Cafe Noir

Cute little coffee kiosk tucked away by the main entrance to Highgate tube station (so not the entrance by the car park). Pretty good selection of snacks, and I love that everything had the price clearly displayed - too often this type of shop seems to make up the price when you pick up an item, so five stars for Cafe Noir!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best chicken club sandwich ever had in London. They were kind enough to replace bacon with Turkish sujuk in the sandwich upon my request. Reasonable and affordable prices, and most importantly very good quality food. The staff is very kind and accommodating. Lovely cafe to visit!

Can't say enough about this place. We're visiting from the States, and we didn't want a standard pastry/coffee breakfast. This place has wonderful choices many of which are healthy, the staff is great, and view of the street is busy and bright. I had the Mediterranean Breakfast, which was outstanding. It's an easy choice if you're in the area.

An excellent place to have breakfast. 8 of us in for Sunday Brunch. I particularly recommend the £14 protein brunch. Great portion sizes against the average plate cost. -1 star for 1 eggs florentine plate that had undercooked poached eggs but this was removed from the bill after a pleasant chat with the staff. Speaking of the staff, they were all excellent in particular Leila needs a shout out. She is exceptionally friendly and helpful. A real asset to the team. We all highly recommend this place.

Little gem of a place. Strong coffee & great food in a gorgeous space tucked away on the high street. Protein breakfast was delicious - THE most perfect fried eggs & beautiful sourdough toast on the side. Price perfectly reasonable too. Would 100% recommend.

Cozy and lovely place decorated with a Mediterranean style and smart located at a rock throwing distance from Archway station. The staff is friendly, the tables and chairs are very comfortable and the food is great. I tried the Mediterranean breakfast and my partner the English. Both were great and also many other options are available in the menu.

Vanilla Café

Rating: 4.9 (180) Price Level:

Excellent place for breakfast. We were welcomed with open arms and were accommodated to park our 2 bicycles. The scrambled eggs on toast are excellent, come with a side salads (with avocado!). Coffee is good and strong. Bit of a shame that it’s right on busy Archway road, but still very much worth a visit.

I had the pleasure to taste a piece of mango passion fruit cake last year. I loved it and it's been my 'go to' cake since then. I've ordered it 3 times for different family celebrations and I treated my friend on her 50th birthday with this delightful cake. After my recommendation, some of my friends also ordered this cake from #Vanilla Café. The cake is very light, with soft sponge and fruity layers. My daughter compared it to mango sorbet. The handmade chocolate decorations made each cake absolutely unique. Highly recommended. I'm looking forward to the next occasion to order it. It's worth mentioning that there are many more flavours of cakes to choose from, including vegan and gluten free options. The atmosphere of the place and professionalism of the owners is also second to none. Thank you for your delicious cakes #Vanilla Café.

Have been coming here for over a year, most mornings. Great coffee and the best sourdough for miles around baked every morning by the husband and wife team who own the place. There is always a friendly smile. My favourite are the date and Walmut cookies.

Wow! What a find! We strolled upon this place on a chilled Sunday, they were quite busy but super friendly and efficient - great deals on too!! I always judge the decency of a coffee place by its mocha . This was the best combination of chocolate and espresso flavour. So impressed I returned during the week, even though it was a 25 minute walk out of my way. The brilliant happy, chilled and friendly female barista/server even remembered my name and my friends from the previous visit. For a tourist cafe, they went over the top on service, tasty food and drinks! Very impressed-highly recommend this gem. ☕️❣️🥐🥑

We stumbled upon this charming little shop by chance while entering the Heath, and it quickly became a ‘don’t miss’ destination for all future visits. The coffee, sandwiches, and delightful selection of desserts were all outstanding. The baguettes were generously filled, crafted with expertise and care, and we're incredibly reasonable for the quality. Each member of our group tried a different one, and we were all impressed with our choices. But the unexpected stars were the pastries and muffins—each with amazing, unique flavour combinations. If you’ve ever passed by and thought, 'Should I stop?' the answer is yes, absolutely. Don’t hesitate!

