Exceptional food. The pancakes are a treat. I've also had the Mediterranean breakfast and French toast which are very good 😊. Service is great and there is also a good atmosphere

Beam is a fantastic cafe with top-notch coffee, a standout Mediterranean breakfast, and a delicious grilled chicken salad. Their chicken burger is also a must-try. The cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot to relax or get some work done with your laptop. It’s often busy, but if you time your visit right, it’s perfect. Friendly staff round out the experience. Highly recommended!

Turkish and middle eastern style breakfast, brunch and dinner. A large restaurant with outside seating. Ordered the goats salad, came without dressing. Has too many nuts on it. But the Hellumi on the side was nice.

Really lovely breakfast spot. Staff really friendly. I ordered the gluten free pancakes which were amazing! They took extra care to prepare mine as I’m coeliac and they reassured me of this upon arrival without any prompt.

Cricks Corner

Rating: 4.6 (321) Price Level:

This little oasis of coffee lovers is tucked away in a residential area and very popular with locals. And for good reason too.. Flat white with almond croissant is simply blissful. Laurens and George are a friendly and helpful team with Emir, making the best coffee in north Islington/ Archway. Definitely a favourite ✹

This cafe is a real gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuinely friendly service, which always makes a difference. And the coffee? Spot on. My cappuccino was clearly made with care - the foam was lovely and fine, and you could tell they'd used a really good espresso as the base. It was just what I needed. We had a BLT sandwich and a croissant. The BLT was a touch pricey, but it was made fresh to order, which you could definitely appreciate. The bacon was cooked to perfection – nice and crispy, just how I like it. You'd think getting bacon right would be basic stuff, but you'd be surprised how many places get it wrong! So, they definitely get a thumbs up for that. The croissant was delicious as well. While the prices might be a bit higher than your average cafe, the quality and service really justify it. Overall, a fantastic experience and I’d definitely recommend giving it a go

This is exactly what I expected from an out of town British little corner diner. The coffee was magnificent and the sandwich was the best meal to start my day. I will definitely come back to Crick's Corner one day.

Lauderdale House Cafe

P: 020 8348 8716

Rating: 4.6 (17) Price Level:

I had a table inside for a coffee and an excellent salmon salad described as hot, although it was actually served cold and there was thank goodness none of that chilli that seems to be added in so many places. Barista was good with the coffee; returned later for tea and cake.

This is a nice little café in a lovely park. They offer a nice selection of home-made cakes along with hot food that's attractive to both adults and kids. The staff are helpful, if perhaps a little overwhelmed at times, and bring your food to your table. What's pleasing is that you can sit inside and outside in enough safety to let your children, or dogs, roam freely. It's a lovely location looking out over the park although there is some noise from the main road up to Highgate.

I love this cafe. The inside is so perfectly decorated, brightly lit, warm and cozy. The art on the walls really brings it together. The outside terrace looking over the gardens and park is incredible in summer. You can easily spend an hour walking around the park and then enjoying a coffee outside.

The Nook

Rating: 4.6 (236) Price Level:

The coziest little nook in London! Whether you’re dropping by for coffee or gelato, this spot won’t leave you disappointed. Due to the size, it’s more of a takeout spot rather than dine-in. I appreciate that there are dairy-free/ vegan, as well as gluten free, goodies available! Nice spot to swing by if you’re nearby!

Here's the revised review: --- I went to The Nook to try the Beetroot Latte and the White Chocolate Matcha. The Beetroot Latte had a pleasant cinnamon/chai taste, which I really enjoyed. The White Chocolate Matcha was very lovely, and I would definitely go back for it again. We visited at opening time, so it wasn’t busy at all, but I noticed that the store is extremely small with no seating available. It’s more of a grab-and-go type of place. which shouldn’t be a problem because beautiful Hampstead Heath is across the road. I also saw that they offer hot chocolate, which is definitely on my list to try. I will definitely be returning to The Nook to explore more options.

This shop I believe is new. Today was very hot and we happened to be in the area. Tried banana split and mango sorbet ice cream. They were delicious! The ice cream’s temperature was cold enough so it held the texture for quite a while in a hot weather. A bit pricey (£6.5 for a large pot) but tasty. Recommend.

I was blown away by the quality of their flat white, probably one of the best I’ve ever tasted! The coffee had a perfect balance of bold flavour and smooth, creamy texture, with just the right amount of velvety foam on top. You can tell the baristas here really know their craft.

