In my opinion, one of my best fine dining experiences ! Out of all these 1-2-3 star Michelin star restaurants that I have tried so far, this was definitely the best value for money. Can’t fault the service, enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, nice chats with the front of house lady and the chef. Food wise, they well accommodated my sister’s requirements. I can taste the hearts going into it! Every dish tasted nice and had creativity. Even the sidekick- home made bread was very impressive! And also the flow of the whole menu was nice, I mean it’s a common fault I find a lot of fine dining places make: each dish had its own character but they don’t go together. I certainly felt this menu was working really well together. Oh forgot to mention, the wine collection was also splendid! Will definitely be back!

We should celebrate restaurants like this because they are now a rarity. Very intimate setting coupled with very attentive and good service. The food in the kitchen is definitely worthy of a Michelin star, with several standout dishes such as the monkfish with bouillabaisse. If there was one thing to improve- the red wine is served at room temperature rather than 18 degrees. I hope they keep going, there is a lot of talent from this team!

Absolutely brilliant experience at Hide and Fox. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and the waitresses were superb. We went for the 8 course taster and there wasn't a single thing on there we didn't like. 100% will be coming back again soon!

What a wonderful place. We recently held a baby shower here for my sister and Dean and the team were absolutely great. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a little room to ourselves for the afternoon and ordered a selection of pizzas and sides as a buffet style, which were all delicious. The pub itself is absolutely stunning with so many unique old features. Great outside areas for when the sun is shining. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting or thinking of a unique venue for a special event.

My partner and i are near for the weekend and decided to come here for dinner. First impressions the whole place was beautifully decorated for christmas and overall had a very cosy feeling. All staff very friendly and welcoming, Dean our server was very attentive and made sure everything was okay for us. Food came out very quickly and was absolutely delicious, one of the best steak and ale pies we’ve had. Definitely worth the visit and would massively recommend!!!!

Just spent the night at Abbots Fireside as part of a 2 day hike. Great place. The building is amazing and so historical, and the staff (particularly the owner Dean) are extremely welcoming, friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend.

A lovely welcome from the team at Abbot's Fireside when arrived after a long walk from Canterbury. Our room was perfect and a hot bath much appreciated. The cooked breakfast was just what we needed before we set off again the next morning. Thank you.

Loved this place! If visiting Bridge (or nearby) I would definitely recommend it. The buttermilk chicken was delicious.

Roaring fireplace. People at the bar in wellies. Informal feeling. The countryside boy in me wanted to love it more. I will admit, it was some of the better pub food I have had for a while. Very hospitable. Good selection of wine too. It just didn’t feel either creative or innovative enough for a Michelin star. We shared the raw scallops and creamy muscles for starter and the glazed short rib for main with sides of creamy mash and cabbage. But for £250 with a lower end bottle of Italian wine, we both felt we’d had similar for less at gastro north London pubs. No fault with the food, just wonder if those in wellies just having pints and snacks at the bar got it right.

The locals must wonder what they did to deserve such a local restaurant. Serves exemplary one star cooking, with creative starters and generous meat sharing mains. Comfortable pub atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing food today! We went for Sunday lunch and the food was 10/10 - would 100% recommend, you won’t be disappointed. We had Sam serve us tonight and his attention to detail was brilliant! Top service and epic food! We’ll definitely be back - thank you!!

First time visiting the restaurant yesterday for a Sunday roast with friends. The food was incredible! I will definitely be returning and have already spread the word to family. Fabulous service by Sam as well, really attentive and knowledgeable - would 100% recommend 😊

We had a lovely stay and meal for my birthday. The food was fantastic and the service was spot on! Our room was lovely and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable too. My only gripe is with the voucher system. Having to tell the waitress we have our food included in the stay, after receiving the bill. I could see we were not the only ones with this issue. A note on the system would surely suffice. Thank you for a lovely evening and stay.

Had a wonderful meal with friends recently. The Sunday roast was absolutely delicious! Sam was our server and went above and beyond for us. Will definitely return and recommend it to others.

Been here several times for drinks and food. Great outdoors spot in summer, and a cosy atmosphere with the fires going in winter. Varied menu and helpful in accommodating dietary requirements. Food is great tasting and generous, with a well chosen wine selection. The pub itself has much going for it, with exposed beams and historic wall sections on show. Always a good range of ales and ciders.

The Griffins Head, Chillenden offers visitors a chance to drink and dine in one of the countries oldest buildings. It has a warm friendly atmosphere with delicious food, sadly not available on Mondays and Tuesdays. The beer selection could also be better, however there is more to offer that what can be seen. On the first Sunday of every month they hold a classic car gathering, with vintage vehicles attending from across Kent. In winter the fires are lit, providing atmosphere and warmth. In summer there's a covered area at the back and lovely beer garden at the front. There's also an outdoor BBQ/ grill for those leisurely summer days. The food varies from season to season, but offers a good selection. Waiting on food can vary depending on how busy it is, due to staffing. There are three main areas where you can dine, including a large table, seating up to about 14 people in a private room to the rear, with feature fireplace. Overall I highly recommend giving this historic country pub a try.

