Very nice little Portuguese style restaurant, the type you would find in Portugal itself actually. Food was great, portions are good and prices are decent. Service was good and friendly. Chorizo was really nice, but I would not really recommend the squid (starter). The Peri Peri chicken was nice! I will definitely come back to try more of the menu. Good to have places like this around the corner of your house 😌

Really nice ,very cozy ,perfect for cold winters beer and snacks while watching the Portuguese footy derby . I haven't tried the food yet but will definitely do it next time around

Hidden Portuguese little diner style restaurant. The imported beer is tasty and strong! I had a simple egg sandwich which was filling and it gave it a nice kick with their hot sauce! Homemade style, even their dessert was not too sweet and a great addition to the lunch meal. So many other items to try on the menu still.

Really good food, actually prepared from fresh. Also the only decent coffee in the area.

Tried the wagyu beef burger and loaded wagyu chips yesterday, meat was of high quality, burger was really juicy and tasty, loved the condiments that came with it. Demolished it before I remembered to take a picture. Loaded fries also exceptional, drizzled it with the special homemade chilli sauce which had a perfect kick of spice and creaminess. Quick and friendly service, would highly recommend 👌

What a hidden gem in London! This restaurant is just fantastic! The food quality is amazing - from breakfast to dinner. The staff are also so kind, so friendly! Hem was the kindest and so polite. He made us feel so welcome, had a smile on his face, quickly made us feel like locals, and what a lucky restaurant to have him!!! Plus, the coffee he made us was perfect! We stayed around Canning Town for a few days and found this restaurant and decided to have some breakfast. The breakfast was so good that we decided to go for dinner! Their croissant is just the best one around! I thought it was going to be just the average food and I was so wrong! It was such a good surprise, it was delicious! Their coffee is also absolutely amazing! It's so good that you don't even need sugar with it! I wish I could drink it every day! The dinner was also amazing, cooked to perfection. Their nonalcoholic drink was also a very nice surprise! So delicious! My husband and I have been to Italy recently, and their dinner made us feel we were back in Italy!!! Authentic Italian food! I wish this restaurant all the success! They deserve it!!!

A very pleasant surprise. An nicely seasoned Yapix bruschetta washed down with an excellently served Toscany Morellino. The menu really looks like it desrves exploring. Authentic and quality with great service. Will be back!!! November 2024 - well return I did and again ticked all the boxes! Again went for the excellently served Morellino but this time went for the home made lasagne. What can I say? Beautifully presented, perfect balance of tastes, simple but authentic. This return visit did not disappoint and was worth the 600 mile journey to have lunch at Yapix. At 9am in the Scottish Highlands, at 1pm enjoying a taste of Italy. Thank you.

I've had the pleasure of visiting this local café multiple times, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. But what really sets this café apart is the quality of the food and coffee – everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. My partner and I both loved this place, with seating both inside and outside. The menu has a nice choice of Italian classics as well as British staple food. The food itself is very tasty and nicely served. Also the coffee tasted great!

Brilliant atmosphere and food. The prices are VERY low but overall quality is VERY high. Servers are kind, attentive, and made me feel right at home. Employees' experience in Italy is very clear in the quality of the coffee and pasta.

A great labyrinthine pub with faux beams all over the place. Lovely people having a drink and great staff taking care of everyone. Good beer including a couple of casks on offer. Plenty of space outside welcoming the good weather. There is a wonderful atmosphere in here, pop by for a pint.

Spent a night in London due to work, but was determined not to miss the Villa play! After asking at the hotel bar for a good place to watch the game, several voices all recommended the Black Lion in unison, and their recommendation did not disappoint! A "proper London pub", great beer, atmosphere and some of the most friendly, welcoming people you could meet. I had a great time with my fellow claret and blue (not Villa, Hammers haha) fans, and will be sure to return when I'm next in the big smoke! Thank you!