Good coffee and atmosphere. Took my kids here this morning and they enjoyed the play area as well as the pancakes. My husband and I enjoyed our coffee (iced flat white and hot long black). Interior design is really lovely. The street is also great with many shops to visit. Service is overall warm although there were some points when we weren’t sure if we could approach someone or not (very minor). Will definitely recommend to others and go back :)

What a great cafe, in the forecourt of the magnificent West Cemetery in Highgate. The barista (Louie) was so nice and helpful. Chatting and generally making the experience relaxing. He even commented positively on my coffee paintings of cemeteries - I shall make sure he gets a copy of the finished book. The coffee, both espresso (very fruity) and cappuccino (very creamy) hit the spot nicely. 10/10

Great coffee and freshly pressed orange juice at one of the most beautiful spots in London. Very friendly service and if you're lucky - which we were - you get to see some of the foxes that live in the cemetery strolling around causally. 10/10.

Good option for a nice and tasty breakfast/brunch in the area. We had walked past many times and finally managed to go on a rainy morning. Food was tasty and portion quite reasonable. I got the breakfast burrito and pretty tasty and filling. The rest of the people seemed to enjoy their food as well and were happy with the portions and their drinks. Couldn't fault them about anything really. Pretty decent place and would probably go back if I'm around the area.

We booked Archie's for my daughter's 18th birthday party. Everything was phenomenal. The manager, Kevin, ensured the whole process from booking through to the event was fluid and easy. My daughter and all her friends had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the venue, the food (they're still talking about the tacos) and the cocktails on the night. All the staff were really helpful. We couldn't recommend Archie's enough as a venue to hold a special event.

As soon as you step into the restaurant, you're greeted with a warm smile in a cozy atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The food is nothing short of amazing! I enjoyed the steak sandwich and the burnt Basque cheesecake, both earning a solid 10/10. The Bloody Mary was also a perfect 10/10. Kevin and his team truly excel in hospitality, making the experience all the more enjoyable. Will be back soon.

Just a good neighborhood spot with well prepared food and coffee. I had an excellent Lebanese Chicken wrap while my wife had a half breakfast. The wrap was a perfect lunch with a bit of spice. The grilled chicken was delicious, and all the ingredients combined very well. My wife’s fry up was the standard fare, but all of the individual elements were excellent. She was particularly pleased with the sausage. Staff are friendly and attentive, and the prices are reasonable. It looks like it is well supported by the locals, and if we lived closer, would certainly do so as well.

Rating: 4.1 (372) Price Level:

Enchanting little cabin, out of time and yet well preserved. Cozy and leafy, with plenty of treats and board games to entertain oneself. Mocha was delicious though super hot. Better avoid weekends as there’s often a queue.

Service 4 stars only because it was so busy - good for them but it took 1.5 hours to queue for and receive a sandwich and soup :,). Admittedly, we found the cafe via social media and it looks like everybody else did, too! The food was delicious, the servers were lovely and you can’t beat the location though! Get the burrata toastie!! I’d love to come back on a weekday!

Queens Wood Cafe truly feels like a slice of heaven on earth, an enchanted cabin surrounded by nature’s splendor. The setting is magical, and as soon as you arrive, you’re enveloped in a serene, peaceful atmosphere that invites you to slow down and savor the beauty around you. Every corner feels picture-perfect, so don’t forget your camera for those amazing shots. This spot is wonderfully pet-friendly; it was a joy to see dogs of all kinds there, enjoying the space as much as we did. For breakfast, we tried their pastries with coffee, plus a toast with cheese. I particularly liked the cappuccino, though the croissant wasn’t quite the classic French style I had expected. Prices are affordable, adding to the café’s welcoming vibe. We were so absorbed in the surroundings that time slipped away. We only left because it got chilly outside, but I can’t wait to return, again and again, to experience that enchanting atmosphere. Queens Wood Cafe is a must-visit; words simply can’t capture its beauty!

I come from central London for this, after seeing it in social media. This place feels like a hidden cabin straight out of a fairytale, surrounded by nature and so peaceful. It’s super photogenic, so don’t forget your camera. The place is really pet-friendly too, which adds to the charm. It does get busy, probably because everyone’s discovered it on social media, so expect a bit of a wait. The food was alright, and the staff were lovely. Honestly, it’s just a great spot to unwind and take in the scenery. I’ll definitely be back.