My partner and I had a Sunday Roast yesterday with our one year old boy. I called around lunchtime to check if they were serving a roast dinner at around 5pm (many pubs in the area stop serving food by 3pm, so we were delighted that they were serving food still and had space for us. We arrived at around 4.30pm and had a drink in the garden which was lovely and peaceful. Shorty after, a friendly young waitress came out to ask if we were ready to order food. I ordered the pork belly and my partner ordered the lamb. We asked about the size of the portion as we planned on giving our baby some of ours as he doesn't have a huge appetite. The waitress assured us that the portions were definitely big enough. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive. The portions were indeed very large and looked amazing. She also brought an extra plate for our baby. The food was hot and very tasty. You could buy two courses for £24, so we ordered a pudding too. It really was a beautiful meal which we all thoroughly enjoyed! The only small criticism was the Yorkshire pudding looked like it had come out of the freezer and wasn't very crispy, but not a big deal really. The pub itself is beautiful and the staff are attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend for a Sunday Lunch 😊

The food was exceptional as was the wine selection which included a number of English vineyards. We chose the â la carte menu and were very pleased with the choices. I suppose the only comment we would make is that it's basically a pub albeit an elevated one and the service reflects that. Which doesn't mean that anyone was rude - far from it - but there was a fair bit of shouting and loud talking in/out of the kitchen and up/down the bar. My expectation when paying £75pp is that the staff would perhaps be a little more circumspect but in no way did it detract from the absolutely amazing food.

We received a voucher for the Fordwich Arms tasting menu for Christmas from our daughters and had the meal yesterday evening. We also had the wine pairing. Every dish was wonderful. All the dishes were very flavourful and original. It is impossible to pick out a single one, but the chef seemed to have worked magic with all the seafood dishes. I was taken aback by them. The dessert, which was the Fordwich Arms take on a Snickers bar, was good fun. The wine parings were super and the sommelier (who was relatively new I understand) was pleasant and knowledgeable and gave a very detailed and clear description of the wine and its provenance and why he had chosen that particular wine for each dish. He made a substantial contribution to our enjoyment of the meal. It was a cold night, but there was a lovely big fire in the fireplace and we had a wonderful and relaxed time. I have a big appetite, but was really full at the end of the meal. If you are going to have the tasting menu, I recommend that you make sure you are pretty hungry when you arrive.

What an experience. 1st Michelin star restaurant we have been to and it did not disappoint. My daughter and son-in-law visit high end, Michelin restaurants a lot more than us and they said it was the best they have had. Well done to the team at The Fordwich Arms. Of course we had the taster menu. It was delicious. My wife wouldn't choose fish on any menu but she loved those dishes the best especially the oyster. We visited the Fordwich Arms about 20 years ago with my in-laws and it was great then. Pub hasn't changed much which is great. It has kept its old world charm. Service was lovely. Thank you. Went for lunch with friends- ordered basically everything on the menu- highlight were the brisket and the burnt ends, and the burger! Service was flawless- always checking in and being attentive - it’s the first time in a long time that I’ve had such good service! Hats off to (I’m sorry I think their hand was Bryan!) either way- fantastic food! Fantastic service and a great atmosphere. (Please excuse the picture! It all looked to good and we couldn’t wait start!)

It was brilliant here. The staff were very kind and helpful and the atmosphere and design was really nice. The American smash burger was delicious and the fries were also lovely. In addition there was a lot of variety on the menu and it all sounded delicious. Overall I highly recommend coming here and hope to come back.

With a side dish each, it was more than enough to fulfil and satisfy. PLUS + Authentic, unique, and eclectic menu. + The “Smokehouse BBQ Board” was delicious at a 4* level. Each cut of meat had a distinct flavourful seasoning. + The “Korean BBQ Sausage” was the most flavourful and tender sausage I have ever had! + The “Cowgirl Salad” was at a 5* level. A dynamic crunch of fresh and crispy vegetables coated in a soy marinade, perfectly balanced with orange slices. + The “Award Winning Cherry Bbq St Louis Char Siu Ribs” tasted like an award, with its unique sweet and savoury flavour. + The “Spicy Miso Ramen” was just ok as it was bland but plentiful, table of two consensus. + The “Bao Doughnut” was a must try! Very good meal, the drink selection was good and the service was excellent. The star is lost as £16 for the roast although good quality was steep for the quantity of food received. The dessert selection on the Sunday menu was quite limited which meant none of our group had dessert. The Cajun chicken burger a member of our group had looked amazing and got a good review from him. I would choose this if I went on a Sunday again.

First visit here. Went for a celebration and it was 'Steak night'. Quite busy for a Tuesday, booking highly recommended. Despite an open fire, it wasn't the warmest of places. Great food 😋 Great service 👏 Will be going again soon 👍

We got there on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I ve ordered a ribeye and it looked mostly like a fillet. It was ok, over cooked but I couldn’t send it back as we were in a hurry, triple cooked chips were dry and empty inside, too crunchy. Prawns were my favourite, they were lovely. The burger was lovely too with the french fries.. The waitress was so lovely and friendly, and the atmosphere was cosy and awesome.. I ll definitely go back
