“So glad that this bar is doing well as we've seen bars come and go in this arcade. Great dirty burgers and chips at good prices, just be aware it can take a while. Friendly staff and fantastic to have a bar playing a great selection of rock music.”

“A lovely old pub with exposed beams & cockerel decor. Was impressed with the gluten free menu as there was a lot of choice which you don’t always get in other pubs.”

“Always a good steak here. Don’t think the over all service or setting quite makes it a knock out 5* but the food none the less was great. I saw my wine and soft drink sat on the bar for ages before being put at the table so given was a table clearly in sight I’d have liked to see a quicker delivery and simple no ice require at but getting ice just makes the 5* experience down to a 4. But that’s petty. Food was really nice however, the same green/cress dressing really doesn’t need to be on all dishes. Halloumi nibble, the starter and main blessed with it. Seriously why are all restaurants doing this nowadays, just gets frustrating as adds almost no value. Anyway I get distracted. Like I say, food was really nice for a lunch so can’t complain”

“What a phenomenal meal and experience. Every bite from the bruschetta to pasta dishes and bread with garlic oil and finishing off with the most delicious rum bata with coconut gelato was delectable. The restaurant itself it so smart and fun with a fantastic dining soundtrack that gets you tapping your toes and humming along. Service was great and definitely we will be coming back and bringing the whole family.”

“Staff - friendly and accommodating. Took us as walk ins, and sat us away from the crowd as we had a sleeping baby with us. Food - served quickly and perfectly at lunch time. A french omelette and chips, amazing. Only personal improvement - could have had more blue cheese melted into it! Ha. Also, the pastries are heavenly. Well done and thank you.”

“My wife and I wanted to try something different when we went out for dinner on Saturday night and this place didn't disappoint. The staff were lovely. The food was delicious. The decor and music was traditional Bulgarian. Good pricing on the food too. We only stayed for food but next time we go back we would like to say for Entertainment, traditional singing and dancing”

“The best fish & chips I've had for a long time, slightly cheaper than others. So tasty, fish delicious with amazing batter. Chips long, thick & yummy. Definitely worth a visit any time of day, cooked freshly as you wait, well worth it. Few parking spaces out front, chairs inside for waiting which at most is 15 mins, but fine because the taste is sensational 👌”

The Herbalist

Phone: 01622 687723
“Great place ,I really enjoyed the cocktails! The food was delicious and delivered in good time ,I didn't feel we was waiting too long. We couldn't fit in a pudding (which is surprising for me because I'm a pig !) ,but they did look delicious! They have a great selection of cocktails 🍸, the only downfall for me was it was very noisy ,but that's what you get in a large restaurant....I just find it quite alot and of you are someone who struggles with that you may want to request a quieter spot in the corner or something”

Spice Lounge
118 Heath Rd, Coxheath, Maidstone ME17 4PN, UK
Phone: 01622 747622
“We recently visited Spice Lounge in Coxheath, and while it didn’t blow us away, it offered a pleasant evening overall. The food was decent, with a few highlights. We tried the Chicken Tikka Masala (Madras Hot), Chicken Tikka Dhansak, and the Chicken Chadga – the latter being a house special. The Chadga stood out with its vindaloo-level heat balanced by layered flavors that offered more than just spice/heat. The rest of the dishes were nice, nothing extraordinary but also nothing to criticise. The service, however, was excellent. The waiters were polite, attentive, and friendly, striking the perfect balance of being helpful without interrupting conversations. It made the meal feel relaxed and enjoyable. The ambiance was comfortable, with pleasant music and tasteful decor that added to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the restaurant's single toilet, located near the dining area, detracted from the experience. It felt awkwardly placed and a little intrusive, which could use some rethinking. Overall, Spice Lounge provided good value for money. The friendly service and solid house special make it worth a visit if you're in the area. Rating: 4.4 out of 6 Six Poppadoms Please #6PP”