🚇 Plaistow 🍺 £5.80 Cruzcampo A Legendary Plaistow Boozer. The Black Lion is located in the heart of Plaistow E13. The nearest Tube is Plaistow, it’s a five minute walk to get here. This historic pub was originally built over 600 years ago. It was rebuilt in 1747 and remodelled again in 1875. Regular visitors in the 1960's were the West Ham team, including world cup trio of Bobby Moore, Martin Peters and Geoff Hurst. There is also a connection to Dick Turpin who stabled Black Bess in the stables here. This is a classic two bar oldschool pub that oozes old world charm. The bar on the right is split level and has Tudor beams and original exposed brickwork walls. The servery is a longun’ and stretches down the length of the bar. The seating is a mix of long velour upholstered benches with matching stools around circular tables. The smaller back bar is accessible by a separate door or through the end of the main bar. This bar is a cosier affair with a red carpet and comfy banquettes. In both bars is some superb memorabilia, you’ll find a photo of Bobby Moore, Warren Mitchell and Kenny Lynch propping up the bar here.There is also a picture of Canning Town born Terry Spinks who was the youngest Olympic gold medallist in British boxing history. The beer line up will please most, there is a good choice of mainstream beers with two cask ales. I decided on a pint of Cruzcampo, my pint was excellent, price point was average. There is a classic home cooked pub food menu available, Fish & Chips costs £13.00. There is also a seafood stall in the carpark next to the pub, I had some peeled prawns with plenty of pepper and vinegar for £4. We arrived bang on opening time at 12pm on mild Friday lunchtime in February. I was with die hard @westham fan and fellow pub enthusiast @scottyboy who knows a thing or two about pubs around this manor. As you can imagine the pub was quiet as we were the first ones in. There are a few screens dotted around the pub which had Sky Sports on in the background. The service was great, the barman was welcoming and was happy for me to take a few photos. This is a legendary pub which is steeped in folklore, history and is a favourite amongst the West Ham faithful. I absolutely loved visiting this pub, this is a proper London pub experience. Absolutely fantastic place. One of the last, if not THE last proper old East London pub. Run by a top Irish landlord and his family. Proper topnotch Guinness served here no less and at least one or two well-kept guest cask ales along with a massive range of whiskies (Scottish, Irish, Welsh, blended, and others) The food is amazing. (I've always gone for home made Steak and ale pie with either mash or chips and fresh veg with gravy.) It's really good value, and they serve large portions. Keeps you full all day for sure. All fresh and homemade, it seems and tastes like a lot of care has gone into making it to, and they are proud to serve you (the food and drinks). Always get a nice warm welcome, and the locals all seem friendly. However, this is a quiet, relaxed place most times I've been in, which is a welcome change. Although I imagine a fun and buzzing atmosphere for a big horse race or football match being shown. Bar snacks also served, of course, including Black Country pork scratchings. Will always return here when possible. Hidden gem. Long live the Black Lion.

The food is really delicious, recommend Borscht, chicken skewers and honey cake. Nice service and great decorations from Ukraine. Will return to try more Ukrainian dishes.

It was my first time dining at Restaurant Albina, I loved how authentic the restaurant was inside and how cosy it felt. I was greeted by the waitress who was very friendly and helped me with the menu as I couldn’t decide from all the tasty options! I ended up having the chicken/pasta soup with a warm bread bun. The soup was delicious, a clear broth with lots of flavour - and I loved how light but filling it was. The bun was the perfect add on. For dessert I had the cherry dumplings - I will definitely be coming back for those! Overall I had a really great meal, the food and atmosphere is very comforting and gives a lovely family/friendly vibe. Thank you Albina for a wonderful meal! I will definitely be returning!

Awesome fried trout with sautéed vegetables; unfortunately pampushky buns were too dry. Prices above average, main courses cost 20 pounds including delivery. Reservations required over the weekend, the restaurant was full already at 19.00 on a Saturday night.

The two young people who took our order and brought our food were excellent. The chicken skewer was lovely as were the potato dumplings.

Not only was the food amazing, but it was also great value for money. The restaurant's location is very convenient, right next to Stratford with easy access, and they offer free parking in the evenings—a huge plus! Went to the Grill with my family for a meal and a catch up. Service was attentive and prompt. We ordered quite a lot of food and it all arrived on time, nicely presented, and at the same time so noone was left out. Everything was delicious, the mac and cheese is amazing! A big thank you to Ali for accommodating us at short notice and being so kind to us during our visit.

The food was delicious, each dish had amazing seasoning and taste. We were able to finish everything because it was this tasty. They also serve rice with platters. The staff is really friendly, especially mr Ali he was really kind and helpful. Overall I really recommend this place if you haven’t tried yet !! (We were 5 people in total)
