“First time since this new establishment opened. Came on a Friday night just after 5 pm and was already busy within the first 30 minutes. Highly recommend the rice bowl and noodles dishes. Ask the staff what spice level you want so you don't get blown away by the kimchi”

“What a lovely little place! Booked a table with ease most likely not required of a weekday evening which was our experience. Upon arrival greeted and seated with choice there was about half of tables occupied. Drinks menus supplied first and we chose a cocktail and beer each. Delicious cocktails and fast service. Once drinks were taken we were given food menu's and spoilt for choice. Having both been to Thailand and enjoy the variation of food we felt spoilt for choice. We chose two dishes to share one being a curry we opted for the jungle curry and a chicken because you dish with fresh vegetables. We selected a vermicelli noodle dish to accompany this as we saw it on another table being served and were not disappointed with our choices. Food potions are generous and more than enough share. We also chose tom yum soup and sweetcorn fritters which are a favourite of ours. We had no complaints about the food and loved how fresh and tender the meat was in all the dishes. Having limited options for thai and Asian food in Ashford this place is a hidden little gem out of town. It's most certainly worth a visit and we shall be back. The dishes were not overly spicy and I would say are pallet accessible for people who cannot or do not like spicy food. We spoke with the lovely waiters who were just the nicest of people with smiles and lovely communication. It's very clear that they enjoy working there. We asked if on our next visit would it be possible to request our dishes a little more spicy which they said wouldn't be a problem. We both love spicy food on occasion and recall enjoyable experiences from our visits to Thailand. I love pad preaw wan which is a sweet and sour style dish which we didn't get as I wanted to try other dishes. The Tom Yum soup was one of the nicest I've had not too spicy and full of rich flavour it's most certainly not something that's made from a packet obviously but as a traditional soup dish goes it's typically made and served in a big pot. The flavour was really enjoyable. We most certainly over ordered but we did manage to eat almost everything. Having lived in London and being spoilt for choice it's great to start seeing good authentic and great quality restaurants pop up around Ashford now. Parking wise there's a few spots outside and more a short walk away which was free. The toilets were spotless and had accessible facilities including wheelchair and parents facilities. This venue is accessible for wheelchairs and those who may have mobility issues as it's step free including in all areas of the restaurant. Service was fast and all dishes were served with warm plates. The attention to detail wasn't missed the cutlery and service ware was beautiful and very elegant. I don't typically do in-depth reviews but feel this place has given a lot of thought and deserves it. We have also tried their order and delivery service before we decided to visit the restaurant. We enjoyed it and think their dishes travelled well but you cannot beat an in-dining experience. Most certainly worth a date night, celebration or just evening out. Food price wise I would say value for money and not expensive. £10-12 a dish and fish dishes around £14-15 I was impressed with the value.”

“We stayed up the road from this lovely, old and quirky village pub. The food was amazing and the service excellent. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome and didnt feel out of place there with the locals. The lady behind the bar in particular was so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. We would highly recommend this pub either for a drink or to eat if you are staying in the area.”

“This pub is a hidden gem. It is walking distance from the outlet shopping centre and fairly close to the Centre of Ashford. You wouldn't know it on approach but this pub has a serene riverside beer garden, traditional seating inside and a new (at time of writing) play area for kids. The food was excellent. We stopped for a lunchtime snack. Between us we had a fish finger wrap, a sausage baguette and the Cajun chicken and bacon salad. The salad was amazing with tender and flavoursome chicken. The staff were friendly, calm and couldn't be more helpful.”

“I recently enjoyed a Christmas menu meal with some friends, and it was a wonderful experience.I was happy with the delicious vegan options on the menu and my friends thoroughly enjoyed their non vegan options. The food was cooked very well. The waitresses were attentive, cheerful, and incredibly helpful, ensuring we all felt welcome and well taken care of even with my requests of extra gravy! Each course arrived quickly at the perfect time, with no rush but a lovely flow to the evening. We all had a fantastic time.”

Stubbs Restaurant

“A fantastic family favourite with excellent food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere, we visit at least once a week! Stubbs is hands down our favourite restaurant, and it's no surprise that we make a point of visiting at least once a week. The combination of excellent food, friendly staff, and a wonderful setting makes it a place we always look forward to returning to. What sets Stubbs apart is the consistently high quality of everything on the menu. Whether you’re looking for fish, lobster, steak, or a burger, every dish is faultless and always cooked to perfection. The cocktails and Guinness are always served exactly as they should be. One of the things we appreciate most is that you can order anything off the menu and know it will always be nice. The staff are another reason we keep coming back. Eva, the main hostess, deserves a special mention for the warm and welcoming impression she gives at the entrance. She works incredibly hard to ensure that every guest is happy, and her efforts don’t go unnoticed. Lucio, one of the waiters, is always cheerful, professional, and friendly, making every meal even more enjoyable. While Stubbs can get extremely busy even on weekdays, it’s not uncommon to see every table full, along with several large groups of twelve or more people. We’ve dined here both as a couple and as a family, and even though weekends can be noisy and bustling, (my youngest prefers the quieter weekday visits.) However, we are always happy to dine here, no matter the day, as there’s always a great mix of people and families. A standout feature of Stubbs is the absence of any "discretionary" service charge, which we often see added to the bill at some other restaurants. We always try to tip the staff generously because we recognise how hard they work under pressure to ensure everything runs smoothly in such a busy environment but it's so nice for you to have the choice of your own. When choosing foor our favourites are the starters of brie and toast, and tempura prawns, followed by the steak with peppercorn sauce and the Blues Burger often with a side of lobster. For dessert, we often choose choclate cake or the ice cream with brandy snap basket. We have also tried many cocktails here and the Mojito is one of our favourites. Whenever we've had a challenging week, we head straight to Stubbs for a meal that never fails to lift our spirits and round off the week on a high note. We can’t wait for our next visit!”

“Seven of us turned up to this busy place without a booking and the guys couldn't do enough for us. Service was a little slow for our mains, but they were well worth the wait. Most of us had the ribs and wings platter....these were enormous portions and they ribs were smoky and delicious, as were the wings. Would definitely come back again!”

The Tickled Trout

“Experienced the Tickle Trouts roast dinner today, and happy to say its a solid choice for a Sunday dinner. Portion sizes could be more generous for the money. For £20, you'd expect more than 2 roast potatoes. But nevertheless, it all tastes nice. Bacon wrapped stuffing was delicious. Service was great, fast and attentive. Star of the pub is the location. Couldn't find a better beer garden in the local area.”
