“Owners are amazing. Really helpful and friendly. They asked for honest feedback with the food and will recommend the best dishes. It is a really fun way to spend time with friends and family. Very fun cooking the different meats. Also very cheap but we left a big tip.”

“It's a lovely place to stay, conveniently located near the EuroTunnel. Charming but modern rooms with a very cozy pub downstairs. All the staff were incredibly sweet and welcoming, and the service was above and beyond. We had an amazing breakfast in the morning. Our only regret is that we weren't there early enough to enjoy dinner. We would absolutely stay here again.”

Stubbs Restaurant
Canterbury Rd, Kennington, Ashford TN25 4DU, UK

“A fantastic family favourite with excellent food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere, we visit at least once a week! Stubbs is hands down our favourite restaurant, and it's no surprise that we make a point of visiting at least once a week. The combination of excellent food, friendly staff, and a wonderful setting makes it a place we always look forward to returning to. What sets Stubbs apart is the consistently high quality of everything on the menu. Whether you’re looking for fish, lobster, steak, or a burger, every dish is faultless and always cooked to perfection. The cocktails and Guinness are always served exactly as they should be. One of the things we appreciate most is that you can order anything off the menu and know it will always be nice. The staff are another reason we keep coming back. Eva, the main hostess, deserves a special mention for the warm and welcoming impression she gives at the entrance. She works incredibly hard to ensure that every guest is happy, and her efforts don’t go unnoticed. Lucio, one of the waiters, is always cheerful, professional, and friendly, making every meal even more enjoyable. While Stubbs can get extremely busy even on weekdays, it’s not uncommon to see every table full, along with several large groups of twelve or more people. We’ve dined here both as a couple and as a family, and even though weekends can be noisy and bustling, (my youngest prefers the quieter weekday visits.) However, we are always happy to dine here, no matter the day, as there’s always a great mix of people and families. A standout feature of Stubbs is the absence of any "discretionary" service charge, which we often see added to the bill at some other restaurants. We always try to tip the staff generously because we recognise how hard they work under pressure to ensure everything runs smoothly in such a busy environment but it's so nice for you to have the choice of your own. When choosing foor our favourites are the starters of brie and toast, and tempura prawns, followed by the steak with peppercorn sauce and the Blues Burger often with a side of lobster. For dessert, we often choose choclate cake or the ice cream with brandy snap basket. We have also tried many cocktails here and the Mojito is one of our favourites. Whenever we've had a challenging week, we head straight to Stubbs for a meal that never fails to lift our spirits and round off the week on a high note. We can’t wait for our next visit!”

“I absolutely loved this pub. We arrived in the village after a 4 hour hike wanting a cosy place to rest and recuperate and boy did this place deliver. Just big enough that there are various nooks to relax in but small enough to have instant atmosphere when you walk in. A giant log fireplace in the back dining room is really special and all the staff are super friendly and keen to help. We had the Fish and Chips which were excellent with really substantial portions. I'm so glad we picked this pub.”

“I recently enjoyed a Christmas menu meal with some friends, and it was a wonderful experience.I was happy with the delicious vegan options on the menu and my friends thoroughly enjoyed their non vegan options. The food was cooked very well. The waitresses were attentive, cheerful, and incredibly helpful, ensuring we all felt welcome and well taken care of even with my requests of extra gravy! Each course arrived quickly at the perfect time, with no rush but a lovely flow to the evening. We all had a fantastic time.”

Designer Outlet Ashford

“The Ashford Designer Outlet is a fantastic shopping destination, offering a wide variety of stores, real bargains, and a pleasant overall experience. Located just off the M20, it’s easily accessible and well-designed to cater to both local shoppers and those traveling from further afield. One of the highlights of this outlet is the great selection of shops. There are a wide range of high-end and popular high-street brands, from fashion to homeware, all offering discounted prices. Whether you’re looking for designer clothing, sportswear, shoes, or gifts, you’re likely to find something that catches your eye. The discounts are substantial, with many items offering savings of up to 70% off, making it a haven for bargain hunters. Brands such as Ralph Lauren, Nike, Calvin Klein, and many more are well-represented, and there’s something for every style and budget. The layout of the outlet is another standout feature. The design is spacious, with plenty of room to move between stores, even during busy weekends. It’s arranged in a circular pattern, making it easy to navigate without feeling overwhelmed. You can stroll leisurely without needing to retrace your steps. Additionally, the covered walkways are a great touch, providing shelter from the elements while still enjoying the open-air shopping experience. Parking is ample and well-organized, with a large car park that accommodates many visitors. Despite the outlet’s popularity, finding a parking space has never been an issue during my visits. The car park is just a short walk from the main shopping area, which is convenient for anyone carrying multiple bags of bargains. The cleanliness of the outlet is also noteworthy. From the walkways to the restrooms, everything is maintained to a high standard. There are staff frequently seen tidying up, and it’s clear that cleanliness is a priority here. This attention to detail contributes to the overall pleasant shopping experience, making the outlet feel welcoming and well-cared for. Ashford Designer Outlet also offers plenty of places to take a break from shopping, with a good selection of cafés and restaurants scattered throughout. Whether you’re in the mood for a coffee, a quick snack, or a more substantial meal, there are options to suit all tastes. Overall, Ashford Designer Outlet provides a great combination of diverse shopping options, significant discounts, a convenient layout, and clean, well-maintained facilities. It’s an ideal place for a day of shopping, whether you’re hunting for a specific item or just browsing for bargains.”
