A special meal for my birthday and it was fantastic, Tim our waiter was just brilliant. Was filling our water glasses before we even noticed, recommended drinks based on our likes. He was superb with my partner who had multiple allergies to egg milk and nuts. When a course accidentally came out with a sauce which he thought could have milk it in, he quickly made a replacement himself so we could eat together. He sadly had to go quickly at the end, so didn’t have time to thank him properly for how brilliant he was. He was credit to the Clink and HMP Brixton. Will come back for afternoon tea and hope that lovely Tim or his colleagues are working. And hope that I’m served by Tim again in the future!

What a fabulous experience! This culinary experience is a program for those chosen from the Brixton prison to participate in growing, cooking, and serving food to paying customers in order to provide a skill to utilize after their sentence is over. Reservations need to be 7 days in advance and require several security questions and a £15pp deposit. Several dining options are available. Lunch, afternoon tea, and Thursday night gourmet 3-course dinner, we chose the last option. You need to put belongings into a locker as no phones or personal items except for a credit card to pay are allowed. The photos included, except the one of me in my prison issued boots, were pulled off the internet. I made the mistake of wearing open toe sandals, which were not permitted, so I was issued standard prison issued boots to wear. You will go through a metal detector and pat down to enter. Once inside, it looks like any other restaurant. The food was very good. The appetizer was a king crab on a crumpets. The main dish was a paparadrlle of pork and mushrooms in brown gravy. Dessert was an English strawberry tart. Coffee and soft drinks are available at an additional cost. The cost per person was £47, but your £15 deposit is subtracted. Brixton is a men's prison, so all the culinary students are men. They were kind, funny, and happy to chat and seemed like servers from any restaurant. This was a great experience, and they have a few items for sale that help the clink charity. I bought the cook books and a bag. Pictures are included.

Unbelievable food at unbelievable prices. Such amazing quality (high end restaurant level) at casual dining prices. Dining room is lovely in a very different setting (HMP Brixton), and only on a Thursday. However, one of my best dining experiences. A high recommend

One of the most interesting dining experiences I have ever had. The extensive searching on the way in sets the tone and being taken through numerous locked gates. But the Roast lunch was really good, albeit the cutlery was plastic for safety reasons but the service was great. There is a specific time you leave so if you finish your meal early you just have to wait to be let out. All in all, worth a visit for the experience and the Roast!

The best Caribbean food I’ve ever had!!! The sea bass was cooked to perfection with so many amazing sauces. Ray and Jennifer are the loveliest people ❤️

This has to be the best west Indian Restaurant in Brixton the food is delicious. I had the boneless curry mutton which was fabulous with the rum punch which I had two glasses of the service was great and the place is small but very cosy and I would highly recommend it to friends and family..

The food was extremely flavoursome and seasoned throughout. A lovely take on authentic Caribbean cuisine. Wings were second to none, shrimps were juicy and perfectly cooked. Main and sides complemented each other beautifully and cocktail was vibrant and delicious, and as was picturesque, professional presentation. Hospitality was wonderful. Left feeling full and content. We’ll definitely be back soon!

The food was delicious, the quantities filling enough that we had to take some home. The jerk wings were spicy but amazing. Presentation is an A! Staff - polite and attentive. Definitely will go back again.

Nice Caribbean tapas place from the great owner of Fish Tings Wings .Brilliant quality food, prawns, wings, absolutely loved the fish, so nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked. Service was perfect, the place has got its own personality. Highly recommended.

We were just walking around and saw this place serving Caribbean Tapas , made us very curious to try it. It was really a great experience each dish was unique in flavor everything was very well seasoned. Each item had its own identity and flavor profile. I recommend you go with a couple of friends so you can ordered different things to try.

All the food is packed full of flavour! The jerk bbq sauce on the wings was unreal! The prawns were juicy and paired perfectly with their tamarind sauce. We would highly recommended this restaurant and will certainly be going back to try the rest of the menu. Reasonably priced too!

Really nice jamaican restaurant inside Brixton market alley. Good selection of food, amazing spicy prawns and plantain banana. Definetly recommend to stop there for some plates to share!

Dropped by here for lunch. Coxinha and chicken skewers were absolutely delicious and very well priced. Would absolutely recommend. Everything is freshly made and the owner is very friendly

Love the street food vibe! Reminds me of back home! Giovanni & Igor are super friendly and explain all the dishes! The best part is the dessert, the creme caramel!!! The balance between the sweet and slight bitterness of the caramel is out of this world!!

My Experience was a grated full one I was really impressed how the manager responded to me in avery relaxing way I feel like I was at home manager Sophia and the staff Megi they are very simpatico also the place where very. There was a short line when I got there but they were clearing tables fairly quickly. The okonomiyaki are authentic, just like the ones I had in Japan. Their menu looks really good and has a wide variety. I was tempted to order five things. The prices are reasonable. 11 pounds for an okonomiyaki. The staff was really friendly as well.

