“The food was faultless - the crab starter was beautiful, my partner said the trout starter was the best trout he’d ever had and then the roast beef lunch was sensational. The young lady that served us was also lovely, so friendly and professional - refreshing. Would wholeheartedly recommend and this was my 234th Michelin meal so feel I can say that it was super! Credit to the team and a lovely pub setting”

“This is one amazing Oldie but Goldie pub filled up with interesting photos on over the walls and antiquity surroundings complete with outdoor seating and a smoking area. The food of which I had was the best steak & kidney pudding in my life and my misses had a huge pork succulent chop, both served with creamy mash and fresh veg, both were very plentiful and really delicious, hence the empty plates The service was fantastic including the young girl (well younger then me) was rushed off her feet, made you feel very welcomed and gave you and a busy restaurant 100%. This place was alight with happiness and that wasn't only due to a brilliant service, great food and good music but people were talking to each other and hardly to none mobile phones, people were polite with no weatherspoon type reckless regulars trying to get a cheap beer if you get my point and my favourite was this cozy corner with a log burner with two sofas that surrounded it to relax with a coffee to finish your meal. The toilets were lovely and clean and didn't smell at all which is just as important as the meal itself, the price was definitely worth it for what I paid which included two puddings and a couple of drinks. All in all I give this restaurant 10/10, worth the 45 min drive to get there were guaranteed return visit very soon.”

“Lovely cafe with good coffee and lunch menu. We were a large group of walkers ready for refreshments and service was excellent at short notice. The toasty was nicely presented and everyone in the group were happy with it. Area can be abit noisy due to acoustics but not too disturbing. Staff are friendly and helpful”

“My husband & I stayed at the lovely Duke of William for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. The staff, Adam in particular can't help enough and even went to the shops and got a bag of sweets for a friend as I was at a wedding most of the time so he did that for me. Amazing staff, lovely room, fabulous b/fast. The bar and restaurant was always full, incredibly welcoming for dogs and children as well.”

“We stayed here for my wife's birthday and we had a wonderful time. The staff really made us feel welcome and made every effort to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Our room was exceptional. The building itself is lovely as are the grounds it sits in. And the food in the restaurant was delicious with everything locally sourced where possible. Overall a lovely experience.”

“Nice little Indian restaurant in Wingham. The food and service was extremely good, the staff were also very thoughtful, helpful and efficient. Only really two minor negatives which absolutely would not stop me going again are, no parking and I just felt the restaurant could do with some more Indian decoration to give it that Asian feel. But honestly the food really was good plus well priced.”

“Fantastic village pub offering an extensive menu. I always liked visiting this pub; excellent food and it used to have a pub cat. 😻 Back for the first time in a couple of years, we didn’t book and were lucky enough to get last available table in the bar on a Saturday lunchtime. Food menu is extensive and portions are generous. Fantastic steak ciabatta with mushroom pate to start. Very nice. Big onion rings and chips on the side. Big specials menu as well. The beer was Krombacher. Rarely seen but a decent pils. No room for pudding this time, but excellent previously and one to have. Small car park but you can park in nearby streets if full; so not a deal breaker. Whole baked Camembert on the menu. That you like to see. Will have that next time for sure.”
