A lovely bar in Maidstone selling great food also. Visited on Thursday night which wasn’t very busy so had our pick of which table to sit at. Ordered burger & fries. Was absolutely delicious. & finished it off with a Tinkie winkie cocktail in a skull glass. Rock music playing in the background & lots of skull decor.

We had dinner at The Albion Inn this evening. We were grateful we’d booked as the downstairs area was very busy. The service was perfect, helpful, friendly but not overbearing … just right. The menu has bar snacks and mains, it’s small but presents a difficult choice as it all sounded good. We opted for the chicken schnitzel burger and the pork stew. Both were very tasty and portion sizes were just right. (Looking at what others ordered, the fish and lamb also looked very nice, as did the bar snacks we saw) For pudding we opted for Melva pudding and Chocolate Brownie (again, just a few choices but all sounded good) Both puddings were a lovely way to finish off the meal. If you want good food, served in a pleasant and friendly way… this place is where you should go. We will be back 👍😊

Best roast around and really reasonably priced. Always great service. I only put 4 for atmosphere because it never feels booked up and busy upstairs which is mad because it really is brilliant food, drink and service. We did a lovely 5k walk the 'Linton circular' beforehand then jumped in the car for 3 mins for a post walk roast. Would definitely reccommend.

We don't get to go for a Roast often, but when we do, we visit the Albion. The food is incredible. The best scotch egg and Roast we've had. The staff were attentive and they managed to get us booked in really last minute. The only criticism - was not the food - but we did notice the chefs huge and uncovered beard. Might be worth addressing hygiene before someone complains of a hair in their food!

What a fantastic find. The food was delicious from starters to dessert. The fillet for mains was particularly good. Bar and waiting staff are really friendly and we even got the chance to meet the chef, who talked us through what he was serving. We had the set meal, which was good value, and a few drinks - there's a lot of local stuff on (we had a local gin and a local ale). I cannot recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be back.

2024 October Review NEW AND UPDATED Back again at the Stile Bridge, with the previous chef who departed 6 months ago, it has been time to try the new menu again. At a glance the new menu has inspirations from Asian cuisine slashed with British classics. A very good choice for all palates of flavours. To start, the house bread and oils, the Focaccia style bread was delicious , crispy, fluffy and tasteful, most perfect bread you could ask for to start. The lamb meatballs, had an Indian inspired taste coated in crispy panko, I actually thought the additional aioli style sauce was not needed. Next up was the boneless chicken wings which was a let down, with its dry flavour, baseless and bland texture it felt like the wing was absolutely battered and butchered to create this flattened pancaked wing. Mains : Chicken salad - chicken was super juicy and tasteful, with a salad which isn’t drenched in dressing, the perfect amount for a main dish, with expedited pickles which were fab, and well seasoned dish. Pork sirloin, juicy, cooked well rather tender as welland had great accompaniments with it, the jus was flavourful and hit the spot. Scallops, cooked well, fresh, and plenty of spark. Overall the Stile Bridge did not disappoint again, will be back, and loved the service. Truly so far still one of my top recommendations for restaurants in Kent. Best for those who actually have an eye for food and an open palate. NOT for your typical boring clientele. 2023 Review - A MUST TRY hidden Resturant in the country side of Kent Food Quality 4.7/5 Presentation 4.5/5 Price 4.6/5 Service 4.7/5 Atmosphere / Ambiance 4.2/5 Stilebridge offers an South American fusion with British cuisine, utilising fresh and local ingredients of Kent and East Sussex. It is a show stopper of a restaurant to visit if you are in Kent. compared to other restaurants within Kent, which serves typical British classics and other delicate British style dishes it is good to see a pub serving a different variety of food from around the world, being a Michelin guide recommendation, the Stilebridge is certainly a place that is well worth on the Michelin guide. The food I would describe it as light South American heavily infused with British twist, this is definitely done to please the pallets of local clientele within Kent which are known for having less adventurous pallets, but as an individual who thrives on flavour, exoticNess and wonder, this may also be the place for you as it is especially for me it is. The octopus and pork belly was fragrance, light and packed full of simplistic flavours, which hit each flavour on the tongue perfectly. Had a small cake which enhances the flavour of the dish., I would say the octopus is a touch over done when I had it, but the pork belly was cooked perfectly. The lamb rump was cooked to perfection, after talking to the chef, and knowing that it was a dry aged lamb from Romley Marsh? Very well with the potato jus accompanying it very well with its lights and arrogant flavours. I would have liked more of the sweet potato jus upon my dish, the lentils works. Well I would’ve liked a bit more than those as well. The Korean style, Bimbap works well for local clienteles pallets, however, I would have preferred it a lot more crispy rice at the bottom of the bimbap, after discussing it with the chef, who was very polite and friendly, it was understandable why it was done in such a way. The side dishes of the potato, Bravas and the pickled salad was a very nice for the compliment to my main protein dishes. Overall, the Stilebridge is a great restaurant you should visit, as a reviewer, I never eats anywhere five stars restaurant wise, however, with my own personal recommendation, I recommend a rate Stilebridge very highly and would be back again to try the other menu items. I would love to see more South American dishes because it’s hard to find authentic dishes done right utilising British local projects which I highly enjoy. My compliments to the chef. Thank you

