Came here with friends during the evening on a weekday. Atmosphere was was calming and staff were very nice to let me in 15 minutes before my reservation time. For starters I ordered the onion soup, which was very delicious, and for mains I ordered the Gazette burger which was surprisingly very tasty (worth the money spent).
If you’re looking for a great beef tartare, done the old skool way, you’ll be in luck at Gazette. Although it’s slightly hidden away behind Chancery Lane, it’s a nice spot to get in the French vibe. The tartare is prepared in front of you so it’s served wonderfully fresh and each bite is packed with juicy flavour. The duck and bavette were juicy and tasty and the ingredients were fresh. The service took a little waving occasionally, probably because they were very busy but they were friendly and attentive when we had their attention. It’s a nice place.
The second time I ate here after my dentist appointment to do some work and a couple of online meetings. Mushroom risotto is so yummy. Very filling and I highly removed it. It is so good that both times I ordered the same dish 😁 Staff were SO accommodating and very friendly. They ensured I sit somewhere quite close to the socket so I can use my laptop.

The tartare is prepared in front of you so it’s served wonderfully fresh and each bite is packed with juicy flavour. The seafood bisque was tasty and the ingredients were fresh. The service took a little waving occasionally, probably as we were outside, but they were friendly and attentive when we had their attention. It’s a nice place to relax and have wine with some great tasting French treats.
