Jaslicking Seafood Boil, Kent

“The food here is so flavoursome! We absolutely loved getting stuck into the seafood with all the tools and gloves and bibs. There’s a really nice mixture of seafood/sausage and corn and potatoes so it’s a well rounded meal. We had a queen bowl between two of us, we probably could have eaten just a little more but it is a really decent portion. There aren’t a lot of side options so maybe some better sides would help to complete everything. The food blew us away but the service let us down a bit. We were a group of 8 so I appreciate that it’s a big table but there was only ever one other table of 2 in at the same time as us. It took forever for us to get drinks and a lot of them just didn’t come out so we had to keep asking. There was also ads playing in between the playlist which was awkward! The restaurant is really quite basic, there’s not a lot of colour or design to it but the food is amazing so I would definitely recommend it! It’s also just really nice to see something a bit different and independent in Maidstone.”

“On my visit it was very quiet with the bar staff chatting with a friend on a table in the corner. He served me and we had a good chat over my favoured beer styles and what they had on draft and available in cans. After I had been served 3 x third pints, I dat and was included in the general conversation. The sort of craft beer bar I love.”

“So glad that this bar is doing well as we've seen bars come and go in this arcade. Great dirty burgers and chips at good prices, just be aware it can take a while. Friendly staff and fantastic to have a bar playing a great selection of rock music.”

“I had dinner with my friends here and it was brilliant. The food was all delicious and hot, we had seven dishes between three of us and two side plates of bread and it was just right! “Went for our wedding anniversary a week ago, had been years since we'd been so was nice to go again. Our food was mostly perfect with the exception of the Seabass, which was slightly over cooked and the plate was served with sauce over the sides. My Sole was fantastic, as was the rabbit tart, blue cheese and walnut salad and our Tart au citroens. We were given the choice of where we wanted to sit by a well-dressed gentlemen who couldn't have been nicer. A couple of gripes, though! If you want a soft drink then there is no drink menu for this and when asked it was Coke, lemonade, rhubarb press and one other which I can't remember. All again with lemonade if we wanted. I'd seen ginger ale and others in the fridge later on but was a bit disappointed not to be told this. Also, when our cutlery was cleared by the same waiter after our mains, he just put the cutlery in the middle of the table for us to sort ourselves. Little things may be, but make all the difference on a special night. Would definitely recommend and go back but won't be in a massive rush.”