Nice vegetarian breakfast, although the beans are not the best I've had and the cherry tomatoes and feta are a bit uninteresting -- love the harissa yogurt on the other hand, and the vegan sausage is quite good. Beautiful place with a lot of natural light; service was a bit cold but not rude.

Finally made it here after many failed attempts due to its massive popularity! Just the cosiest, loveliest, little café. Service was warm and friendly and super efficient, and the food is absolutely delicious and clearly homemade with love. The brunch menu is so much more varied and interesting than the usual stuff you see, but I couldn't resist the full English. The homemade hash browns and baked beans were a particularly delicious and unexpected highlight!

Delicious cafe and I think everyone knows it because there's always a queue. But it's worth it. Fab friendly service and everything is homemade, so if you have any dietary requirements they can expertly tell you if they can cater for it (or otherwise). And because it's all made there, the menu changes regularly. Bonus: they have great coffee!

Ordered the English Breakfast. Was one of the best breakfasts I had in a long time. I'm not normally one for beans but the sauce and the seasoning was out of this world. The hash brown were also amazing normally very hard to find somewhere that can actually cook them right. Everything else was delicious. Would definitely be returning and would 100% recommend this place.

I love this little gem of a cafe. The food is mouth watering & they have a great seasonal selection. A great little stop if you're on a dog walk on Parkland Walk (dog friendly inside) & the building is steeped in history, being the old train station! Highly recommend.

Wow! A beautiful new spot for great coffee and rustic Mediterranean cuisine, salads, sarnies and more! Merro boasts so much ambience and great energy that you forget where you are while sitting in the sun outside. The courtyard has a lovely view of the parkland which really takes you away from the bustle while chilling on a sunny day and the interior inside is very inviting, trendy and cosy for those rainy days. Totally tranquil - love it - plus obviously a great Oat Latte to match the service! THE HOMEMADE ORANGE CAKE AND COULE IS AMAAAAZING 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟10/10

I love this cafe. The inside is so perfectly decorated, brightly lit, warm and cozy. The art on the walls really brings it together. The outside terrace looking over the gardens and park is incredible in summer. You can easily spend an hour walking around the park and then enjoying a coffee outside.

This is a nice little café in a lovely park. They offer a nice selection of home-made cakes along with hot food that's attractive to both adults and kids. The staff are helpful, if perhaps a little overwhelmed at times, and bring your food to your table. What's pleasing is that you can sit inside and outside in enough safety to let your children, or dogs, roam freely. It's a lovely location looking out over the park although there is some noise from the main road up to Highgate.

I had a table inside for a coffee and an excellent salmon salad described as hot, although it was actually served cold and there was thank goodness none of that chilli that seems to be added in so many places. Barista was good with the coffee; returned later for tea and cake.

Here's the revised review: --- I went to The Nook to try the Beetroot Latte and the White Chocolate Matcha. The Beetroot Latte had a pleasant cinnamon/chai taste, which I really enjoyed. The White Chocolate Matcha was very lovely, and I would definitely go back for it again. We visited at opening time, so it wasn’t busy at all, but I noticed that the store is extremely small with no seating available. It’s more of a grab-and-go type of place. which shouldn’t be a problem because beautiful Hampstead Heath is across the road. I also saw that they offer hot chocolate, which is definitely on my list to try. I will definitely be returning to The Nook to explore more options.

The coziest little nook in London! Whether you’re dropping by for coffee or gelato, this spot won’t leave you disappointed. Due to the size, it’s more of a takeout spot rather than dine-in. I appreciate that there are dairy-free/ vegan, as well as gluten free, goodies available! Nice spot to swing by if you’re nearby!

This shop I believe is new. Today was very hot and we happened to be in the area. Tried banana split and mango sorbet ice cream. They were delicious! The ice cream’s temperature was cold enough so it held the texture for quite a while in a hot weather. A bit pricey (£6.5 for a large pot) but tasty. Recommend.

What a great cafe, in the forecourt of the magnificent West Cemetery in Highgate. The barista (Louie) was so nice and helpful. Chatting and generally making the experience relaxing. He even commented positively on my coffee paintings of cemeteries - I shall make sure he gets a copy of the finished book. The coffee, both espresso (very fruity) and cappuccino (very creamy) hit the spot nicely. 10/10
