“Busy Bank Holiday weekend, garden full even at 12:30 I told my friend to book just in case and glad we did. I've eaten here on a number of occasions and never been disappointed. Today was no exception, the staff are friendly and the food is generally a high standard, not too cheap but good portions and tasty sauces, whatever some negative reviewers might say. I first came here in the early 1980's when it was a much smaller pub with a small counter by the corner and people playing domino's and shove Ha penny at the bar or cribbage! It's got bags of character and simple seating with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Be sure to ring and book just in case! Great place to start or end a walk from! Often full of walkers and cyclists as well as car trade! Small car park at rear of property, if you have elderly or disabled guests drop them off before parking as the pub is located overlooking the former quarry pits in the valley below!”

“I've been living in Canterbury for the past two years, and while I've tried numerous Indian restaurants, none have truly captured the authentic taste of India—until I discovered Sekkoya. Today, I experienced what can only be described as a culinary revelation. The food was absolutely fantastic, embodying the rich and vibrant flavors of North Indian cuisine. From the moment I placed my order, I could sense that this experience would be different. The dishes arrived promptly, beautifully packaged, and bursting with the true essence of Indian spices. Every bite transported me back to India, with flavors that were bold, authentic, and perfectly balanced. It was like a taste of home, right here in Canterbury. A special mention must go to Mr. Divakar, the General Manager at Sekkoya. He is an outstanding man who made my dining experience even more memorable. He personally ensured that everything was perfect, and he was absolutely right when he assured me that the taste would be just like in India. His dedication to quality and customer satisfaction is truly commendable. If you're in Canterbury and craving authentic North Indian cuisine, look no further than Sekkoya. The flavors, the quality, and the exceptional service all combine to make this restaurant a standout. I can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you, Sekkoya for bringing a true taste of India to Canterbury!”

“Amazing restaurant and beautiful local produce market! The food at the restaurant was really fancy and absolutely delicious! Every meal was a real experience! They use local and seasonal ingredients sourced directly from the market. We ordered a 3-course meal which was definitely pricey but perfect for a celebration or special occasion. The staff a very attentive and very well organised. Booking a table is best as it gets very busy. The market is also very charming with fresh local veg, fish, meat, juice, cheese and other wonderful finds. Highly recommend and can't wait to be back!”

“We had Sunday Roast here. The chicken was grilled to perfection. The beef was also very tasty but one piece tasted like lamb(?). Portions not that big, but in the end big enough. The Lager beer tasted like a top fermented beer but was good. Dessert then really made this meal perfect, especially the sticky toffee pudding! Coffee a bit too acidic for my taste.”
