7821 6596
Rating: 4.7 (4028) Price Level:
Great pricing for traditional British breakfast! Don’t think food tasted any more special than elsewhere because there’s only so much you can do with baked beans, hash browns and toasts. But this place has its own character, extensive breakfast selections and was very popular, had to queue for a bit to get in and they close early as well. You can choose your own breakfast combination.
Rating: 5 / 5
Regency cafe, without wanting to I am sure, is the perfect spot if you are visiting London wanting to do as the locals do by grabbing a full English breakfast and enjoying the early start to the morning. As soon as you enter, it’s buzzing. There is a morning rush from the counter with the lady trying to get the orders in and plates out to customers as soon as they are ready. You have to order your meal before finding a table, be sure to have your mind made up so not to annoy others waiting. We ordered the set breakfast deal - the lady calls out your order when ready. It was absolutely delicious! Simple but very tasty. Highly recommend. The coffee is just filter coffee but we were not expecting a full on barista made coffee. The lady behind the counter was super nice and appreciated that we had made up our minds by the time we got to our ordering.
Rating: 5 / 5
This place kept coming up as a recommendation. I wasn't going to try it as an English breakfast didn't sound like the most appetizing thing but this place was great. No frills, diner like atmosphere. We got there right before the line got too long but you can expect a wait. Moves pretty quick though. I was nervous by the time we ordered there wouldn't be seating but this place is efficient. If you're looking to try a traditional English breakfast, definitely come here.
Rating: 5 / 5
This is a spot that you must visit at least once in your life. The food although readily available anywhere, comes with incredible service and an incredible atmosphere. The way orders are taken in itself are an experience. The food I had was very tasty and portions were very generous. I was given a generous helping of cheese and tartare sauce as part of the price. The chips are so well cooked, I thoroughly enjoyed. There is a wait, however it’s worth it and the lines reduces at pace.
