This is a pub and restaurant you have to visit when you visit Hever Castle or are in the area. It’s just a short scenic walk from the castle grounds and everything about it is notable. The candle lit tables and fireplaces in the pub and restaurant areas of the iconic building make for a cozy atmosphere to have a great evening out. When the weather is nice, there is patio seating as well. The food and drinks are great and we love the staff! We’ll see you on our next family trip from the US.

Great pub with fantastic layout and atmosphere. Best place to eat when in the Hever area. Definitely make a reservation if you plan on dining in. Live the area towards beer garden. Impressive interior . Staff were cool and friendly approach. Btw thats the only pub in area which has a long history same like Hever Castle.

Stunning pub set close to Hever Castle. We had their turkey dinner which was totally amazing! Great service and atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back when we visit the UK. It’s also a must see around Christmas!

We had the pleasure of visiting this incredible pub on Bank Holiday Monday, and it truly exceeded our expectations. Despite arriving with a group of nine without a reservation, we were seated promptly, which was a wonderful start to our experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment we walked in. Our food arrived in good time, and we were thoroughly impressed by the presentation – every dish was beautifully crafted. And yes, the taste lived up to the appearance – absolutely delicious! If you find yourself near Hever Castle, I highly recommend stopping by this pub for lunch. The beer selection is fantastic, with a great variety of ales available. With ample parking, it's a convenient and delightful choice for a meal. Overall, I would rate our experience a perfect 10/10.

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst visiting the area. Cannot speak highly enough of the standard of our room, the excellent food and drinks, location and the hosts were so friendly and welcoming. We had a really enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

Just had a 2 night stay here with in-laws. We all enjoyed our stay here and it was very convenient for all the places we wanted to visit. Made to feel very welcome and all the meals were amazing. Thank you Caroline

Bed was in wrong position not near any plugs, other then that room was perfectly. Staff was amazing they was very polite and professional. Breakfast was great good selection of food. Location was great for what we needed.

Just popped in for some food with a pal, first time visitors who are very pleased with the food and service. Has a very cozy and home like environment which helps to create a lovely atmosphere. Also dog friendly.

Fantastic pub with friendly staff and cheesy chips done right- mozzarella not cheddar! Paul at the bar always makes us feel like we belong, service comes with a smile (and a healthy amount of friendly banter). Will keep coming back, keep it up, all.

Fantastic local pub with amazing food and great service. Ended up visiting as we were staying in the village and it was the only place serving food nearby. Turns out we ran into a goldmine, surrounded by locals we immediately felt a part of the community. Looking at the menu options were minimal but had everything you could want (for somewhere I imagine doesn’t get too crowded i understand why having many items would be a bad business decision). Me and my friend both ordered the 10oz burgers with fries and a side of onion rings. IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!! possibly the best burger I’d ever eaten (and I’ve had some fancy burgers in my life). For a local pub in a small village it blew us away serving food that outperforms even the big dogs of the food industry. Excellent experience and a great way to end our week long holiday.

Just popped in with our Cockapoo for a cheeky pint. What a lovely pub, couldn’t really fault it. So rare to find a proper pub where the staff are so friendly. Prices very reasonable, log fire lovely. Thank you all sooo much. We’ll be back when the weather improves for some grub ❤️👍

If you're looking for a cozy country pub with amazing food, you have to check out The Fountain Inn at Cowden Village. I have had dinner here three times this year. This time brought whole family over. The food here is top notch.  And the price is very reasonable for this quality of food. This village pub got that perfect rustic vibe with comfy seating , warm atmosphere and relaxing garden. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. Thank you Fern and Nigel. We will definitely visit this pub again.

This pub serves traditional pub food and for those that want something a little bit more special their blackboard specials will offer you some Thai favourites and a good selection of fish and meat dishes. All tried and tested favourites so why do I always go for the pie of the day? Probably because it’s always delicious and packed with flavour! We recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible Indian restaurant, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and welcoming staff made us feel right at home. The meal was absolutely divine. Each dish was beautifully prepared, bursting with authentic flavors and spices. The butter chicken was creamy and rich, with just the right amount of spice, while the onion baji was perfectly crispy and seasoned. The naan was soft, warm, and complemented the curries perfectly. We also tried the biriyani, which was fragrant, flavorful, and one of the best we’ve had. What really stood out was the attention to detail — every dish had its own distinct taste and was clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was served piping hot. On top of the delicious food, the service was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and more than happy to offer suggestions when we weren’t sure what to order. Their knowledge and passion for the cuisine added to the overall experience. We drove two hours to get here and I wasn’t mad! What a lovely dining experience from start to finish. The food is as good as it looks in the photos. The decor is updated and contemporary and the service attentive, friendly and prompt. If you love Indian food don’t miss QT.

Very good Indian restaurant, with a lot of various Indian recipes. Fine and hearty dishes. Don't hesitate to push open the door, because from the outside the windows look tinted, so you might think it's closed; but in fact the atmosphere inside is hushed and calm.

Turned up without booking and the guys very kindly accommodated us despite being very busy. Food was top class and staff super friendly. Very clean and lovely atmosphere.

Quite a find. A pub that is busy midweek which has excellent service and a nicely priced lunch menu which isn't trying to be pretentious. They seem to do the sort of pub food people want to eat. The sandwiches were good and not over facing or overpriced. The bar had a smattering of chatty regulars and it was what I thing a local pub should be like. We enjoyed our lunch here and will be back.