I love this place! I come over here as often as I can, and the curry udon is my favourite! I often travel for work and after a long haul flight have a meal here is my favourite treat and healing! Staff are very nice and friendly. I'd recommend anything on their menu, everything tastes amazing.

Amazing atmosphere in a very cute and comfortable decorative wooden setting and books on a shelf. Divided into two areas, one near the kitchen and on the bar side very bright and welcoming, the other more private inside. Absolutely fantastic and well balanced dishes to share. Kind and attentive service to our availability.

Completely amazed by the flavours of all the dishes I’ve tried. Everything was delicious, highly recommend this place specially if you want to try something different and unique.

The food was delicious, definitely go for the Prawn in Choux and the Double Raviolo. Special shout out to Jason who is wonderful, approachable and an asset to the restaurant. We will be back!

I had such a great late lunch/early dinner at La Nonna today. Tried the pasta fritta (served with a delicious arrabbiata mayo dip), Focaccia Al Rosmarino and Ricotta, aglio selvatico e nocciole (Creamy whipped ricotta, wild garlicpesto, hazelnuts) Absolutely delicious antipasti! This was followed by the Agnolotti burrata e tartufo (Burrata and truffle filled pasta with jerusalem artichoke) which was also supremely tasty. Service was so friendly and helpful. Cute decor. Great value. I will be back!

Beautiful pasta! Great service and reasonably priced. We had the focaccia and the whipped ricotta to start which was delicious. They gave us some free fried pasta chips because the bread wasn't quite baked yet. I had the cacio e pepe main and it was delicious, super creamy. When the bill came they had given us the focaccia for free because of the wait, which wasnt necessary but very generous nonetheless! Great place will definitely be back.

Oh mamma! This was the most incredible Italian food I’ve had outside of Italy. My friend and I went halvsies on the carbonara and the nduja mascarpone pastas, and they were both absolutely delicious. Very fresh, rich, heartwarming fare. We had some focaccia to start and it was still warm from the oven and deliciously soft and salty perfection. I didn’t think I had room for pudding but my friend wanted to try the tiramisú since this place is famous for it, and so of course I had to try some of hers - and ended up eating more than my half! It wasn’t too heavy, a perfect coffee and creamy ending to our meal. I’ll be back to La Nonna whenever I can’t make it back to my beloved Italy to try all their dishes. I understand there’s a bottomless pasta option which sounds ideal to try them all. It’s not a huge menu, but there’s something for everyone, and quality over quantity is the Italian way. So good and great staff ! The beef cheek stew with peas and rice was on point! If you love oxtails, make sure you try this dish. The cocktails hit the spot too… definitely making back to try something else on the menu since what I ate did not disappoint!!!

I'm so glad I finally came to Turtle Bay, we chose the brixton one. The atmosphere, and cleanliness was brilliant and the music made our brunch even lovelier. Danni was excellent, we couldn't of asked for better attention and service in general. And she makes the best cocktails I've had in ages 🍸 🍹 😋 I didn't really like my burger but my friend loved hers-so we will be coming back to try something else very soon

Have been here twice already and every time the food and service is wonderful. What you can't eat you can take home. The decor is relaxing and they play great music. I love the freshly made ginger beer. A hidden gem in Brixton

Great food, great drinks and fairly decent service. Servers were very friendly and the food was really good. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The new Christmas set menu is great price too, and includes a cocktail on either 2 course or 3. Overall really good time here. My only complaint, when it did get busy, we were forgotten about a tad. We had to try and catch waiters as they went past to reorder drinks etc. But they were very busy, looked like they could’ve used another waiter or two on a busy evening. Overall very enjoyable time, would return.

The food here is really nice. The place is located within Brixton Village, where you can eat in or alfresco. I'll definitely go here again. They also have two for one cocktails Sunday to Thursday aswell. The staff are very attentive. However, sometimes you may need to go looking for them as they are not always present.

What a great find , we were wandering through the market and found a space to sit here , the service was great staff so friendly, and helpful The food was amazing I had the ribs with Korean Sauce , the ribs were full of meat and the sauce just right , my wife had the BJ burger which was very moist and had lovely sauce and pickles My daughter had the crispy chicken which she said was lovely and crispy The whole meal came to £74 including drinks and service charge for 4 of us which we thought was very reasonable We would definitely return 😍

We went twice, we like the classic breakfast and the salmon bread, we didn't like the avocado bread/seňor it was vinegary or sth about it just wasn't right. We appreciate good hot chocolate and very nice environment. Waiting time was long.