Sometimes, the most unexpected places hold true gems, and this restaurant is a shining example. The food here is simply superb, and it's no surprise that they are featured in the Michelin Guide. Despite the restaurants unassuming exterior, don't let that deter you—the experience is absolutely worth it. The quality of the dishes and the culinary expertise showcased here far surpasses any initial judgments based on appearances. The staff are also very friendly. Don't miss out on this hidden treasure.

A lovely old pub with exposed beams & cockerel decor. Was impressed with the gluten free menu as there was a lot of choice which you don’t always get in other pubs.

Didn't eat today. Pub was busy and staff were thin on the ground but seemed to be coping. One of the more expensive pub restaurants I've been in but the atmosphere was nice
Rating: 4 / 5
Very old pub in a great spot. Plenty of seating inside with both a large bar and large restaurant area. Staff were very helpful and the chef was accommodating to our specific requirements. All the food was cooked to a high standard. The only downside was the relatively high bill compared to other pub restaurants.

Went for our wedding anniversary a week ago, had been years since we'd been so was nice to go again. Our food was mostly perfect with the exception of the Seabass, which was slightly over cooked and the plate was served with sauce over the sides. My Sole was fantastic, as was the rabbit tart, blue cheese and walnut salad and our Tart au citroens. We were given the choice of where we wanted to sit by a well-dressed gentlemen who couldn't have been nicer. A couple of gripes, though! If you want a soft drink then there is no drink menu for this and when asked it was Coke, lemonade, rhubarb press and one other which I can't remember. All again with lemonade if we wanted. I'd seen ginger ale and others in the fridge later on but was a bit disappointed not to be told this. Also, when our cutlery was cleared by the same waiter after our mains, he just put the cutlery in the middle of the table for us to sort ourselves. Little things may be, but make all the difference on a special night. Would definitely recommend and go back but won't be in a massive rush.

It’s great. I have an issue with our rural lunch spots limiting themselves to panini’s, jacket potatoes and maybe a sausage roll so eating here is a breath of fresh air. The menu consists of (but not limited to); a kind of Vegan bliss bowl, venison cottage pie, awesomely large quiche (which most diners seemed to reach for that particular day) and the obligatory over priced burger, which was very good. So I took the burger which came with chunky chips seasoned to perfection and a very good homemade coleslaw. Yes at £13 quid it’s on the expensive side, you could eat a five guys, or even the Ivy for a similar price but it’s not a bad burger and the patty was great so I got over it. Other dishes were very reasonably priced in my opinion, I tried the venison which was cooked very well, as was the large quiche which was peppered in veg as well to really a meal out of it. Last item our group ate was the risotto balls (arancini) which really was top drawer with its xo sauce. I can’t stress how good the risotto balls are. If I really had to criticise the menu one vegan option in today’s world is not really fair but that’s digging deep to criticise. So yeah, eat here. I’ll be very surprised if you walk out disappointed. It’s very nicely decorated, Staff are friendly, the head chef made a point of sticking her head out as we left to say thanks. All these things make for a very pleasant experience.