Great country pub with a mixture of local agricultural community and visitors from Hever Castle etc. There’s a large garden with kids play area which is great for families. As a traditional pub you can just turn up and drink but if you’re hungry the food is typical pub fare; good meals and healthy portions. You’ll certainly not leave hungry!

Full of charm, staff are really good wholesome people. The food is amazing, real simple quality food executed well. Great selection of beers and an open fire. Would recommend highly for a pint or meal. Will definitely return time and time again when I’m in the area.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. My family and I celebrated Christmas lunch here, and everything exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredibly accommodating, the food was exceptional, and the portion sizes were generous. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect setting for our gathering. With a party of 18, we were all thoroughly impressed by the outstanding service. A big thank you to the entire team for working so hard on Christmas Day. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful pub in Oxted. Smiley staff, beautiful location and child friendly. I had fish and chips and it was such a delicious batter. I took a picture after I started as it looked mouth watering.

Our 4th midweek winter lunch in 3 years. Hopefully there will be many more. We drive 30 miles to make the visit and it is definitely worth the hour travel time (one way). An early lunch slot avoids a well occupied car park. Same manager since our first lunch. Confident, well mannered and attentive. Booking a table in advance is worthwhile.

We visit the Grumpy Mole on a regular basis and one of the great things about it is the consistency- of food, of service- so you know you are always going to get value for money. Today we tried the Filet steak on the stone, a lovely treat. The steak keeps cooking so that you can get it to exactly your preference. It's a beautiful setting too, and today we sat outside looking across the fields in the sunshine: glorious!

Visited recently for a lunchtime business meeting. The outdoor veranda over the lake is absolutely stunning. The backdrop of the golf course and the lake make a perfect relaxed environment for any lunchtime occasion. Our group had a selection of light bites, all of which were very tasty. Staff and fellow customers are super friendly. We will definitely be back

Brought the family to the Little Brown Jug to celebrate the mrs birthday and what a treat it was. The outside huts are well worth the money, being heated inside we took our time to enjoy our meal in privacy whilst the little ones played in the garden swings and slide. Service was amazing, the gentleman serving us was exceptional and catered to our every need, nothing was too much. An absolutely lovely pub that lives up to the hype. I’d heard about The Little Brown Jug for a while as one of the best pubs in the Kent area but hadn’t made it over there so me and my girlfriend jumped in the car and road tripped it up. It’s fair to say the pub lives up to its impeccable reputation. In a beautiful location with surrounding countryside and hills. The food is absolutely amazing with very generous portions with a warm, spaciously comfortable and buzzing atmosphere that makes you feel you’re in countryside nirvana. The pub also has a seamless team of staff who were always attentive but at no point overwhelming, and all of whom were good humoured, friendly and welcoming, with no delays in their smooth service. Ollie in particular was brilliant. It’s a must visit. Especially for any fans of food, drink, beautiful walks and country drives.

My partner and I visited this pub whilst we stayed at a local air bnb. We called ahead for a recommendation for a cab and Molly provided us with two options. The pub was lovely and quiet for the time and day we chose, Joel kindly offered us the corner table next to the fire which he lit for us as well. The interior was beautifully decorated and the outside looks amazing for warmer weather! Even still it looked as though they offered hot water bottles for outside. The service was relaxed and casual from the waitress Molly which was nice to not be fussed for that evening to have some privacy. The music was not suiting the vibe of the cosy interior, so we only asked Joel to turn it down just a touch- which he did happily but as well as that he changed the playlist to more jazz like music which was a lovely surprise! Molly did later changed it back to a more upbeat playlist not realising why Joel had changed it haha but it was slow mamma mia that time so it wasnt as bad. The food was absolutely amazing- the best Mac and cheese I have ever had at a restaurant before and Im a big lover of Mac! My partner only wishes his sausages to have been cooked a bit more. Otherwise we had an absolutely amazing evening for my 25th so thankyou! We would absolutely be regulars if we were not a 2 hour drive away!

I had a warm welcome when I arrived and my daughter loved playing in the play area. The staff were very accommodating. The meal was very generous on the portion size and also tasty. It was a lovely atmosphere.

What a great visit. The pub is beautiful with lovely outdoor seating and inside very nice. Staff very friendly and attentive and lady serving us was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious and worthy of the high reviews which is why we picked this place. I had the lamb which was amazing and highly recommend and the sticky toffee pudding which was very yummy. Highly recommend this place and would come again.

Such a lovely venue, decor is authentic and it's a huge place with many different spaces including a secret garden. Would be fab for hosting an event. The menu had not been updated on the website so three of our party were disappointed that there was no banoffee pie. But not the end of the world. I ordered the bavette steak, medium rare. It came rare but I didn't want to interrupt the meal by sending it back. It was disappointing as not to my preference and the brandy peppercorn sauce seemed to be split, it wasn't thick instead watery. Flavour was fine. Service was also fine, little things like having to ask for steak knives detracted from the basic service that you would expect in an establishment like this. Mu sister had the hake which was quite a small portion. My dad had the fish pie which he enjoyed. Did like that they're dog friendly and recieved a warm welcome when we arrived. Staff were nice.