Love this place so much. I have eaten here many times with my wife but i was fortunate to also photograph a wedding there just before xmas. It was perfect for a wedding - the decor is unique, quirky and compelling - there was so much i could do photo wise. Mallus Restaurant in Maidstone delivered an exceptional dining experience that left us thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff set the tone for what turned out to be a memorable meal. The food was simply amazing, capturing the authentic taste of Kerala cuisine with remarkable freshness and flavor. Every dish we tried was bursting with the rich, aromatic spices and ingredients that are the hallmark of Kerala cooking. It felt like a genuine taste of back home, a culinary journey that transported us straight to the heart of Kerala. The flavors were vibrant, the presentation was impeccable, and the portions were generous. Overall, Mallus Restaurant provided a delightful dining experience that exceeded our expectations. For anyone craving the real taste of Kerala, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Our favourite spot in Kent! The Poet is consistently excellent: wonderful service, superb quality dishes The menu changes periodically depending on local produce availability, but is always exquisite, a real treat every time we go. I love that they offer a dog friendly table in the bar (if you ring ahead to book, and your doggo is well behaved) Garden is also lovely for a drink before/after food inside 👌 Highly recommend.

Get in quick before it gets a star. Service- relaxed but very professional Drink - well recommended Food - for £100 a head in London easily. Seriously superb food. The dishes take you on a journey the team design and deliver on. Went for a birthday, will now “have to go back” to regularly check quality.

Attended last night for birthday surprise and wasn't disappointed. The staff were very attentive throughout the evening. Head Chef Lee has created a menu which is a delight. The menu to make a decision which of the 5 starters & 6 mains to choice was extremely hard as I could and was tempted to have one of each. The food was as good as u can get the flavours were exquisite. The pairing of wine is a great idea. You will not be disappointed in booking here. Will be returning.

La Villetta is such a lovely part of the food scene in Maidstone. It’s a cosy, independent restaurant with really flavoursome and seasonal menus. Our starters were amazing, we shared a selection of olives, burrata and polpettine and they were delicious both separately and together! It was a little slow to get our mains but my chicken was beyond flavoursome, I would even say not for the faint hearted. It was so buttery and creamy, i loved it. My husband had the mushroom gnocchi which was not as deep in flavour but still quite good. The gnocchi looked as though it came from a packet but honestly compared to the chains that are available in our area, the food here was much more homemade. We also tried one of the italian beers, Birra flea (margherita), it was so nice I’ve had a google to buy some. Its malty and savoury in flavour so goes so well with all of the food. We didn’t go for dessert but they do an afogato with baileys in it which went down a treat! The waitress was really lovely and helpful with the menu. The only odd thing is that the floor feels a bit wonky under foot! This is a really charming place to eat and the food is much fresher than anything else you’ll find in Maidstone. We will definitely return.

Really delicious authentic food, long wait times. We visited on a Saturday lunchtime when we were one of three tables. We shared the arancini and bredaola to start, and then had the ravioli and risotto for mains. Everything was super delish and good portions, shame we didn't have enough room for dessert.

Vesuvius is a brilliant hidden gem with friendly and accommodating staff, a great menu and incredible service. My partner and I stopped by after seeing the restaurant on Google maps, and can confidently say we'll be back in again the next time we're in Maidstone. It's only a few minutes walk from the high street, so it's absolutely worth popping in for lunch or dinner.

🍽️ Just dropped by Vesuvius Restaurant and here's the lowdown: - 🇮🇹 Ambiance: Stepping into Vesuvius is like a time travel to old-school Italy. Everything has a really vintage touch. It’s not exactly my cup of tea as I lean towards more modern settings, but it's got character! - 🤔 Service: Had a bit of an odd experience. The waitress seemed a tad unsure, not even asking for our booking name. Made me wonder why we booked in the first place. - 🍞 Food: The garlic breadsticks came in a packet, which was unexpected. I reckon serving them out of the packet might add a touch of freshness! The menu choices and the dishes themselves were a bit basic for my taste. However, the roast potatoes were a hit - not sure how Italian they are, but delicious nonetheless! Tried a bit of the carbonara and found it a bit bland. - 🍴 Overall Vibe: The place was buzzing for a Friday night, which was nice to see. Rating: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It didn't quite hit the spot for me, and while I might not head back on my own initiative, I'm open to giving it another go if someone else is keen.

Italian restaurant in Maidstone,Kent. The food is good, authentic Italian fare. They were around three quarters full and throughout my stay I only heard positive comments about the food. The waiting staff are not really very attentive. No one checked back to see if the food was ok nor did anyone ask if I wanted any more drinks. In the end I had to ask. That said they were all polite. Food came to the table within 15 minutes and was hot and tasty. Food prices are moderate, no at pizzas are around £15 for example but are big enough to share. The restaurant has toilets and the one I used was clean. Disabled access is ok , some areas of the restaurant would be a little too tight to accommodate a wheelchair but there are a few tables that would be ok. There is no parking outside but a paid, council run car park is no more than a five minute walk away
